(You have a good point. It makes a good come back to posting)
Nicholas was having problems breathing for reasons unknown to him and he opened his eyes to see why he was having problems. When he lifted his head, he saw Faye laying down right next to his heart. This would be fine... if she didn't have a KEY in her head. "Um Faye? Not that I don't like you on my chest or anything, but you kind of suffocating me..." He told her, his voice sort of scratchy and rough from his troubled breathing.

"Hm?" Faye looked at him, sort of wondering what he meant before lifting her head in realization. "Heheh...Sorry, sometimes I totally forget about this thing." she said sheepishly as she knocked on the key's head.

"It's okay. Not like I don't have the same problem." He said with a smile and pointed at his curvy horns. "Maybe if there were just a tad smaller maybe a could." He said as he felt he horns and how dry they were. He then hugged Faye suddenly. "Oh well. You made them like that so why change it?" He asked not wanting an answer and continued to hug Faye.

"You know I could if you wanted to." Faye offered with a smile. "Unfortunately the key's not changing size any time soon." she half-joked. "Any smaller and it wouldn't stick out enough to fit in my door. Besides, then I'd have to change the lock, and re-fit the door, and it would just be all sorts of troublesome."

"It would make it easier on both of us, making the horns smaller I mean." He said with a smile."What if we had a duplicate made? I could carry it around instead since I'm easily able to carry such weight and then we could find a way to remove the key from your head?" He said jokingly. "Nah just teasing. Besides, the key looks cute in your head like that. I could just adjust to the weight. I'll be with you for a long time so I'll be able to without any problems." Nicholas told her with a smile.

"Or you just need to work out more." Faye joked. "Besides, I didn't think it was that heavy..." she said turning her eyes upward, as if trying to see her key as she wobbled and tilted her head a bit trying to test the weight.

Nicholas laughed at the joke since it was true. He was a pansy and didn't do much of anything that involved physical activity. "I guess your right." He said with a smile. "I'll get used to it anyway. I already can carry you on my shoulder so I guess it won't be that bad." He said. All he had to do was work on his lung capacity and make his chest stronger so the key didn't crush his lungs. "We can still shorted the horns though right? I really don't want to skewer you whenever a lay my head down on your shoulder." He told her, knowing how hard it was to adjust his head so the horns wouldn't poke her.

"Easily done!" Faye said with a smile, poking at the tip of one of Nicholas' horns before getting up to head to her worktable to retrieve what looked like a giant file like carpenters would use.

"I don't mind short you make it as long as I'm able to lay on your shoulder without skewing your face." He said to her half-jokingly.

"Bah, it'd heal right up in a matter of seconds." Faye said waving his worries away as she walked back over carrying the file, along with a bucket and a shabby square of cloth like you'd wear when getting a hair cut.

"But I still don't want to stab your face. Even if it would even hurt you I don't want to tamper with your face that's all." Nicholas said to her. Sure, she's a zombie, but to him, her face was perfect in every way and would feel guilty if he ever made a mark on his face.

((I think you got your pronouns a little mixed up at the end thar. xD ))
"I don't have horns, so I can't say whether or not this will hurt. Might take a bit though." Faye said covering his torso with the cloth like a hairstylist before filing away at his horns, letting the shavings fall into the bucket as she whittled away at them.

(I just noticed. lol I'm going to bed after this. night!)
"Well I really don't want to find out if it does." He said as she started to shorten the horns. After a good amount of shaving, the horns were now only about 3 inches tall, still curly as usual. Nicholas felt his horns to see how short they were. "Much better and smoother too. Now lets see if its short enough." He said and laid his head onto her shoulder, his horns not going anywhere near her face. "Perfect. You did a wonderful job with my horns. Thanks Faye." He said with a very child like smile with his head still on her shoulder.

"Shame I can't do the same." Faye said leaning her head towards his just enough so she could lightly tap him with her key a bit.
