Malodore tensed as Riley warned it; to it, the initial warning fizzed out strangely at the end, and it did not receive the rest of her messages. It stared at her instead, observing every flinch and twitch in her musculature as she responded to the sensory stimuli only she could detect. It was ready in case she tried to attack them again... but it didn't let go. It wouldn't, unless she outright struck it, or some outside force pulled it away.

... thinking about it only made the voices worse, though. She's at our mercy. You all are. Just give up. Just walk into the fog and join us. We lost our minds already. We're so happy, the mist-voices crooned. So happy.

Wanting to check up on the few upfront, Jericho picked up the pace so that he was a little closer to them. In the meantime, he resumed with waving his flaming sword around overhead since they were still missing a few students. He paused for a moment, near Mac and Lizzy (.. and Charlie) to see how the demon was fairing, but she seemed to be down for the count still. But she looked unhurt.

From there, he continued towards Mal and Riley, missing the bit about the mindflayer going into an illusion.

"Stop worrying about them so much. I'm sure they could care less about you. You're just a weak loudmouth is all... "

The voices were getting more annoying than demoralizing at this point. It didn't help that they kept spewing the same sort of things over and over again.

"I'm only stating the truth.."

"Looks like you two finally made up again," he grinned faintly.

Malodore glanced up at Jericho, though it still kept hold of Riley's hand. "Yes," it sighed, feeling more than a little foolish about the whole thing - but, then, its judgment had been impaired. Still was, really, given the voices still hissing at the edges of its hearing, but they hadn't tried anything new in a while. "This may all be another vision, but it is a better one than any I've had so far." It shook its head.

Honestly, even if Riley exploded next to him, it... would scream, likely, but... its mind was getting so tired. It was much easier to just roll with the punches. "How have you been faring? I am seeing everyone with yellow eyes... and there are voices, occasionally."

Something flickered in the corner of its vision.

"Oh. And there's a unicorn behind you," it added, wearily.

"Tired," Jericho said shortly. This whole ordeal was definitely wearing him down. Adrenaline being shot through his system throughout the day had him a little on edge. The flailing and screaming and running and the like didn't help with that and the hallucinations were mentally wearisome.

"Right now I'm seeing the same... aside from the unicorn," he said while shooting a glance behind to make sure there really wasn't a unicorn following him. When there wasn't any that he could see, he faced the Plague doctor once again. For now it seemed the illusions were being dormant for himself, but there was no telling when they would act up once again.

"I wish there was some way to get rid of this damn fog."

Glancing at Riley, he noticed how silent she was..

"Is she alright?"

"She said she was hallucinating." Malodore looked at her again, worried; it squeezed her hand, just in case that might help. "She hasn't gone for the mace yet, at least..."

The unicorn was nibbling at Jericho's hair now, licking at the dragon's ears with starry-eyed adoration. "I think the unicorn might be in love with you," Malodore said, rolling its eyes. Honestly, compared to exploding bodies and people getting torn apart, this was rather... what was the word it had heard used?

Ah, yes. Weaksauce.

At the mention of Riley hallucinating, Jericho looked over at the mindflayer with concern. That would explain a thing or two, but he figured he should stay close by in case things took a turn for the worse. If she decided to attack again, he had a better chance of restraining her than Mal did.

"Ok, you're got to be joking," he said to the Plague doctor while looking at it with disbelief. That illusion seemed a little... lackluster compared to what they've been experiencing so far.

"Please tell me it isn't trying to hump my leg or something like that."

He was so tired, so tired that each step forward was a struggle. His body ached for rest, to simply collapse on the ground and sleep, but he couldn't, he wouldn't. If he stopped, it would be that much harder to get going again. No, he just wanted to get to the lighthouse, to end this journey once and for all.

It wasn't until he may have nearly collided into Jericho (again), that he realized the group had slowed again. No, why were they stopping, he didn't want to stop. If they stopped they might end up stuck here forever.

"Why are we stopping?"

His voice was weary, far to tired to show any hints of irritation. Where was that damned lighthouse?

"Oh, no," Malodore reassured Jericho quickly, after another glance at Riley. "It's... ah... chewing on your hair. And licking your face. So far, at least." Though it really... really didn't want to see the unicorn attempt to mate with Jericho...

Thankfully, the hallucination didn't seem inclined to be contrary; instead it tossed its head and smeared a sparkling rainbow across the fog with its horn. How... nice.

I'm sorry. Riley barely whispered to the hallucination, as she felt the tugging stop. Malodore's claw tightened around her hand, but she felt no more pressure pulling the claw in her hand. She could only assume the worst was over. Still, she waited.

One calming breath later, she began to open her eyes. I think it's over- She began, looking down at the hand she held - which was connected to Malodore's arm, as it should be.

The arm, however, was not connected to the rest of it, as it should be.

With a mind-piercing scream she frantically tried to shake the disembodied arm off of her, screeching as she pulled away. She stumbled several steps back, trying to get away from the scene of utter macabre destruction in front of her. The rest of Malodore's body lay on the ground, broken and lifeless. Charlie's lower half rested on top of Malodore's body, but his upper half was nowhere to be seen. All along the path as her eyes travelled it, were littered the broken and bloody pieces of her companions.

Jericho's body was face down, headless, but his hand was splayed out in her direction. As if he had been reaching out to her when he died.

Her screams drowned the world out, until all that was left was a sightless black. Her eyes rolled back behind her head, and she was gone. Her body fell to the ground face first, and Charlie fell on top of her.

The hallucination had won, after all.

((Zoned out to other RP since she'll be carried from this point on <3))

As relieved as Jericho was that he didn't have some illusionary unicorn trying to make moves on him, it was still... a little weird to think about it. But at least it was.. harmless.

"Did this do anything to it?" he asked while swatting the air behind him, curious if his actions would affect the illusion at all.

"We aren't sto-"

The dragon was about to answer Sheridan, but Riley's scream had cut him off. Quickly, he looked towards the Mindflayer and saw her collapse.

"Riley!" he called out while quickly crouching down by her to see if she was alright. He couldn't tell right away if she had passed out of if she just stumbled. Whatever she had seen, it must have been horrific...

Sparkles. Why did it have to be sparkles...

And then, suddenly, Riley was flailing wildly, shaking its hand out of her own and moving away. Her mental screams sliced through its mind before she keeled over.

"Riley!" Malodore knelt next to her, gently rolling Charlie's form to one side (though of course it made sure the pink-haired demon was in a comfortable position). It's not real, mia cara, it tried to think at her, dropping both hands to squeeze her shoulders tightly. It was willing to shake her, if it had to.

Riley had thought she'd mastered it, it seemed, and yet... she clearly hadn't. There really was no controlling any of this. It looked at Jericho helplessly.

... Incongruously, the unicorn smeared color and light over Riley's fallen form. Malodore glared daggers at it.

The Mindflayer was out cold. Frowning, Jericho let out a sigh before carefully scooping her up, leaving Charlie on the ground. They were going to need to find a way to bring him along as well.

"Can you get Charlie?" he asked Sheridan. He would have asked Malodore, but he wasn't sure if the Plague doctor would really be able to do that. It wasn't exactly known for its massive strength.

"..Do you know what it was she saw?"

As he asked that, he looked down at the Illithid he now carried. She had seemed calm up to her freak out..

"Something about an attack, I think, I... one of my hallucinations showed her being horribly killed," Malodore said, haltingly; it traced one finger down the smooth line of Riley's cheek. "Perhaps it was something of that nature. I, too, shut down after seeing such horrors..."

It shuddered involuntarily, its backblades chiming together.

The unicorn, for its part, whinnied and darted forward, leaving a trail of sparkles behind. Ugh. Still, as Malodore's angry gaze followed its movements... "Wait. Jericho, do you... do any of you see this? See the lighthouse?" For it seemed the fog was starting to clear, just a bit, and that the lighthouse they'd been seeking so long was just over the next rise...

Shuddering at that thought, Jericho nodded grimly.

"I.. saw you guys die too. I didn't quite shut down but I was definitely curled up on the ground for a good while," he admitted reluctantly, "I don't think I've ever really seen anything more horrific before."

At the mention of the lighthouse, he looked up. His eyes seemed to light up as he too saw the outline of the lighthouse not too far off.

"There it is!! We're here!" he said excitedly, almost dropping Riley as a result. Turning around, he called out to the rest, "VOOOOII!!! THE LIGHTHOUSE IS AHEAD!"

In all honestly, Sheridan wasn't sure if he could carry the pink haired demon, Charlie was his name? He was so tired it seemed an effort just to carry himself let alone another, but he couldn't just leave him there.

So with a deep breath, putting what strength he had left in his resolve, Sheridan took Charlie by one arm and the waist and hoisted him over his shoulders. Ugg, he was heavy, but Sheridan was still standing.

"Do you think she'll be--"

What? Sheridan looked up, following Maladore's gaze to the tall building. The lighthouse? Was it really there? Had they really made it? Oh thank cosmos, the fog was growing thinner, he felt relief, and at least a little less tired (or would have were he not carrying dead weight on his back).

"Did we really make it?"

It wasn't just another illusion was it? It couldn't be if all of them saw it, right?
