She kept twirling around but then started to get dizzy so she stopped and him "I wish we were free" she says "Like fully free we can do whatever we want never have to worry about money, there would be no guns or weapons so no one could kill anybody that way. No more of that stupid ******** war going on"
Lia twirled again and this time fell onto the ground but she did is more slowly as she looked up at the sky. It was cold out but she didn't care.

“That would be nice. No need for food, or water, or jobs. Just don’t things…because you want to do something, not because you have to. Things to better yourself. Spiritually and otherwise.”
The Valentines were not…religious, as it were; if pressed, they always answered Roman Catholic, as that was the mass they attended on the Big Two holidays. They were, however, extremely superstitious, although they always tried to play it off as otherwise. Emerson shrugged, and took another drag on his cigarette. Seeing the Yank’s stumbling steps, he offered out a short warning…
“Careful!”
…But it was too late; Lia had fallen to the ground. She didn’t look too worse for wear though, so he just shrugged it off, as she did. He strolled over casually and sank down to the ground beside her, Indian-style, his back towards her legs so that he faced her. The grasses smelt good, this low to the ground, and it tickled him even through the material of his trousers. He took another drag before asking softly:
“If and when we’re free, what would you do then, Yank?”

She looked up at the stars when he asked her that question as she thought about it. "I would travel to the most beautiful cities and the most exciting ones just because I could" she said "There would have to be food because I would want to sample each one once" she added holding up a finger.
She sat up so she was closer to him as she glanced up at the stars "Even though it's not possible I would love to just one time see or talk to my mother again cause I do miss her"
Lea smiled no sadness in her eyes about talking to her mom. She looked over at him her face close to his as her hand touched his neck "I would kiss you anytime without worried about having a committed relationship" she told him.

"Each piece of food in the world? Tall orders for a chef."
Emerson smiled. He ground out his cigarette in the fresh grass and tucked the butt away; he followed Lia's gaze up to the sky, to the stars. He never really stopped in his busy life to just look at them, to wonder at the mysteries of the universe. He turned back to Lia when he felt her chilly hand on his neck.
"Kiss away; how could I say no to a face like that? Relationships are overrated and usually end up in heartbreak. You look so sad, whenever you speak of your mother. Everything is better in hindsight, Yank, you know that."
He leaned over and kissed Lia for the third time that night; Em loved the way she tasted on his lips: spicy and sweet and a little smoky all at once. He pulled back a little after a few second, so his lips tickled against Lia's when they moved but they weren't really kissing.
"Lingering on the past when the future is open to you is just...self-destructive."

She smiled keeping her face still close to his "it's not lingering in the past if the person I'm thinking about was one of the most important one in my life" she said to him. "And it's perfectly normal to miss her, missing her never let's me forget her and I can miss her without making my life self destructive, I've been perfectly normal, happy with my life." She gave a little chuckle. "I'm as normal as I can be" she added.
After she finished her little speech she brought herself closer, closing the distance between them and pressing her lips against hers, it might have been weird to kiss him after that little speech but her lips still longed to feel his and she loves the tingeling sensation from his kiss.

"It's still lingering. You're not evolving yourself to be a better person, when you keep remembering your mother, like that. Especially since thinking about her makes you look so terribly...tragic."
Emerson reached up to brush away a wild strand of Liana's hair out of her face. He smiled gently, and kissed her nose cutely. Abruptly, he turned the conversation back to his sister. Safe grounds. He wanted Liana, but he didn't want it to be weird; he actually liked this girl. Sleeping with her on the first day they met would definitely make things weird.
"Were you ever a fan of bedtime stories, Yank? Amelia couldn't get enough of them when we were little. I suffered through such tales as you'd never believe. The more girlish they were, the more she loved them. It drove me crazy."

She just shook her head and then leaned back against the grass and her head tilted up as she yet again looked at the stars. "I used to listen to fairytales when I was a real little girl but as I grew up they stopped and then mostly every girl comes to realize-" she paused and looked over at him "if you want a fairytale you have to make your own" she shrugged.
Leaning forward she sighed rested her arms on her knees. "Is it difficult for Amelia to have a relationship?" she asked him "I see how protective you are of her even at dinner and it must make things hard when guys can't her as easily as they can with other girls"

"If you have to make your own fairytale, then it's not really a fairytale, is it? It sounds like a tragic way to loose your innocence. More tragic even, then your first time, with that Dead boat of yours."
Emerson's face softened when he started to talk of Amelia.
"I...don't like her being alone with guys. They tend to try and take advantage of her, and I wouldn't be around to help her, if she needed it. I don't want her to get hurt. It would kill me, if that little spark of whatever makes a person were to go out of her eyes. I hate that to happen to anyone, but especially her. Maybe it's because she's another extension of myself,"
He shrugged and rested his cheek against his knees.

Liana nodded her head slowly "I can relate to how you feel" she said thinking about her father and how much it killed him to loose his wife and how he couldn't look at Lia for weeks because she's basically almost a splitting image of her mother but younger.
She grinned as she looked at him again looking over the emotions on his face "I think it's sweet how much you care about your sister and it's nice that even though it's driving you crazy you're giving her alone time with a guy. She's not stupid though at least not from the little time I had been with her so I don't think she'll do anything stupid that would wind up her being hurt" she says "And if she does get hurt and loose that light in her eyes, it will come back to her it almost always does"

"Do you have a picture of her? You hit me as the kind of girl to have your family in locket. Or one of those awful raised portrait necklaces. What're they called? The kind that look like they're carved from bone, or something?"
Emerson thought those things, whatever they were called, were perfectly dreadful things. Who'd want a bone picture of a dead man, anyway? Too damn depressing, that's what they are.
"I guess you're right, and she is brilliant. I just don't want to take the change of her....not springing back. You know? I'm probably wrong. Just insane. Over-protective."
He shrugged and turned his head towards his new friend.
"Have you ever been broken? No more light?"

"One picture" Lia started "That I keep around with me but I don't have it on me it's in my dorm room in a frame any other pictures of my mother are in my photo album." she told him "I don't like those lockets or whatever you just described, lockets are too small to be able to actually see the person's face in them" she said which was her opinion.
Lea thought about the last time she was broken as she was already nodding her head to his question "Yes I was broken before it was about a year ago but I'm perfectly fine now and no I don't wish to talk about it" she says incase he wanted to ask her what happened it's definetly not another memory she is fond of. Her eyes stayed on him "What about you? You ever had your heart broken just a yes or no answer you don't need to tell me about it"

An unexpected revelation about the insight of Liana's psyche. Emerson was sucking it up like a sponge in a bubble bath with a squeaky baby. He smiled, at this image as his overactive imagination kicked in. The heroin only fueled the crazy play land that was his mind. Amelia was always ragging on him to get his head out of the clouds. It was bothersome, some times, but with others, it was highly adorable.
"I have no will to give you the story, but yes, I've been around the block a couple of times. So to speak. Hm, what else to ask? What else to learn? Your middle name?"

She chuckled as she suddenly laid back again but this time rested her head on his thigh as her hands rested on her stomach. She closed her eyes for a little as she heard his question "It's very simple to me" she says "It's Annabella" she told him "At first my parents didn't intentionally have my annitals sound like Lam but it ended up working out and that was what they had called me when I was a little girl, my mother would say I'm her little Lam, cheesy but it was cute" she said and smiled letting out a small amused laugh.
Her eyes opened as she looked up at him "What's your middle name?" she asked.

"I like it; it's adorable."
Emerson's hand dropped down into Liana's hair of its own accord. The digits became quickly entangled the the yank's soft hair, lost in that maze of golden delight.
"It's *Haplo. It's Russian; it means 'the alone one.' Supposed to mean I'm this great leader of mean, but only if I work alone. Or something like that. I think father was drunk when he sighed the papers at my birth."
He shrugged. His father was often drunk, but usually a much higher functioning drunk.

She kept her eyes on him when he talked and her head tilted a little to the side. "So do you not like your father?" she asked him curiously "Is he a drunk or were you just joking around" She blinked for a moment as she took a deep breath in and out, wondering if he was really serious and then it made her wonder if all childrens parents were bad or maybe just rich parents were bad to their children.
