"Another Pack..." she repeated. She thought the idea was... well actually he was right. "You are correct, only so many voices can be heard and only so many ears can be counselled." She exhaled and nodded slowly. "So, another Tournament?" she asked uncertainly. She was glad he was talking to her and not the whole pack right now... it might not have gone too well if the whole pack had heard this all at once. "That could be really stressful on top of everything, especially the darkness... if it attacks us when we're vulnerable, fighting amongst ourselves for a second leader... it could be fatal." she said with some concern. She looked at the male and steeled herself. They could figure some thing out. "First off, I suggest picking two elders as advisors."

User ImageWatching Fairyn turn and leave with Icarus made his heart heave quietly. He knew that Fairyn was loyal to him but the concern on her face was not exactly for him and although Icarus was his alpha, he was still just a twinge jealous even if he shouldn't be. So as she turned away to speak to the orange male he turned to head into the forest. If Fairyn wanted him she could howl for him, he would be safe on his own. So he walked into the forest's trees and vanished into them. This would give him time to think about all the things he wanted to, such as family and the future he could have for them.

Icarus shook his head at her suggestions, she clearly didn't get the point he was getting to. He stared at her with narrowed eyes and furrowed his brow. "We have no elders, Faiyrn. They left with those who went after the Darkness." Icarus didn't mention that they had not returned, as it was implied... He listened to her words carefully, letting them sink in before replying. "I agree, another tournament would be very stressful." Pale-blue eyes watched her, waiting for something to click inside her, wondering if she would rise to the position.

"I think you should try creating a pack, Faiyrn. I trust these wolves under your care." He began to pace once more, glancing at her every few minutes. "We needed a tournament to decide the first pack, prove who was able out of those willing. You proved yourself in your matches, wolves of my pack already know your strength." Icarus nodded, knowing that this would be best for the wolves he was to care for. If they all stayed in his pack, some would be neglected because of the numbers.

Icarus padded up to Faiyrn, stopping a few feet from her and peered at her. "I think if you became a leader, there are wolves that would follow you."

User Image He was large. Oh, yes, he was large. And the forest around him knew it, sent birds fluttering through the trees away from his path and branches shaking in ways that sounded like a storm rising on the horizon: a big storm. And it was a natural sound, because he was a Sure-Claw after all, and the northern wolves were all about nature; nonetheless, it was an enormous sound.

For it was the small wolves of his pack whose steps made wind-sounds, and rustle-sounds. Sjunheal the Bear-Clawed made thunder, and the dark of his eyes were the rainclouds, and the flash of his talons the lightning.

Luckily, there was nothing but the thunder today. No sound except the storm-shuddering of boughs rattled out as Sjun passed, and the bass timbre of his voice hummed some bawdy warsong of his puphood. The intimidating beast seemed not to have a care in the world as he passed on - right beside two small warrior wolves, having a parlay in the wood. He noticed them just in time to avoid passing them over quietly, and stared at the two little ones - adults they were, he realized, but all wolves were little to him! - with all curiosity, and contemplative lips drawn back over massive teeth. For that moment, Sjunheal watched them soundlessly, and with all his darkness in his large eyes.

Icarus flinched back as the thundering creature came close to romping over him. The massive creature loomed over them, almost a tree itself. Icarus leaped backwards, putting plenty of space between himself and the beast, peering at Faiyrn to ensure she was also a safe distance away. It appeared that their conversation would have to wait some time, hoping that the femme had caught the last part of his declaration.

Blue eyes narrowed at the beast, for a moment he panicked, thinking it was a bear. Icarus' fur bristled and his hackles raised. He searched the beast's eyes for intention, though they seemed to be innocent enough. At last, something inside him clicked with the fact that it was a wolf. A rather massive wolf, but still a wolf.

He barked out at the wolf, "Stranger, who are you?" He called out, hoping his voice would reach the creature. Icarus hoped his straightforwardness would not appear rude, he'd rather not anger such a large wolf.

User Image Those dark eyes blinked as Sjun's head followed the brighter of the wolves, looking both at his color and his quick tromp backwards - splintering several needles on the way, but he did do it quietly. Ah, Haven, they were still all alike.

"Hmmm." His lips fell back down, concealing his fangs, as Sjunheal cocked his head at the wolf who spoke to him. "Who am I? Who're you seems the better question, m'lad." His voice was just as it was when he hummed, bass deep and low in his barrel. "Asking those sort o' questions like that, ou' here in the wood. Although I am sorry - didn' mean to interrupt your... lovers' spat?" A rumble of laughter followed Sjun's guess. Even were it not true, it was always an amusing assumption to make!

Icarus did not like the feeling of being so small compared to this being. His fur stood on end, trying to make himself appear larger in anyway. He was about to declare that he was on his territory when he indirectly asked if he and Faiyrn were lovers.

The mere thought flattened his ears, to think of her in that way was appalling to him. Not that she was not a suitable mate or wasn't beautiful, but the fact that Faiyrn was like a sister to him made it such an outrageous idea. Icarus quickly realized he was growing mad and took a breath to calm himself. The wolf spoke odd, omitting letters from his words.

"We were having a discussion about the pack." He said calmly, masking his outrage at the creature. "The pack whose territory you are currently on." Icarus barked, allowing a low growl to slip into his words. He took a few steps forward, trying to grow comfortable with the beast. "I am Icarus, Alpha of the new pack." He rose his chin so his face would match the beast-like wolf's.

User Image Yes, it was always amusing! Sjunheal chuckled under his breath - making more of a low rumble than any discernible laughter - and sat, in his efforts to ease the puffy young wolf's. It was his fault, yes, yes, for antagonizing him so. Now the Bear-Clawed was on his best behavior, he promised himself, his word on't. He even sat like a bear, pushing both hind-legs out before him and his forepaws squarely in the middle.

"Well!" Sjunheal's ears perked forward at the bright wolf's proclamation, lips tilting up at the corners in incorrigible amusement. "Excuse me, leader-of-wolves, sir! Wasn't aware the Haven chose a new head - wouldn' have figured enough of you stayed behind for that." His ears flattened temporarily at Icarus' growl before springing back up again, but the look in his eyes was... hurt? Some offense? Some mixture of the two. "Well, Icarus, Alpha of this land, you're speakin' to Sjunheal the Bear-Clawed. And I'm just passin' though, so don't get your tail in a twist."

The bear-like wolf's amusement bothered Icarus, his lip twitched in response. He shook his head, trying to leave the discomfort. The creature didn't seem to be intentionally trying to anger him, it was just a part of his personality. It had probably been the wolf's assumption between him and Faiyrn. It shocked him to see the wolf sit in such a manner, the wolf truly was like a bear. Icarus idly wondered how the beast would act when angered or agitated... Quickly he moved his mind off that topic, preferring not to think about what those massive claws could do damage-wise.

Icarus flattened his ears at the mention of his old pack, he almost interrupted the wolf to clear up the misunderstanding. Icarus was about to correct him when he saw the near-hurt in his eyes and decided to remain silent. He took a breath and bowed his head in greeting to the wolf. "Welcome Sjunheal, to this land." Icarus said, raising his head. "Though, this territory is no longer of the Haven Pack. Wolves from all of the old packs have joined together to form this pack." He said, letting the information sink in. Then he added, "We'd welcome you among our numbers if you'd like." The blue-eyed wolf looked hard at the brown wolf, wondering if the carefree Sjunheal would settle into his pack.

User Image Sjun gave him his speech, noting the speed with which the younger wolf changed his tact. He returned the offered bow with a dip of his own head, but moved not an inch more until Icarus had finished speaking. Then, one great paw lifted to rub pensively beneath the bearwolf's chin. It did indeed take some time for Icarus' words, and the situation they entailed, to sink in for the big wolf. Even after they did, he still had quite a bit to contemplate.

"A new pack from the ashes of the old, y'say." The paw traveled, rubbing at the side of his face. "And you to lead it? I see, I see..." Sjunheal's ears laid flat back against his skull, and he seemed lost in thought. "And you've got all types, back in his pack o' yours? Even the mountain wolves, in there?" He stared hard back at the Alpha. This question seemed very important to the bearwolf; enough so that a bit of the carefree attitude fell away from him, and a direness and darkness came through in his gaze.

Tiki looked down at the pup, "Umm thanks and you could try." She replied, smiling at the little she-wolfs excitement. Marie's voice was so pretty, this might be easy for her to learn, though, teach some one to call birds? Maybe Olek would be better for that. Tiki searched the sky, then wistled softly, luring a pretty white dove to land softly in front of her and Marie. This skill was good for hunting, because the prey would come straight to you. She turned to Marie, "Now you try, dear," Tiki said. She looked around at all the wolves, this pack is getting to big...

((First Post! biggrin ))

Time seemed to pass so quickly. Kitsch had forgotten what day it was and how long he had been on his own. Only the sun, which hung bright in the sky, beamed down to earth at Kitsch's only companion. He remembered the events a few days earlier. The rushing water, the gathering of wolves. It had been exhausting. At one point Kitsch had managed to forget his hunger and loneliness, but now it all came rushing back. He still held his head high, regardless, and marched on.

After the successful rescue of the odd tortoise, the wolves seemed to dissipate. They all seemed to have places to go. After meeting with the orange wolf, who seemed to be quite a gentle soul, Kitsch had taken shelter under a fallen log. These forests were strange to him. He had once lived in the great planes, where the earth was dry and the air was cool. But these forests were clustered with trees of many kinds, and it made Kitsch feel uncomfortable.

He had woken up late, the rays of sun peeking under the log. He poked his head out. No one. He sighed, and starting to wander through the woods, hoping to find a beetle for breakfast.

Kora had been quietly practicing her pheasant hunting,- as A'cuil had taught her as a pup- and building up her strength when she heard someone coming into the woods, almost behind her. She calmly turned around and immediately brightened when she saw 'Dragos. Still getting over the excitement of gaining a father, she was always happy to see him. She ran up to him, tail wagging happily, when she saw something was bothering him.

"Whats the matter, father?" she asked soberly.

User ImageWhen he stepped forth from his small trip into the woods to clear his head he had a small red-orange creature on his back that seemed to be gripping his fur for dear life. "Oghren you having trouble?" Came Andragos' slight wheezing laugh. Running to the river and spending some time away from the pack had cleared his head and allowed him to not think about what Fairyn and Icarus were talking about. However when he returned they still weren't there and dismay dropped on his face. When he saw Kora coming up he told Oghren to 'play nice'. He gave her a grin that betrayed his feelings, trying to feel hopeful now that Kora was his daughter, that Fairyn was his mate, and this shelled creature was his good friend. "Oh. Just thoughts. Don't mind an old man and his worries." He bent down so that Oghren could climb down, who did it on shaky legs. "This creature, well turtle, is Oghren. Our new friend just like Olek."

User ImageGrimacing at the fact that he had to cling to dear life on the wolf was both exciting and yet a blow to his pride. "Crazy wolf." He chuckled and then looked up at the beautiful brow wolf with the colorful flowers. "It is nice to make your acquaintance Kora." Then he looked at Andragos, "She doesn't exactly have the same markings as you but I can see the spirit is close to the same." He was being a bit snarky but it was in his most gentlest way.

Marie's self training had been working rather well and when Liliana attempted to pounce on her she turned on the spot and jumped up, catching the female, wrapping her paws around her in a hug, laughing as they fell tumbling down. She licked the female's cheek, her tail wagigng. "Hey Lilly." she said happily. She looked at Tiki when she whistled and watched in admiration as a dove flew down. It was beautiful. She paused and tried to whistle. It came out a strange spitting sound. She manipulated her mouth a few times, trying to create a whistle, and when she succeeded in figuring out how to do it, she looked around and whistled softly. A mocking bird flew down and looked at her curiously. She whistled a couple times and took a surprised step back when the mocking bird copied her. "Did... Did I do it right?" she asked, looking at Tiki in confusion.
