Males raise the young, it is very rare for a male and female kelpie to mate. Males are extremely territorial.

Female and male kelpies dislike each other, and will rarely mate. Females tend to abandon their offspring, or even try to kill them if forced to raise them, while males will be protective of their offspring and raise them with pride.

Females aren't as brightly colored as males, but do have a lot of sex appeal. Neither male nor female kelpies enjoy being around other kelpies. Males take pride in raising their young while the females will harm or even kill them if forced to raise them.

males are different in that they are the caretakers of their children. the females don't care about their offspring and in fact are very dangerous to them. females are also fewer in number, and because of this are all treated like queens.

kempis will only mate ebils that have an intrest in water
female kelpis are rare and you cannot ask for girl in breeding you must put random

Females are more likely to rip out your heart and eat it on a platter, males will just tear off and arm or two and beat you with it. ^.~ <3

Males may tend their spawn, but females are nasty-tempered monsters that would rather eat their own spawn than raise them. Oh yes, an they are super rare - you can only get 'em if you do random(s) in a breeding AND are lucky! :3
