Now, there were certain words, phrases, and mostly actions that made Sy get so flustered she fainted like some frail little Disney princess. A kiss on the lips would make her swoon, for example. Having Aly say such a taboo word to her made her enraged enough to knee him where the sun don't shine, but at the same time it also made her terribly embrassed.

So she fainted right there on the floor, like someone's little twiggy soft-hearted maiden. How could people say such words!

It would come as no surprise to most that even as some two-bit mercenary she hardly ever said a word past "damn," unless under extreme frustration and duress.

After a moment or two she opened her eyes, her head slightly sore from where it hit the ground. It was hard to gauge, now, who she had embarassed herself in front of more, Orian or Kiro. >_< Rubbing the back of her head she looked at him apologetically.

"Uh... I'm s-sorry!" she stammered, sitting up quickly and trying her very best to reassure him she was all right. "It happens all the time. Some people just say things that make me... oh, I'm sorry, I'm rambling." A nervous pause.

"Did you just move here?"

"Oh yes, it takes more than a fainting spell to hurt this thick head of mine." She brushed herself off idly, trying to think of something smart to say, but the truth was she knew nothing of the other islands. This was the first she had heard of them being inhabited.

"I'm really sorry if I scared you. My name is Syrenrei." She smiled brightly as she extended a hand in friendship. Staying here seemed like a better and better idea... with all these kind people around she might have more friends than just those who were half-dead themselves.

Nodding with a slight smile, Kiro took the offered hand, shaking it. "Kiro... well, Anakiro, but I get called Kiro... Niyan," he added, tacking his surname onto the end.

He then turned in surprise at the sound of a soft growl behind him, his tail taking its protective place about his ankle.

Nyxa waved slightly and shot Luc a warning glance, but the little gryphon was paying her no mind. Shaking her head, she smiled at the two and nodded, "Yes, things are going pretty well, Syrenrei. I'm glad you're here, I wanted to ask you about someone I met the other day." She paused, eyeing the blonde. "Unless I'm interrupting something?"

Lucius trotted over to Syrenrei, twisting himself sinuously around her ankles much like a naughty kitten would do. Neckfeathers fluffed in pride as he heard her flattering tone, though a distracted swat was directed towards the man's ankle. Luc tilted his head and eyed the stranger, snapping his beak in an almost adorable threat.

Not sure what to make of the brief snap, Kiro felt his tail twitch nervously to the other ankle. He was a nervous boy normally, but he couldn't figure out if the creature was being playful or not.

He then glanced up to the young lady's question. Maybe it wasn't directed at him but he answered it anyway. "No... I don't think so..." He paused before continuing. "I'm Kiro by the way, I'm kind of new here." He offered a smile, then glancing back at the animal, not sure what to make of it - he'd never seen anything like it before.

Nyxa waved slightly to Kiro, "I'm Nyxa, and that little bugger is Luc. He's a little possessive, you'll have to excuse him. It's a pleasure to meet you." She turned her attention back to Syrenrei, gesturing, "We can talk later, I just had a few questions."

Luc churred softly as Sy pet him, tail lashing about in utter ecstacy. His ears swiveled, however, as he heard something approaching down the hallway. Black eyes glittered as he turned slightly to peer down the corridor warily, Kiro forgotten for now.
