Edel was quiet for a moment, her dark eyes staring at the ring. A frown crossed her features, then she looked back up at Luke. "Well....I'll need you to come with me so that I can get a sample of your blood. It takes more than just a simple needle for me to properly use your DNA...and you'll probably pass out from the spell. So...best you're lying down for it." she replied.

Luke stretched his muscles a bit, and nodded, moving closer to Edel.
"Yes ma'am," he said to her politely. "Lead the way."

Edel smiled a bit, then stood and walked towards the door. She led Luke upstairs and towards one of the guest bedrooms on the opposite hall from the one Alex was in. She opened the door for him, and motioned for him to lie down on the bed. "Just make yourself comfortable. I'll be right back with a few things I'll need."

Luke did as requested, and when Edel left, the only thing he could think was: Oh my God, I might be a father...

He might be the father..." Edel thought as she gathered a few jewels from her cupboard.
Perhaps just letting him know was...not the smartest thing to do. If he was, and he was this excited about being a father...then the information would be all that he would think about. It would be a huge distraction for him, and given his line of work, was not a good thing. And it she had any idea what Alex was like given what she knew about the girls history...this would be a bit of a blow. Not that it was intentional or anything but....she doubted that the child would want to be in the way of someone who wanted to be a parent this badly.
Not to mention the fact that no one could do anything about Atropos until it was "time". Whenever that was going to be.
There was just way too much going on right now. X, the heroes being kidnapped, that particular being, Black Lanterns, Atropos being kidnapped....
With a frown, she gathered what she needed, then turned to head back to the room.

Luke managed to calm himself down, and he closed his eyes, waiting.
"I'm ready, Miss Edel," he said to her, keeping himself calm.

Edel smiled a bit and entered the room. She placed a glass vile on the stand beside the bed, and placed some of the stones around it to hold it up. Then she placed a larger stone over his heart, and then...glanced at the remaining stone in her hand. Carefully, she placed it on his forehead.
"Alright, try not to move. You'll probably feel something pulling at your chest, but it won't be painful. Don't be alarmed by it. And...I imagine you'll still get light headed despite your powers. If you pass out, I'll leave you to rest for a while and....hm....send you in a fresh outfit." she said, glancing down at his bloody and nearly non-existant shirt.

Luke tried not to smile.
"Thank you kindly, ma'am. Second time this week that I've lost my shirt..." he said to Edel, his eyes still closed.

Edel smiled. "Well then, perhaps I'll leave you with something that's much harder to tear."
With that, she closed her eyes and placed her fingers on the vile next to her. The stone on Luke's chest began to glow, and a moment later his entire body was engulfed in a deep crimson light. The stone on his forehead began to glow as well, and began erasing Luke's memory of the last half an hour or so.
Since he would be passing out, it seemed like the easiest time to erase their little conversation about Atropos.
Soon, the vile beside Edel began to fill up with a dimly glowing red liquid. After a few moments, the glow of the stones died down, and the spell was over.

And when the spell ended, Luke was asleep, looking quite peaceful. He'd wake up by the time Edel left the room.

With a small smile, Edel gathered up her stones and slid them into her pocket. She then picked up the vile and carefully carried it out of the room with her.

After Edel left, Luke woke up... and began to wonder why he was lying down on a bed. The last thing he remembered was giving the Black Ring to Edel... and then suddenly he was waking up. No blackness on thought in-between the two, just then and now.
Deciding to think about that later, Luke got up and went to the room Alex was in, to check on her.

Alex wasn't on the bed where Lucas had left her, but the covers had been ruffled and move as though she had been there. The door to the closet was closed, and the door on the other side of the room was ajar.

Luke sniffed the air, trying to catch Alex's scent, and moved out of the door on the other end of the room.
"Alex?" he asked aloud. "You here?"

There was no reply, but Alex's scent was coming from inside the room. As well as the scent of lavender and other aromas intended to help one relax.
