Oh, um, some translation for this chapter: sel'tur'lotha'uss - "soft little one," jibin'ust'dalharuk - literally "weak first son," I imagine there is a set term for Elderboy but I can't find it anywhere so we'll just leave it at that, it doesn't matter. Poor Jessie has always been soft, and his mother used it against him. Kindness is weakness where he comes from. OHOHOHO flashback to the conversation with Coline where she asks what it means. What, am I the only one who remembers that far back? D:

As for the curse on Cressa - Xsa'ulu'il jal'uoi'nota'ol avari! - it basically means "Damn her to hell for all eternity." Try learning how to say it and scream it randomly at someone. Drowic curses rock.

I like the amount of drowic that was used because it shows him slipping back into it as he gets more and more flustered and helpless.

Though I suppose I can reveal that this is one of those choices that isnt necessarily BETTER or WORSE, just.. different, very different.

Since that's the case, the Hint will give you an inkling of what's to come depending on what you pick rather than gesturing towards which you should choose.

PROGRESS REPORT:

Have worked on the next post for a couple of hours today, but have also been distracted by my mother and stuff, who's been here virtually all evening. I also have the next interlude to do after this, sooo be prepared for this to take up until/including Sunday to complete.

ALSO:

I've talked to Mab a little about this to get the opinion of a person who isn't me, but I've been thinking of shortening significantly or at least condensing the third scenario. Initially I thought about scrapping it entirely. This seemed viable because it held very little actual plot progress, and, I CAN reveal, focuses mainly on an unplanned conflict, alongside giving interesting information that just happens to be non-plot related.

Mab seemed very keen to get the full deal when I divulged further information on what I have planned, so the idea to cut it completely was scrapped, and so from then on I've just been thinking about and planning how to refine and "condense" it, if you will.

"Condensing" it means potentially leaving out entirely or keeping ambiguous the details of their eventual escape from the conflict, whereas before at least a third of the scenario was devoted to this aftermath - of which there were two potential courses, determined by a choice. It's a shame, because one potential sequence was very fun indeed, and both potentially gave greater depth to how the drow relate to the human society around them and two very different NPC characters to deal with, both of which have some relation to the greater storyline and BOTH of which's encounters were interesting in the broader picture, if you're a literature-phile such as myself and just love piecing the whole story together based on information collected over a long span of time.

Anyway, is there anyone else out here who has an opinion on this, or does it not matter either way?

I'm actually glad it's taking as long as it is, since the rp and all is moving so slowly. We need to get through the ball before ch2 can commence, and the two need to coincide to some extent. But still.. hopefully we'll be able to finish within the month!
