OOC: Sorry I haven't posted. I was in Virginia until Sunday and worked a few 12 hour shifts the past few days. Hope nobody minds me taking the liberty of getting the X-Men home.

IC:

It seemed like an eternity to the team, but the X-Jet hovered above their location before the evening started to dawn. There was a clearing big enough for the Jet to lower and open the back hatch for the students to climb in.

They helped Morgan into the Jet and buckled in. Victor moved towards the front where the X-Men were to start giving a full report of their activities.

And there was food... Penny felt like she hadn't eaten in days. She didn't complain about the miserable 'airline' food. She sat back with a bottle of soda and popped some peanuts in her mouth.

The jet touched down somewhere to refuel with collegues of Xavier and then it headed back to Bayville. Penny dragged her tired self out of the jet and was ushered to the Infirmary with the rest of the team to get checked out and be given the okay to resume normal activity.

"Well, that was exciting," Penny said sitting in the chair while McCoy started checking out the students.

"Oh, you're not done yet," McCoy said to them, "You can't get out of this kind of thing without giving an official report. Report to the War Room once you're done here."

"Welcome to the Xavier Institute," A voice said as a studious looking man came around a corner in a wheel chair. It was hard to tell if his mouth had been moving when he was talking but was his voice just in her head? Xavier often greeted his students on first meeting with his telepathy just to let them know that he is a mutant as well.

"I am Professor Charles Xavier, and this is my school. Gen, I am glad you have joined us. I think you will fit in well here," He put his hand out and motioned her to come with him.

"If you will follow me, we can talk in my office," He started to wheel back out of the main corridor towards his office, "Forgive the emptiness, many of our students are just returning from a field trip and everybody else is in school right now."

"Sir, when I was in the base, I was injected with some sort of serum. I don't know the full extent of what it will do, but so far, my powers don't seem to be working. Is there anything we can do to discern the other affects, if any, of the injection?" Morgan asks McCoy.

"They injected you with a serum? What kind of serum? Did they say anything specific?" McCoy replies, a quizzical look on his face.

"The only thing I can recall is that the scientist who injected me said that the serum was created of the... What was it again? Oh yes. He said it was derived from the mutation-specific part of the genetic code of one of the mutants in the facility, and it was laced with the nanobots produced by another."

"Nanites and mutant genetics, eh? I think it would be best if you stayed here for now. We'll run a few tests to see what kind of effect it will have on you. Rest assured, it's probably going to have an effect."

OOC: Time lapse, whoooaaa!!

IC: Having classes at the local High School was bad enough, especially for someone as disinterested in public education as Anna, but the worst kind of classes were the ones that were taught by the professors at the Xavier Institute. Xavier had a way of picking tutors that was simply surgical in it's precision. One of the best examples of this was Anna's next class. Psychology and Sociology. Taught by none other than Kimberely Raines, the noted emo-spaz that graced the newspapers for more than a year after one little tantrum. Anna made no haste towards the classroom.

It had been a day or two since everyone had arrived back safely from the Savage Lands, and depsite a few shaken up people, the place was more or less back to normal, at least at the Institute, and at least as far as Anna knew. Xavier felt it was important to get everyone absorbed back into their routines, that it would be best for everyone to act as though nothing serious had happened. He was usually right.

Anna reached the classroom door and gave way to two guys as they proceeded in to take their seats. She followed behind them, and took her usual spot, right at the back of the classroom. A few of her other friends took the same class, but not many. Psychology just wasn't as big as Science, especially when you were constantly surrounded by people that defied all common knowledge of science. People started paying more attention to how things worked, rather than how people worked. Even Anna had opted for Biology classes, but Xavier felt it was important for Anna to learn about the human psyche n order to come to terms with some of her insecurities, like her unwillingness to be close to other people. She still wished she'd taken Biology.

Kim swept into the room carrying an armful of papers and research material. "Good afternoon, class." she cheerfully, dumping the papers down on her desk at the front and coming to rest in front of it. Her attire was normal, white clothing, flowing. Long blonde hair let loose, and with her figure, she always looked stunning. A little known fact was that when she was teaching, Kim actually wore reading glasses. It did very little to make her appear the intellectual sort. Anna murmered out a "Afternoon, Miss Raines." along with the other voices in the room. Most of the guys in the class never slouched. It was disgusting, watching them all behave and pay attention to their teacher like that, when all they were doing was hoping she'd invite them back after class for a little extra-credit work. Trouser-thinkers. It was almost disturbing to think that the woman lecturing the students was barely 3 years older than them. Seemed almost perverse. Still, she knew her work and it showed.

Kim began her class as cordially as ever. "Today we'll be looking at the topic of Suggestion. That is, the willful, psychological encouragement forced upon others, intended to result in a desired effect."

Anna slouched back in her seat and picked up a pencil, absently jotting small pictures of trees and animals onto her desk as Kim explained away.

"... substantially increase the likelihood of the desired outcome. This can be provided in many ways, all too subtle to pick up immediately. A certain tone of voice, specific words used, a certain physical stance. All of these things can play a very important role in how effective Suggestion can be. Can anyone tell me an example of simply suggestion in which specific words can be used to establish a more positive outcome to a situation?"

There was quiet for a little while, until a young man raised his hand. Kim pointed to him and nodded. He spoke.

"Umm, like... When you use the word 'please' when you're asking a favour of someone?"

Kim nodded with a smile. "Good. Simple words like 'please' can certainly establish a more solid, grateful feel when asking something. It's more effective that just asking someone to do something. Anyone else?"

Anna hesitated a moment, but raised her hand. Miss Raines saw this and nodded to her. Anne spoke a little quietly at first, but cleared her throat and spoke clearly.

"When a cashier totals up the cost of something, they always say 'That's fifty dollars, thank you'."

Kim smiled in approval. "Good example, why do they say that?"

"Well, by saying 'thank you' to them, it makes them think they've already committed to paying and are being thanked for it, so they have less inhibitions about forking over their money."

"Great, thank you, Anna. Yes, common polite language can be a powerfully effective tool when making psychological suggestion, and I want to discuss with you the..."

Kim's voice occupied the classroom, while Anna sat at her desk, no longer paying much attention to the lecture, prefering to sharped the tip of her pencil to a pinprick with her fingernail. She looked around the classroom to see what her friends were doing.

ooc: yippy! rp time!! *wave* hey psylight. i don't think you remember me much but regina is an xmen too. so is gen for that matter... but regina is going to be in psychology at least.

ic:

Gen blinked at the professor. "Is that so? From my understanding, this place isn't normal. Well, neither am I so that's no surprise..." she looked around.
So far it wasn't impressing her. The fact that everyone was away on a field trip made her wonder just how much "fun" this place was supposed to be considering her parents had told her flat out it was for special kids like her. Gen wasn't stupid. She knew what that meant. People like her that had weird powers.

Regina listened to the teacher drone on about psychology. She found it more interesting to analyze people based on their thoughts and actions than the meaning of the word thank you and in what context it was used. She yawned a bit and looked around. She liked the kids from the brotherhood and wondered when they'd be back from wherever they had taken off to.

OOC: I odn't know if I'll be able to NPC as the professor this weekend. I'm driving my stepdaughter home and that's 12 hour trip smile I probably won't be back on till monday.

IC:

Penny didn't mind the extra classes when she got back from high school. The ones at Xavier's usually had better substance for mutants compared to the ones at Bayville. Psychology, though, wasn't a particular favorite. Her advisor, Ororo, recommended it highly to her... well, Ororo pretty much signed her up for the class whether she liked it or not.

She thought Kim was rather boring that day. She didn't mind Kim as a teacher... teachers can be of all makes. Besides, they all had their demons here.

She didn't really participate. She mostly sat there quietly taking notes on the few things she deemed important, but mostly doodled a dragon down the side of her notebook. She really wanted to know more about what makes people tick... not saying please and thank you at the grocery store.

ooc: is okay penance. noko will or someone else will i'm sure... well hopefully anyways. or gen will just wander off knowing her.

ic:
Regina yawned and looked at penny, thinking she was probably thinking the same thing. Glancing at her "notes" she noticed the dragon and smiled a bit. ~huh... someone else interested in dragons. she's a pretty good doodler...~

Scratching out a note, she folded it to a tiny size and passed it onto the other girl's desk rather discretely.

"hey penny. did ororo sign you up for this class too? i wonder if they had a poor sign up for it voluntarily... wonder when we'll get into the analization of people."

I already know all about please and thank you... Learned 'em in a little something called pre-school... Morgan thought to himself as he stared in the general direction of the teacher, trying to look interested. He rubbed at the injection site on his neck. It was still a little swollen, but it had definitely become less severe.

I wonder when those test results are going to be done... I want to know what it was that the bastards put in me... His thoughts wandered back to the last few hours in the Savage Land, and on Astral's last words...

"This is something we have to do..."

They're dead... Dead, and I couldn't do anything to stop it...

"Now, since we have a few basics covered, we can tackle some of the more truly effective forms of Suggestion. Being someone who influence minds to some degree, Suggestion for me is made quite simple, as it is for people like Professor Xavier. You see, Suggestion is not simply a way of steering events possibly in your favour, but in many cases that suggestion is so powerful that it can be classed as mind-control."

Kim continued on the subject for a few more moments before she turned to one young man and looked sternly at him.

"Clive, did you finish the homework I assigned?" she ordered.

"Yes, Miss Raines, I handed it in yester... day." he trailed off as a baffled look came accross his face.

"You didn't finish the homework, Clive? Please step outside the classroom and wait for me, then. We have to have a word about that." Kim resignedly said.

Clive, unassuredly stood up, and looked somewhat hang-dog as he walked to the door. But Kim laughed and called him back. "Thank you, Clive, for helping me with that demonstration. Please take your seat again." Anna watched in confusion, not really sure of what she just saw.

"Now," said Kim. "Clive certainly was going to go outside, we can be pretty sure of that. But what exactly did I do? Did I excercise my authority over him as a teacher? Yes, but that's only a small part of what I did."

Kim went on to detail how she, using her gifts, made Clive confused, and how in a state of confusion, the mind will grab for the first solid truths it can find. It was getting much more interesting than it first seemed, maybe because the teacher was playing mind-games with the students. Who knew? Anyway, it wasn't enough to keep Anna from taking out some paper and scribbling down a note on it.

"Penny, are you busy after class? I thought we could go to the Pizza Shack. Cough once for yes. xoxo"

She leant nonchalantly over and tapped Bobby Drake on the shoulder, asking him to pass the note to Penny.

Jamie sat in his seat, and he glanced away from the teacher to look at the other students. Huh, looks like I'm one of the only ones interested in this. Jamie was facinated by the human psyche, and was happy that he was finally somewhere with actuall teaching of it. Before all he knew was from observation.

Regina gave a little sigh, figuring it was more likely that she would be doing homework rather than going out. She wasn't very popular here either. She figured it was okay. Maybe she would find one of the professors that lived in the mansion and see about some training. She wanted to get her shadow powers to full strength and see what she could do.

((OOC: It seems like there really are people at the Institute...so I'll toss in Raine now...hope you peoples don't mind; but I'm bored here! >.< *laughs* Hm...Rainey isn't exactly a X-Men sided character though...Ah, well... I'm prattling on here, so I better just post before I really bore you guys...let alone myself! *please forgive the randomness...caffiene + lack of sleep = insane Kadi-chan*))

IC: Deep hued eyes of crimson blood ran themselves lightly over the immense structure before her. Movements of uncertainty...light but still somehow...dangerous...and the femora found herself standing before the doors. Once again, she hesitated, her expression shadowed by the cloak she wore over her even darker clothing, and then held out a hand as if she was going to lightly touch the surface of the doors and push them open; however her hand stopped not even an inch from its surface.

What was she doing here?

This wasn't her place.

She didn't like people; be they human or mutant...

As those thoughts raced loud and clear through her mind, there was a placated whine from beside her, and she allowed for those crimson optics to fall to the jeweled blue ones of her companion and friend, Katori. The canine tilted his head slightly to the side, both ears perked forward and giving her an inquisitive look.

"You're right...let's go."

The young woman mentally chided herself for her foolishness, turned, and slowly started to walk away...

((OOC: Yipe. I apologize for the shortness, but I got to head off to work or my fellow band members will gut me. They need their drummer... ^.^ I've left it off so the someone else could join in, so...yah... It'll be great to RP with you guys! Laters! *waves and heads off*))

OOC: Yes, Ginko, I recieved said letter. Thank you. And thank you, Psylight for the gracious comments pertaining to my last post. And Cloud, this two job thing isn't going to be TOO hard. Three nights at one place, three nights at the other with one day off? Meh...at least it's going to help me to go see Lamb of God in a month. ^_^ (Yes...and Kim. Never speak Spanish again. My people thank you.)

IC: Jacen looked on with disillusionment as he saw Magento's orbs fall from the sky to scoop them all up. Just another day, he thought as he climbed in one and let Magento do his thing.
____________________________________________________________

Hours had passed and suddenly, Jacen was thrust awake by a hard settling in the ground. After a second of grogginess, Jacen stepped out of the orb to see that where it was dark where they were at, it was mid-morning here at home. Magneto requested a report on where they were at, not a big deal if they were to have gone through more of the building. There were too many levels and not enough time while they were there.

"I think you should handle the report," he had heard John say. He almost didn't though. He was still wrapped up in his thought processes.

"Uh....yea. I'll get to that right now and get it out of the way," Jacen said as he waited a minute and followed the others into the house. He didn't really waste any time in getting said report done. When he got to his room, he grabbed up his commlink, a towel and some clean clothes. He knew he had some wounds to take care of, though he wasn't sure how he would take care of the one on his back.

When he got to the washroom, Jacen slipped his commlink on his ear and started to speak up while fishing for some rubbing alcohol.

"This is Acolyte Scion, reporting as per the regent's wishes," Jacen said while rummaging through various cabinets. "The facility we were located at was in the middle of a dense jungle...." While he spoke, he found the alcohol and started to go to work. "We didn't do much scouring of the building aside from trying to get us all out of there and to safety, though I learned that on the third basement level is where they house their computer mainframe. And they have detailed files on us."

There was a pause in his transmission as he dabbed alcohol on the cuts on his arms. He wanted to cuss or something, but he knew that wouldn't be proper with him still reporting in.

"Also," he continued as he looked over his arm and didn't think he'd need to bandage the wounds, "They seemed to be doing some sort of bio-experimentation. Lizard-men, Cougar-Men, etc. It's almost like a mutant version of 'The Island Of Dr. Moreau...."

He twitched a bit as he grazed the cut on his side he recieved from the fight with Penance. "Finally...." He stopped himself, then shook his head. "There seems to be something a bit sinister about that place, aside from what I've stated in this report. I ask, that if and when Lord Magneto goes to said facility that I go along as well. Scion out."

When he finished speaking, he looked at his side in the mirror. It wasn't a bad cut, not in the slightest, but it looked to be getting a tad infected. Carefully, Jacen let some alcohol soak into washcloth and immediately, he slapped it onto his side.

"AHHHHH!!!!!!!!! ********!!!!!!," Jacen screamed as he punched hard with his left hand, leaving a fist imprint in the bathroom wall.
_____________________________________________________________

About twenty minutes went by and he was done washing the blood, sweat, and jungle funk from him. "That's the last time some rogue operatives capture me," he thought as he quickly threw on some clean clothes, grabbed up his essentials; cigarettes, lighter, wallet, and headed out the door. When he stepped outside, he saw that there was really no one else around. Maybe Wanda and Freya had gone to their home? Who knew, honestly. All he knew was he was tired, but...he had waaaaaaaaaay too much on his mind. A little too much of the way too much.

"I need to do something to clear my mind....," he said to himself as he turned around and looked at the door.

"How about a walk in the park?"

Jacen turned around and saw that Freya was still there. "Uh...sure? I'm surprised your still here."

"Me too, but...." she paused for a second, "....How are you handling all this?"

"As well as could be," Jacen said, with a twinge of annoyance in his voice. In one swift motion, Jacen had a cig dangling from the corner of his mouth, already lit. And he was already starting to walk he way to the park. Without looking back, Jacen said rather loudly, "This was your idea for this walk. You coming or not?"

OOC: Apparently my brothe rin law has a wireless connection so I get to post today smile

IC:

Two notes, joy. She was half waiting for Kim to take them away. Penny took Regina's note and scribbled an answer. She had already started to become unhappy with the class. The subject matter got more interesting, but she felt that Kim's demonstration was starting to get over the top.

She noted to Regina, If it's not in the Danger Room, it's not popular around here. Anna wants to go get pizza after class, want to come? She waited until Kim had turned to face the board and flicked it with great ease and silence onto Regina's desk.

She noted to Anna, Pizza is great! I'm going to invite Regina. Want a girls night or see if the boys want to go to? Again, she folded it into a triangle and flicked it in silence back to Anna.

Of course, Penny wasn't agreeing with the ethics of the class at the moment.

"Ms. Raines, I have a question," Penny raised her hand and leaned over her desk, "I'm not quite sure how this goes into your subject matter, but what pscyhological effect does the use of... your powers per say... have on the idividual it is used again? Or a telepath like Ms. Grey or Prof. Xavier..."
