The chimera lunged to the phoenix, stepping between it and the portal and blowing a plume of fire at it. She raised a hand and the flame began to ball up, doubling and tripling in on itself until it was larger than her head, and then she tossed it.
Yes, damage, yes... oh, Jack, the voices, what had it done to her?! Taryn clapped her hands over her ears and screamed.

As she staggered about, trying in vain to make sense of the voices and what they were telling her Zurine thought she heard someone yelling at her. "Be quiet!" She ordered the voices "Someone is saying something!" She plead in desperation - although the voices of course completely ignored her and continued to fill her head with their insane babbling.
Furrowing her brow she tried to locate the source of the yelling but the only people she saw were hunters and hunters in disguise and she couldn't trust any of them. One word however did manage to sink into her paranoid stupor.Amityville the phoenix was going to Amityville - where it would destroy that oh so peaceful home she had been so close to returning too...she couldn't have that.."Shut-up!" She screamed at the babbling voices and surged forward to try and knock the bird away from the portal. She thought maybe she might have touched it, shoved it a little ..but it was hard to concentrate and tell for certain.

While he was within the comforts of 'home' with Mitsu, Shun soon heard someone shouting his name. Calling to him. Wait. Why was he being beckoned? He didn't want to leave this peaceful place. Though, with each calling, he began to slowly realize that this wasn't the best for him. Somewhere inside, he knew this scene was just a facade. A part of him just didn't want to let go of it. Then again... a dream could never truly be like the real thing. Snapping out of it after what felt like a long time, his vision shifted back to the chaos around them, leaving him feel a little empty right then and there. Reality was a b***h. But it was what he had to live with. What they all had to live with. Turning towards Mitsu, he nudged her, trying to get her to snap out of the fog. Had she been entranced as well?

Get the bird? The island is in danger? Jude started to pull himself together willing himself to move toward the target to try and prevent it from entering the portal but as he moved forward he heard a soft giggle a strange voice an odd whisper that brushed against his ear. He ended up falling to a complete standstill his gaze flicking around trying to find the source of the phantom that just 'spoke' to him.
What was that? He didn't understand...

Faustus glanced around. The figure was suddenly gone. A strange feeling crept over him, a sense of loss, of emptiness fluttering through his very being. No, he wanted to stay here. It was so nice here ... so calm, so empty, ... what worries did he have here?? ... what needs ...
Amarus, he realized. Amarus needed him. ... And Olivia ... and, hadn't there been someone else?? ... They were his is friends. He loved his friends, he cherished them. Cherished. ... Hadn't he heard that before?? ... Yes, yes Amarus had said it. She cherished them, cherished him. He had to help them ... he had to-
The fog of Insanity was lifting forming once again into a mighty shifting grey bird as the voices around him faded entirely. Faustus blinked, still feeling weak and rattled, lost, as he stared up to it, watching it lift up and away from him.
... But it no longer mattered, right?? ... Then why did he still feel this way?? ...
His eyes caught sight of the portals on the far side of the island. That was right, the hunters. The hunters were here, and they had just been engaged in a battle, a diversion to destroy the Four Clans Isles.
Where was Amarus?? ... Olivia?? ... Faustus turned and glanced through the crowd of startled and stirring students, searching out for his pink and blue-haired friends.
He shivered, and stepped slowly forward.

Bix finally, finally was back in reality. He had wandered away from his friends, towards the phoenix, and now was staring at it as the creature sped towards the portals.
He heard the hunter's voices rising in a wave, whispering and yelling and orders. Don't let it get back to Deus! They'd all been victims of the Insanity, even the Leads, and their very home was now being threatened.
It was enough to set Bix into action. His face was streaked with tears, finally stopped, and he ran as fast as he could to get himself between the portal and the bird. It would NOT be going to Deus!
He fished in his pocket and pulled out the FEAR packet, slapping it against his bow as she hissed and moaned in shock for release. All at once like that was almost too much for Mina to handle.
Bix lined up his shot, his newest trick, as the energy collected at the end of his arrow in a glowing orb. The charge collected until there was no more to be gathered and he let the energy blast fly.

For awhile there, Deryk had wondered if he had died, but he found himself soon lost in an old memory of his. A happy moment. It was rather nice really. He didn't have to worry about dying so much here. Eventually, he began to hear someone or something calling out to him, trying to pull him back.
"Lemmestayforjustalittlelonger.." he mumbled while try to shoo the voice away.
Though, after awhile, he couldn't ignore the calls any further. One more time and he had returned to reality.
Blinking, he turned around, trying to figure out what had just happened.

Lucien was comfortable here in the fog, his fondest memories wrapping their arms around him and keeping him securely there just like the fog that covered the world. The skies were peaceful and there was no battles to fight or no worries to stress over. He didn't have to worry about where his bird was or if his bird was safe and he didn't have to do anything but listen to Israfel sing songs that no one but him wanted to hear. He was happy to. glad to, eager to take all of Israfel's wonderful songs. It wouldn't be bad if they could just stay here forever, right?
... right?
It was a sound ideal but something prodded the back of Lucien's mind and soon there was a sinking feeling in Lucien's chest. Something wasn't right. Israfel sung better now and he looked different now, didn't he? The memories were nice but that's all they were. They couldn't replace the real Israfel, and Lucien would never want them to. Lucien loved his memories but he didn't want to live in those forever! He wanted to make new ones with Israfel!
It urged him on, and soon Lucien was struggling against the world. He didn't want to live here! This was not his home! He did agree that his home was with Israfel but this wasn't Israfel, it was just a memory! It was hard to just say that and walk away but Lucien didn't want that. He wanted more than just that. He wanted to live now in a time where he knew he loved Israfel, he wanted to live on to a time where he was finally able to tell Israfel. This wasn't it, it wasn't it.
The world slowly crumbled around Lucien until finally Lucien was back, along with the Insanity Phoenix.

It took Aurian a moment to realise where the portals must be linking to. Behind her, someone yelled that it was heading for the portal to Amityville. Aurian blanched. That phoenix - made of Insanity and spreading it around - in her home? No, thank you! Aurian took off at a run, chasing after the bird. All they needed to do was force it into the other portal, right? Then it was the Hunters' problem. And honestly, they deserved it after everything they'd done to the Horsemen. Raising her scythe, she tried to push at the phoenix, hoping to turn it towards the other portal. She slipped and missed. The phoenix continued on without interruption. Aurian watched it go with wide eyes. All around her, voices hissed and whispered. Wrapping her arms around herself, Aurian shivered. She couldn't make out words, but she knew, just knew, that they were insulting and condemning her for her failure. She was useless. If the phoenix did make it to Amityville, it was her fault. She should just give up now. He released a great sigh of air as he mournfully clung to the last remnants of his hallucination; he knew it wasn’t real but… Josie was dead and even before that she hadn’t been that happy in years. To remember the good times with such clarity; it was tempting to stay just a little longer.

Kettil snapped out of his daze. It was heading for Amity? What? No! That is where Lark was located. His family. Freya. Everyone and everything dear to him was there living, breathing, waiting for him to come back from the trip. His heart beat a heavy rhythm in his chest as he started to move forward his fist aimed to hit the large creature that could hurt everything in his life.
Brothers, sisters, mother, father, friend, beloved....All the things he loved about his world were in danger and he was aiming to stop it. This time he wasn't going to miss. He wanted to make sure he diverted the overgrown excuse for a fowl.

Perhaps because it was a happy memory that Yin realized that something was wrong. Perhaps his mind had grown almost accustomed to being toyed with. Perhaps it just felt off that it was not continuing and something jarred in his mind. He pulled away relatively quickly, realizing that in the fog he had no idea where he was.
No. Not again. This was not fair, it had not even been a dream. There was a sound floating past his ear, a whisper that he could not quite make out. What was this? Where had he been going to? Had he...had he truly desired to go home that badly?
Something was crumbling inside of him. All of those feelings and insecurities of the past several weeks washing over him. Not just the memory he had been reliving but the dreams and every happy moment that had been in them. He wanted that. He wanted that life with his chosen and her child. Nothing complicated. And he hated himself for it.
The voices kept whispering.

Racing for the giant bird, Mei thought up a wonderful idea. Why not push it towards the hunters portal? Yesss that would solve a lot of problems right? They can have the giant angry bird that they had caused to show up, and amityville and Bul would be safe! Giggling madly at the thought of the hunters getting their just deserts, Mei ran alongside the phoenix, and shoved it closer towards the deus portal. "Have fun tasting humanss~ Hee hee~"
With that said and done, Mei watched as the bird flew on, wide eyed and large grin on her face. "I wish I could be there to see iiit." Invictus drew his bow, an arrow materializing in his other hand as he drew it back and let it fire.
To his advantage, it sailed quite straight and narrow. It had been, overall, a nice shot on the end of the Horseman for a weapon he was unused to casual use with. On the other hand, however, the Phoenix itself seemed to have no qualms with doing its own thing, flying as it saw fit as the arrow seemed to pass right through it without the smallest bit of redirection.
Hm, he'd have to hit it more directly than that.

Mandy frowned at Alwine’s hand, she could see the bandages the ghoul wore but she couldn’t feel them. The sensory clash was disconcerting. She shook her head trying to clear it only to jerk as everything suddenly whited disappearing.
Barth put his other hand on her arm, “Mandy?”
But that was wrong Barth hadn’t gone on any walks with them in ages, in fact Mandy sometimes felt that she never got to see him at all. It was her fault, she sometimes felt awkward about subjects she hadn’t gotten the courage to breach…
She blinked again and the warmth on her arm disappeared and she suddenly found herself walking with just Alwine.
Balking she dug in her heels trying to get Alwine to stop walking so she could figure out where Barth had gone only for Alwine to tug angrily, nearly tripping Mandy.
What the Jack!? That wasn’t like her ghoulfriend at all! What was going on she wanted to go back to before- before was nice!
This time when Alwine tugged Mandy fell, crying out as everything whited out again revealing her hallucination for what it was.
She shuddered as the phoenix once more took flight, thankful to be out of the fog but feeling some deep ache that coming from the memory had left her.
Deep in her mind a small girl smiled and began her whispers anew.
