User Image "...so it was breaking-and-entering."

"Aw shaddap, it's not like they stole anything." ;P

"I see..." Azriel responded to Rhone's explanation, then made the most subtle jolt when that grim look of his caught her off-guard. "A-ah, if you say so... User Image Thanks for the heads-up."

Watching as he walked away, Eloysio spoke up. "Actually, the modifications I made to the glyph should cover that. You don't have to worry about the spell draining from your own energy, but...I cannot speak for the surrounding environment. Now that I think of it, perhaps diverting the flow might make for a more serious impact... It'll be good to have him as backup..."

~~~
"That ya can count on, ma'am," a different voice suddenly piped up.
Lloyd and Sheena made a bit of a startled jolt, then looked up to see a pair standing at Christopher's other side. It was those two. The mysterious twins that could apparently see over all time and possibilities, that fed them predictions that all came true.
The two looked rather solemn this time than the usual strangely cheery. But of course, this wasn't a good time to be smiling.
The woman immediately dropped to her knees and did a deep, apologetic bow as she extended her hands to pass Sheena a medium-sized satchel that seemed to be brimming with its contents. "Medicines, herbs, salves. They'll soothe what ails 'im but good."
"...Thank you." Sheena took the satchel off her hands with a creased brow and pursed lips. She was bitter this happened at all, but knew full well that anger on them would be misplaced. The pair tirelessly told them time and again that they were sorry things had to happen like this. That this was the proper sequence of events. Hardship had to be faced to secure the best outcome. And how could she contest when they showed visible proof of their time-overseeing powers?
"So...they're the ones?" she asked, snapping out of her moment of thought. She was referring to the group of new allies that had come to the village.
"Well, you'll find out shortly this's th' point where Sol's gonna bow out."
"But th' ones that remain, yeah, they're the ones crucial ta seein' things through t' th' endgame."
"Speaking of Sol...those 'Midgardian Yokai' he told us all about...you don't suppose they had a hand in this too?" Lloyd asked, gesturing his hand by Christopher to show that he was referring to his kidnapping.
Now, the male of the two went down to his knees beside his female counterpart. "That assumption's a step in th' right direction." He took a silent moment to gaze at the collar upon Christopher's neck. "By th' way, that right there. Th' stone. It's an explosive. If you'd kindly undo th' bonds, we'll properly dispose of it."
Sheena's eyes widened a bit at that statement. She quickly made another spell tag and applied it to the collar, making it crumble away too. Then the blue-haired man carefully took the explosive-containing pendant into his hands.
((Leaving a little room for anything Colette might have to say. ^^))
Hearing the voice, Colette glanced over to see the mysterious twins standing at Christopher's other side. Instead of their strangely cheery expression they usually bore, they both looked rather solemn this time. Then again, this wasn't a moment for smiles. Colette watched as the woman went on her knees and gave a apologetic bow to Sheena as she gave her the satchel. She can understand Sheena's pain that her son's kidnapping even happened to begin with, despite that hardship had to be faced to secure the best outcome. She gazed at Christopher once more as Lloyd asked if the Midgardian Yokai might have played a part in Christopher's disappearance. "What could they have wanted from him?" She asked the twins.
The two gazed at each other for a few moments, contemplating how much was actually safe to divulge. The male nodded at his counterpart, then looking back to Colette, the woman spoke first.
"It's very clear by dear Christopher's appearance that 'sperimentation took place. N' he's a partic'lar specimen of interest because..."
"...they're aware 'f his parentage. Former Chosen 'f Tethe'alla, suspected 'f havin' angelic traits..."
"...n' Chief 'f th' Ninja, known t' be a pow'rful Summoner. They tried t' infuse him with th' 'superiority' 'f their race..."
"...tryin' t' make him their own, bring 'im under their control, n' use 'im against th' people 'f this world."
Sheena and Lloyd looked alarmed upon hearing that the Yokai knew about them somewhat, on top of what they planned for Christopher. Knowing that the former was about to ask how, they continued before she could even get a word in.
"Rest assured, there ain't a traitor in yer midst, Sheena. Most 'f what th' Midgardians know 'bout you by now..."
" s'mostly jus' surface information. Rel'tively common knowledge. But they do have ears in all th'...beneficial places."
Sheena had been tense since they began speaking, but eased up upon being reassured that the Midgardians' knowledge didn't come from anyone within the village. "Speaking of ears in the right places, though...how could we have ours all over and still not hear even the slightest bit more about them? It took someone from the other world stepping forward with all he knew to finally be alerted of them."
Lloyd nodded in agreement and added, "Yeah, it just doesn't add up. With the combined efforts of the Renegades and Mizuho's information network, you'd think someone would have already caught an enemy spy slipping up over the past century."
The twins sighed regretfully in perfect unison.
"Much as we wanna tell ya, Ah'm afraid we can't. Lettin' ya know that changes way too many 'f th' future variables. If y'all catch on too early..."
"...they'll figure it out n' strike with their full force b'fore you n' our key players've obtained th' proper means t' defend against 'em but good."
Sheena and Lloyd had expressions of disappointment, but nodded in understanding.
"It's like...there's a balance, isn't there. If a lot of good is achieved, then the bad things that follow hit harder. And vice-versa."
The female of the twins nodded. "That's purty much th' idea."
Drawing the meeting to a conclusion, the male stood up and his counterpart followed.
"Now if y'all would excuse us, we're due to see Raine n' Genis now. Oh, n' we've gotta take care o' this explosive too. Its inner workin's caught on that it ain't attached to its subject, n' it's gettin' more volatile. It could very well detonate in a few moments."
And in the blink of an eye, they disappeared into thin air.
((This bit is pretty much over, but if Colette has any concluding reactions, I'd be glad to respond to them. :3))
~~~

All the while, Azriel claimed the guest room reserved for her in the palace. With Eloysio, she had a session of double-checking the materials they've gathered, as well as any further modifications that needed to be made in the glyphs he drew out. In several minutes' time, they were good to go. Azriel left her room, checked a map of the village on one of the bulletin boards, then made her way out of the palace and toward the dais that Rhone told her about in the northwestern corner.

As she walked the streets, they seemed a lot emptier to her now. It must've been getting pretty late.

Colette had also looked alarmed upon hearing that the Yokai somewhat knew about them as well as about what they planned for Christopher. She was at least relieved to hear that the Yokai's knowledge didn't come from anyone within Mizuho. Oddly enough, the Yokai knew somewhat about them, yet herself, Lloyd, and the others knew little of the Yokai. Colette also gave a nod in understanding when the twins mentioned that they couldn't give the answers as it would change the future if they did. "We would have to let our answers come to us when the time is right." She said. It was disappointing that they couldn't get the answers now, yet she could understand that they would have to let everything play out naturally. The meeting came to an end as the twin disappeared into thin air.

Deciding to step out to enjoy the night air, Sirea came out of the building after excusing herself to Kai and Lilith. She gazed up at the night sky to give herself a moment to admire the moon and the stars. She had found the night sky to be soothing to her, especially the moon. Soon enough, she spotted Azriel wandering the streets. "Hey, Azriel!" She called out to the female wingfolk as she slowly approached her.

after Sirea left them there was a brief moment of silence

"When are you going to tell them? I feel it will benefit them having knowledge about what we are going to have to inevitably face"

Lilith was silent for a moment

"I'll tell them when the time comes, with the way things are going there is likely going to be a lot of death, he'll be attracted to it...especially if there are souls of those from that other world."

Azriel's pointed ears twitched as she heard someone calling her. Turning around and seeing that it was Sirea, she smiled warmly and stopped in her place for a moment, allowing the werefox to draw closer. "Oh, hi there Sirea! What's up? Couldn't sleep?" ^_^

As Sirea came closer, Azriel noticed Lilith and Kai emerging from the background from a different direction than Sirea came from. They seemed to have been idly wandering a different path while checking out the ninja village, and yet ended up in the same place anyway. Happy to see them as well, she called out to them too. "Hey, Lilith! Kai! You too?" Well, she knew Kai didn't have the ability to sleep anymore, so she more or less was referring to Lilith.

Oscuro, impatient as ever, found herself a little ticked that Azriel was taking a little pause. "H-hey! We're about to go revive Master Eloysio here, why the holdup?!

Eloysio chuckled a bit. "Now, now Oscuro, a little chat with comrades wouldn't hurt. Especially since these are people Azriel would be traveling with for a while. It would do her good to be a little more sociable."

Sirea smiled a bit as her fox ears twitched a bit. "I wasn't really all that tired. I figured that I take a moment to enjoy the night air." She said. "How about you? Out enjoying the stars and the moon as well?" When Azriel called out to Lilith and Kai, the werevixen glanced over to see the pair. They seemed to come from a different direction from the way she came from. Perhaps they were just wandering about the village as well. "Can't get enough of my company?" She asked Lilith and Kai in a teasing manner, chuckling a little.

The duo glanced over at Sirea and Azriel

"oh hello again! what are you doing out here so late?" Kai asked

Azriel tilted her head to the side thoughtfully as she spoke. "Actually...after our meal, I've been spending most of the day gathering what is needed to perform the spells to make a body for Eloysio's soul to inhabit. It's kind of surprising that I've actually found all the resources I need just right here in Mizuho. And now..." she patted her shoulder bag where she kept all said resources, "Now everything's ready."

There was a silent moment in which she had an idea that made her grin widely. "Hey, since you're up all late too...do you guys wanna come watch?" 8D

Sirea glanced over to Kai. "Couldn't sleep yet on my end." She chuckled then tilted her head slightly as Azriel mentioned that she had been gathering the materials needed to perform the spells in order to create a body for Eloysio's soul. She herself was surprised that the female wingfolk was able to find all the resources here in Mizuho. "That is actually pretty convienent if you ask me. Makes things a bit easier on us, right?" She said with a smile. Her ears then twitched from hearing her question. "That's not a bad idea at all. I'm actually quite curious on how Eloysio would look like in his new body." ^_^ That and the thought of witnessing such a process would be an interesting experience.

"Ah the mysterious soul found other means eh? congrats" Lilith responded

"you mean you spoke with this Eloysio?"

"yep, couldn't help him though since his remains are long gone, either way this should be entertaining"

Eloysio made a beaming smile as if people could see him. "Yes, it will be a learning experience for us all."

Azriel was nearly mirroring the kind of smile Eloysio was making. "Great! Then follow me, I'm headed over to the place where I am to perform it." And with that, she led the three with an excited bounce in her step, but taking care not to go ahead of them too fast. "It's over at this stone dais where Sheena happened to practice her summoning arts in her younger days."

Everyone reached the venue in a few minutes' time, seeing Rhone standing in wait upon arrival.

"Hey, Rhone! I'm totally ready now! mrgreen Eloysio wants to give you the heads-up that he made certain adjustments so that it won't drain from people, but...he can't speak for anything else in the vicinity. Oh, and I hope you don't mind a few more spectators." She pointed with her thumb at the three behind her.

Rhone, standing with his arms crossed in the center of the stone dais facing away from the gate, slowly lowers his arms and turns around to face the group. As he opens his eyes, a weary chuckle escapes his lips.

"Don't worry, Blues, I'm not too worried about the drain. If it starts to effect the environment, I'll just take the spell's drain into myself. I've cast this spell so many times...I know I can take it."

His expression turns serious as he tugs the brim of his hat down slightly and holds onto it with his right index finger and thumb.

"What I'm more worried about, and the reason I'm here, is that you're casting a spell that took me over 20 tries to get correct. And several of those first attempts were...not optimal. Normally now that you've gone through...what you went through, I'd take you under my wing and help you practice the spell until you perfect it, practicing on creatures much smaller than a human so that the likely bad first attempts wouldn't go so bad and when it's time to move onto the big spell, you'd already have the process down completely."

Rhone inhales deeply before sighing for a few seconds and shrugging his shoulders.

"Obviously, we're skipping a few steps here. So, what I aim to do is let you cast the spell while I sort of...influence it. Keep the mana you're putting into the spell balanced juuuust right...because if I don't and you mess up..."

He tilts his hat back up and narrows his eyes a little.

"You might lose some fingers...or a limb. Also, Eloysio's body will have 34 fingers, 21 toes, 2 heads, and 3 asses. Again. Not. Optimal."

With that, Rhone resumes a relaxed stance and gestures as if welcoming guests into his home.

"As for your guests, make sure they stay a safe distance, just in case, and everything should be fine!"

OnO "..." Azriel's lips were tightly pursed into what seemed like a strong frown, but it was really that she was trying to keep herself from laughing. She was well aware that Rhone was being quite serious and all, but the delivery of the final line in his warning sounded a lot more humorous to her than it should have been.

Meanwhile, in Azriel's mindspace, Chiaro was gritting her teeth with a twitch in her eye at Rhone's explanation. Oscuro began with a sputter that broke out into hearty laughter, and Eloysio was also having mixed feelings. He nearly snickered but stifled it, knowing how directly the turnout affects him.

"A-alright...duly noted," Azriel responded after an awkward pause. "L-let's begin...with setting the spell circle down." She unclipped the shoulder strap of her bag to set it down and took out the parchment that Eloysio had drawn his modified version of the glyph on. Lining close to the edges of the paper was a sort of frame made up of runic inscriptions, and drawn in the space below the circle was some sort of bar with the same.

"So we have to...redraw...this whole thing...?" Azriel uttered, daunted by the complexity of the drawing.

Eloysio explained, "Oh no no no, I do not expect you to do that. The frame and the bar, they're not part of the glyph. They're there to produce a specific effect. Just lay the parchment flat on the ground, then put together your index and middle finger, and lightly swipe them over the bar toward the center of the platform."

Azriel blinked, taking a few moments to process what he said to her, then proceeded to do as she was told. With a muffled kind of "poof" noise, the spell circle seemed to have jumped from the paper to the middle of the dais, enlarged to its intended size. The frame and the bar remained on the paper. Her mouth slightly hung in a small "o" at what she just witnessed, not having seen magic like this before.

The center of the spell circle was composed of the original one Rhone would recognize, but he would find a lot more inscription put into it and small circular spots that were blank. Additional to the circle was an outer ring that seemed to follow a more alchemical formula, as it was littered with such symbols. There were also blank spots along that ring.

Next in the line of order was filling those spots. Now Azriel took out the box she had acquired from Mizuho's infirmary. Opening it, the first object she took out what was revealed to be a small square porcelain dish with a shard of human bone on it. Carrying the box with her, she went on to place the dish upon one of the blank spots in the inner circle. The contents of succeeding dishes were fragments of organs pertaining to the different systems of the body, grouped together accordingly. A piece of heart paired with samples of veins and arteries for the circulatory system, a piece of brain and a small bundle of nerves for the nervous system, a piece of skin with a lock of hair and a few nails for the integumentary system, and so on. These all came from the specimens under scientific study.

After Azriel was done placing the components for the body, she returned to her bag and brought out different kinds of material including a thick bundle of folded brown cloth, some golden satin, some white cloth, and some black leather. These objects were placed in the blank spots of the outer circle.

Rhone folds his arms and grins as he watches Azriel work.

"A simple resizing spell, but I like the autonomous execution. Very clever. I also see the additions to the glyph that'll make sure to materialize clothes onto the body when it's created. A...little annoying since it means I'm gonna have to make sure those materialize onto the body instead of inside it...but it's not much extra work."

He cocks his head to the side inquisitively and places his hand on his chin.

"Not sure what the biological components are for...as long as you're familiar enough with what kind of body you're making, you don't actually need them..."

He thinks for a moment before smacking his head in realization.

"Wait, of course. You've never encountered Eloysio's physical form, much less gotten...close to it. The components are so the spell knows what gaps to fill in."

Finally, he shrugs his shoulders before folding his arms again.

"Of course, if something starts to go wrong, just call on me. I've cast this spell over a hundred times; I can probably fix anything that goes wrong before it's too late. I'm ready when you are, Blues."
