Seo ignored what she had said about killing anyone. Nobody's gonna die here. I will just get her away from Yukai then get youkai to the Hospital. Yeah thats it. Seo heard the girl coming it was easy to dode the attacks of a frontal attacker. He charged forward as well. He would try to be the first to attack.

He remained low, waiting for him to get close enough to strike. He came at girl with an uppercut. If it landed the girl would be launder skyward. His justsus were no joke. Seo was playing on defense. The punch was just to send the girl upward. He didn't want to kill her. He was prepared if it missed but even more ready if it didn't.

she closed her eyes and passed out, she had lost too much blood to stay awake much longer.

you could still see her breathing, it was slower then usual, but she was alive...just...

she just hoped there was one death here, and not two...

Haruka blinked at Yukai's complaint.

"E-eh--?! Sorry! I--I didn' mean to! You're jus' movin' too much..."

It was the distraction Yukai caused that made Haruka forget her assault and get nailed in the sternum. "Ggh--ck--!" Air was forced out of her lungs, but her expression was no more than mild surprise.

At the instance the hit connected, Haruka made to grab Seo's arm as the blood hovering around her wrists formed claws. The skyward hit would drag deep gashes up her assailant's forearm.

To the tolerant Haruka, a broken rib or two was worth tearing an opposing shinobi's arm to ribbons.

Seo upped the power of the pushing force of the jutsu when he realized that he had made contact. The jutsu would send her a very far away from him. Seo smelled the blood but his visual handicap prevented him from forseing the blood claw. His arm was cut up pretty bad. This would be the first time he was clawed up. He dealt with the pain.

He didn't waste any time and ran over to Yukai. He he quickly took his blindfold off and tied it around her arm to slow down the blood loss. He then picked her up and flung her over his shoulder. He ran as fast as he could to the village's gate. He hoped that he could get her to the village before the girl could recover and pursue them again.

if anyone looked at her face, it would be a deathly pale colour.

she looked dead, if you didn't hear or see her breathing, you would most likely assume the worst had happened to her.

she was beaten up pretty bad, the back of her clothes and hair were soaked in blood, she had a fist-shaped bruise on her stomach, and of course, her arm was missing. it would take at least a few days to stop any bleeding.

[are ya posting here or going to the village gate?]

Haruka blinked obliviously as she sailed through the air and into a tree some twenty-odd yards away with an air-shaking CRASH.

Elsewhere, her teammates looked up from their respective places patrolling the outskirts of the Village Hidden in the Clouds, feeling a sudden sense of dread. The young man growled in irritation while the girl shifted uneasily before catching up to him.

Meanwhile, Haruka gazed blearily down from the branch she was tangled up in at Seo and Yukai making their getaway. The latter was leaving an impressive trail of blood back to the village. Haruka tilted her head in observation, which caused her vision to swirl and darken.

"S-So this means I win, huh? I-If y'go survivin' that... you'd hafta be pretty darn tough..." Her eyes softened... or maybe she was just falling asleep.

"M-Maybe you can go usin' that toughness t'go 'bout becommin' a n-ninja worthy of our ice jutsu... Yeah... I think so... I... hope so."

As Haruka's body started to give out, her limbs came loose from the tree.

"Why's e'rythin' gettin' so dark..? It don't hurt that much..."

The Snow-nin fell from the treetops as a dead weight, only to be caught by her male teammate with a grunt.

"G--HARU...ka... JEEZE--she's totally unconscious..!"

"Ah!" the other female caught up quickly, "Don't move her around too much! I think her lung's been punctured--ah, damnit. Her ribs are totally smashed..." She hastily set to work with glowing, green medical jutsu. The young man carefully set Haruka down on the ground.

"And here I thought she was some kind of juggernaut..."
"Just because she's used to getting punched in the face doesn't mean she doesn't need oxygen."
"...What do you suppose happened to the target..?"
"That was definitely the target's blood all over. With the amount shed, I'd seriously be surprised if she made it back to the village--let alone to a hospital that'd be able to save her. No matter how you think about it, she's not gonna be a ninja again, much less practice ice jutsu."

Timmy, the man, snorted skeptically and leaned against the tree. "Ain't both of the Yukikage's sisters one-handed? The ones who fought in the War?"

Feral managed to roll her eyes while keeping an intense focus on healing Haruka's wounded innards. "Auntie and... Akai are different. One received a top-of-the-line prosthetic and the other was a prodigious user of Blood Manipulation. That girl's lucky if they manage to stop the blood flow before she dries out."

Timmy shrugged, unconvinced. "Well, since you're never wrong."

Feral glared sharply at his obviously sarcastic tone. "Well it doesn't matter now. We were ordered to not die ourselves and Haruka needs a professional to look her over. I don't think we'll be getting any help in Cloud. We need to pull back."

Her reply was a relaxed smirk as Timmy stood and yawned at the anticlimax of their mission; leaning down to scoop up the unconscious member of their team. "Sensei won't let us hear the end of this one."

"Sensei..." Feral scoffed. "I'd be much more worried about Lord Yukikage."

Timmy visibly flinched.

Shuniji trotted through the forest along the ground somewhere maybe in the norther Land of Fire? He was too tired from the desert trek to run and too anxious about his time limit to walk so he settled on breezing along the forest floor in some sort of speed-walk-gallop-hybrid. Had he not been hurrying out of threat of death, he probably would've been skipping in celebration of the mild weather.

It wasn't like Shuniji had an irrational hatred of sand before going to the desert or anything.

Shuniji resisted the monstrous urge to roll his eyes. He would be so happy when he no longer had to pander to Seika's frankly unnerving attachment to him, or swallow all of the stupid, false niceness she was sending his way. She wouldn't be doing any of this if she knew the truth!

Now Shuniji wasn't so much jogging through the forest as he was stalking. He wasn't mad per say. He honestly knew he couldn't blame Seika for her weird... memory... rape. However, he was feeling an unfamiliar heavy, squirming feeling behind his stomach which was the source of much irritation.

Sure, he'd be taking care of the problem by taking care of Seika, but that didn't sit well with the innate curiosity that drove most of Shuniji's less... rational actions. He was the son of two doctors for Orochimaru's sake! He wanted answers to his problems! Turning Seika in would allow him to live a few more years, but being left hanging like this would kill his soul.

...or something to that effect. An inconveniently-placed tree root caused Shuniji to stumble, thus flinging his emotional predicament from his mind and righting his "angry walk".

Shuniji sighed to release all his pent-up drama and walked slower and more evenly through the woods. "It shouldn't be much more than a couple days at most," he mentioned off-handedly. Talking always made him feel better.

Seika had been following Shun rather quietly. The shelter of the forest gave her some relief from the Sun. Her thoughts involving Tatsuya and Tsukiko had long since been settled. They were stupid, measly pawns that had been jumped on the chessboard. "They were dead to her." would have sufficed too. Seika had been watching Shun's back with great concentration. However, it wasn't specifically him she was watching. She was a bit spaced out, just using his pink coat as a marker. Her thoughts were broken as soon as Shuniji stumbled. Seika motioned to speak, but was interrupted by a voice. That blue man.. He brought her news that didn't really rub her the right way at all. It even caused her to spit out a flat "What?" It seems...A new problem had arisen to hinder Seika's ever tireless mind..

Not my brother? Killed and tortured?
That...was quite a big speed bump on Seika's part. She couldn't believe it. This couldn't be true. Blue man was lying! He had to be. Seika knew for sure that Shuniji was her brother- No IS her brother! The girl seemed to have almost come to a complete halt in her tracks. Her pupils seemed to be narrowed with panic over the situation. Shuniji WAS her brother, He came for her...to find her and R-rescue her. H-he was her Hero. Which is why- Seika paused and placed her hand on her forehead, letting out a small...giggle? The blue mans accusation seemed to cause her some serious stress. To the point where kind words could only work to worsen her mental state. 'Liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, LIAR, YOU'RE WRONG!!' Seika had fully convinced herself that she was Shun's sibling and refused to believe otherwise. That man...was just trying to trick her. HE WAS JUST USING HER TO DO HIS DIRTY WORK! To do what HE can't himself. Seika only did things for herself, not others. WHY SHOULD SHE PLAY NICE WITH THOSE STUPID GENIN?! She wasn't really "Nice" to anybody. It was all an act, she was using them, only tolerating them. This girls real feelings died a long time ago. -No, Not her feelings, rather her love for others.

Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don't know how to replenish its source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds; it dies
of weariness, of withering, of tarnishing.
All of which for Seika...seemed to be self-inflicted. It was HER fault she ended up this way, but she'd never openly admit that. If this was true...then what would she call the relationship she had with Shun? Seika certainly wasn't using him. She followed him blindly because deep down in her rotten heart she really...Seika completely stopped what she was doing, frozen, completely shocked from her sudden realization. Her cheeks were flushed, but her mouth seemed to be moving as if she were saying something. 'That can't be true, it's a lie. I can't feel that way. YOU CAN'T MAKE ME FEEL THIS WAY!!' It would be hard to read since her lips were actually covered, but her eyes were completely readable. Seika was kicking herself again for thinking too much about something. So much that she actually found something she...really wished she hadn't.

But now was not the time for an epiphany dammit! Back to the problem at hand. Somebody whom she hates and would never swear loyalty to, told her that Shun wasn't her brother.....Seika just realized what she had been freaking out about earlier had involved possible incest. Wait, was it really THOSE sort of feelings? NO-STOP THAT, SHUT UP! THAT'S NOT WHAT WE'RE DEBATING ABOUT NOW! I'M NOT FALLING BACK IN THAT LOOPHOLE AGAIN! Seika sweat-dropped and struggled to keep her composure. Were her headphones off? She made to check before actually speaking to her "Brother". "Onii-sama, How did you get those bandages, What happened?" She spoke in the midst of her frustrated fears. Even her tone seemed to have changed drastically. It was serious and scratchy, like nails to a chalk board, giving him a fragile yet hopeful look that demanded the truth. Seika was trying not to make it seem like she was interrogating him, but Shun was smart. If Seika didn't pull her act together. He may figure out that she had been told something. It was obvious...that she didn't want to believe what the Blue man said. Still...questioning him might shed a little light on her problem.

While Shuniji had wanted a conversation to start up, he couldn't say he was expecting Seika to ask... this. Maybe something about the weather? No?

Why did she sound like she was on the verge of tears? Shuniji was more perturbed by this than the question and nearly stopped, but did slow down enough that he was closer to Seika as he walked. He pondered a way to answer her question without giving away anything important while simultaneously diffusing her emotional issue.

Caring about other people's feelings was unfamiliar and extremely inconvenient.

Wait... didn't she say she was being tracked? He knew Seika had telepathy to an extent. Were they using this somehow? Well... it wasn't like Wairudokaado didn't know where Sound Village was. Perhaps the lab could use this to their advantage when they got back to Sound. Until then, Shuniji would have to pretend he was dealing with a walkie-talkie to the stupid cult.

"O-Oh, right. Bandages." Shuniji shifted the gauze absently. He actually wasn't that upset by Seika's innocent inquiry. He had been expecting it.

"I was set on fire." There really wasn't any other explanation for having burns over fifty percent of one's body.

"It was just after you were kidnapped. I was set on fire..."

Shuniji sighed heavily. It looked like the memory was really affecting him. Really, he was quieting the devilish glee he felt at his next words.

"By Wairudokaado."

Inside, Shuniji smirked.

Her gaze wandered over to the gauze he had moved. Seika felt like a huge weight was tied to her heart and dropped into the ocean. Her heart sank when he explained what happened. A scowl could be spotted through her skin tight mask. "I was set on fire...By Wairudokaado." She felt sick after hearing that. Her gaze remained on Shuniji's bandages. At least her suspicions were put at ease for now. However, a new feeling had emerged. Anger, Fury. Whatever category you wanted to throw it under, it wasn't a good feeling. 'I knew it...they're liars. THEY USED ME, LIED TO ME, AND HURT HIM!'

Seika bit her lip really hard. She wanted to just tell that man off, having the world as her witness. "It...Looks painful, I-I'm-" Seika paused. Wait a second! Apologizing would be insulting to him, wouldn't it? Everything he's been through...He suffered, went through so much hardship...Only to be apologized to? No. She was going to Show him her appreciation, Make it up to him through her actions, follow him through hell, be the best companion he ever had. "It won't happen." She continued on with her sentence and reached over, grasping his hand with both of hers, letting him know how sincere was was being. This wasn't a joke. "You'll never have to experience something like that alone ever again. I'll...make sure of it." Such weird logic matched a strange girl like Seika. Sadly, the look she was giving him had confirmed that she was completely serious. "Let's protect each other, alright?" She smiled confidently, Her new found determination seemed to overpower the urge to cry.

Maybe hope had been the thing she was missing this whole time.

Shuniji said nothing and merely looked down at Seika with a piercing gaze as they neared the Land of Rice.

"It's fine. It's not like it hurts much," he stated abruptly, while turning back to the road. He wanted to just ignore the gravity of what Seika was spewing and keep walking, but admitted to himself that for the sake of the mission, he'd have to suck it up and play nice.

To be honest, the simple fact that he knew Seika would take back her extended feelings the second she found out what was really going on pissed him off. Everything she said came off as half-hearted and untrue. Her friendship and family and feelings would mean nothing in the face of truth, and in Shuniji's mind, that meant she may as well be jerking him around. She was trying to play with his feelings. She was mocking him.

What made it worse was the earnest voice she used. It was far more compelling than any facade Shuniji had ever put on, and even he was drawn in by the idea. He wanted to believe her, but the nagging reminder that he couldn't was the tiny nick that was causing his heart to bleed out.

He wondered, briefly, to himself. Would it hurt less to destroy someone who truly cared about you? Or was it less painful to know you were in fact, truly, completely and eternally alone?

"We're shinobi, Seika," he sounded dead inside, "We will be placed in many situations in which we cannot protect or be protected. I cannot honestly bring myself to believe you when you say that I will never fail another mission and that I may never face the consequences for such again."

"You should know now that idealism bugs the hell outta me." It hurt too much. "So don't... bother trying to promise me anything uncertain like that again. That's insulting."

"So instead, promise me this!" He rounded on Seika and yelled loudly, passionately, "Promise me that you will become an excellent shinobi! Not with merely strength or chakra, but with nerves! Promise that you will protect your honor as a ninja of the Village Hidden in the Sound! Protect the Village! Protect the Otokage! Protect our secrets! But dammit... if you waste your time trying to protect me or any other cannon-fodder stupid enough to get in the way of a stray kunai, then you'd better damn-well hope that sense of honor gets you KILLED because if not, then you'll have to answer to ME as to why you broke your damn promise! AND I HATE HYPOCRITES!"

Shuniji's eyes were wild, his face wrinkled with disgust beneath his bandages. His fists shook gently as he tried to calm himself down from his venting. He turned jerkily towards their destination, but his muscles were still too tense to move forward.

"S-So just stop already! I can't... take anymore of your friendship or your family or your kindness! You're pouring holy water on a demon, Seika. I don't deserve this--just... let's just go home..." he said quietly, "let's just go home..."

Shuniji truly was a pathetic beast. To thirst after something so fiercely only to get burned when they got too close. He was a stupid insect. Perhaps if he were stronger, he could handle this better--this... guilt.

The Otokage could do that. He could do anything. He could make Shuniji stronger. He just needed to complete this mission.

Yes... it was Seika that was making him weak. He didn't always feel like this; like there was something boiling his insides. He needed to prove that he was stronger than she.. than it--than this!

Shuniji trudged forward slowly, but with determination to keep ahead of Seika.

He needed to keep ahead of Seika.

Seika flinched when Shuniji had started speaking. It's not like she blamed him for using such an angry tone. There is no one who would not tire from hearing such a weak and meaningless statement, but not to Seika though. She was quite serious. However, Shuns second statement had flat out burned her. K.O., Sparta kick, falcon punch, Chuck Norris'd. Whatever you would call it. He chewed up her words and spat it out...on her dead cat. Well, she felt that way. She found his lack of faith in her statement disturbing. Though really Shun had no reason to believe her. This discouraged Seika, causing her enthusiastic attitude to be a bit reclusive. It definitely shut her up.

Until he gave her an alternative to her word vomit. "....W-wha-" Her eye twitched in mild irritation. His alternative was very...Shiniji-ish. She tried not to sweat-drop out of respect for her elder brother, but this was...Seika's scowl turned into a small half-smile. It made her want to laugh. Though she just settled with a smile. Laughing would probably be taken the wrong way. Somehow his statement sounded very familiar. The way he spoke that was...she couldn't quite place it though. Had she heard the same thing from somebody else?

Still, she had to consider the way Shuniji felt as well, and normally she could care less. Though this was SHUN, She couldn't just let it be. Seika grunted and rubbed the back of her head, unsure of how to respond without getting her face torn off. She knew what Shun was capable of. Which was exactly why Seika never pushed an issue too far with him. Or maybe she had already done that....this being the result. Didn't her mother teach her about playing with fire? Her smile dissipated after he spoke for the last time. She was now hesitant to trail after Shun.

He was hurt because she was being careless with her words, again. Reminding her of what he said awhile back. B-but...what she said wasn't bullshit this time! Well, once again. From Shun's prospective. A promise like that was probably a kick in the face, useless because there was no such thing as a promise for protection when you lived in Sound, especially the kind she was proposing. He didn't need the trouble of dealing with her silly ideals. Ah, so it was...He didn't need her usual bullshit. I get it now. "Just because you have the emotional range of a teaspoon..." She mumbled, crossing her arms against her chest. Stupid idiot had to get the last word. Though at least she was semi back to normal.

For somebody who was bad at picking up social cues...this sure as hell bugged her. Maybe it was because she kept wandering off in the wrong direction. There was always something wrong with the things she said, the choices she made. Her overall twisted, one sided logic.Though she'd never get seriously angry over it. Just sort of turn it around and make the opposing person seem like an a**. It was odd when the same thing was being done to her. Was this ordeal...discouraging Seika? No...now she was inspired. She'll try it his way for awhile- No. Take his challenge! His promise. Show her older brother who's boss, That her way of thinking wasn't bad either! Even so, Seika knew she was walking on thin ice with Shun at the moment. Now it was time to back off a bit.

.Inochi, now in full ANBU garb (mask and all) flew though the trees as he followed behind his teacher... well one of them. He was glad to be free of Saito-sempai but something inside told him he'd miss the crazy little man. Before he left he'd given him a suit which he PROMISED (a MAN'S promise...) would improve his fighting ability by at least 15%...
...it was a suit identical to his... of course....

"We are 22 miles outside the border of Sand. I have a pass for each of us. We will officially be guarding the Hokage during the third round. Unofficially we will be surveying the other ninja for signs of interaction with Wairudokaado. I doubt they will be pronounced but if we are vigilant someone might slip up... Originally, Buchi-kun was going to be in charge again. That man's a goddam tank... but when he suppressed the one tails last year, the technique he used rendered his arm unable to produce chakra. The cells are slowing dieing. That means we are going to be acting as his body guard. This is a big honor Raion-kun... don't let it go to your head thought."

Raion just nodded, his silent agreement affirming his growth to his teacher. He was... more focused now. He wasn't "worried". When he had sent Raion to Satio... he wasn't sure what the result would be. He might have withdrawn further into his shell or... worse. Whatever Satio had done, it had helped him.

Saito... he'd been the only one who had stuck around after it all. He'd been sleeping for a long time and that outlandish outfit... it was required however. If anyone knew who he was... well the situation could be dire. The progenitor could not be known at this time.

"Are we expecting any trouble Kirabachi-sempai?"
Kirabachi had a habit of not always giving ALL the information, though the relevant bits where always there. No stone left unturned and whatnot.

"Not to my knowledge, but our information says the one tailed host is still in the exams. He hasn't failed yet so he could potentially cause a problem.

"Understood."
