"Order" is such a misleading word. For us, it usually means PIZZA PARTY WOOHOO!

Jessie watched her in bemusement. Had he ever seen her laugh like that before? He hadn't really noticed, but she usually seemed even more grave than he was. The thought, and her laughter, made him smile.

"The honour is truly mine," he answered politely, offering her his arm in what he believed was the customary fashion. "And I would not worry about your post. This is a time for relaxation."

"May I ask who taught you to bow so nicely?"
His question was not simply small talk - he was sincerely interested in how Coline had picked up such old fashioned manners.

Lorika was still walking along the beach in the direction Harata had pointed her, heart hammering with worry.

"Overseer! Overseer! Don't be frightened! I just want to talk!"

She couldn't lose hope. He had to be here somewhere. Perhaps he had gone out onto some of the coves beyond the shallow inlets?

She approached the ocean, breathing out slowly as she concentrated.

[Connection With Water]

Dropping her cloak to the floor, she lifted up her robes and dashed out onto the waves. The incoming ones splashed all around her calves, but luckily she didn't have to go out far before she got a view of the caves. It was soon obvious to her, however, that they were too treacherous for the Overseer to reach without any magic.

She ran back to the shore, water bearing her up as if she weighed less than a leaf. As she looked the way she had come, she thought she saw a flash of something... but she couldn't be sure.

"Overseer!"

...and you will be lonesome.

((Haha I think Lorika could use the company, actually. I reply heeeella slow. x'D))

She couldn't say she agreed that it was a time to be relaxing, but how could she refuse a kind invitation from a person she so admired? Coline felt her heart race upon seeing the offered arm, not being used to such a setup, but took it nonetheless. "It's something I picked up from home..." she answered. An awkward silence followed soon after. Coline didn't want to speak more of it; at least not for now. Not when she was this happy.

Glancing over to her hand she only just realized that she'd been holding onto the spear all this time. She gazed up at the Captain, a sheepish grin plastered on her face. "I'm sorry. I should probably set this aside, shouldn't I?"

Jessie glanced at Coline as they began to walk towards the hallways. He suddenly felt sorry for voicing the thought which he had intended as a compliment, remembering the substance of their conversation that morning. "I'm sorry if I provoked thoughts of an unpleasant past. It's just that bowing is a part of common courtesy in the culture of my birth, but the habit is incredibly rare here. You're the first person who has bowed to me in years."

He looked in surprise at the weapon.

"Oh!" he intoned softly "I honestly hadn't noticed you were carrying a spear. Perhaps I spend too much time around weaponry."

"But Coline, why are you making do with a rudimentary spear? Where is your trident?"

Harata wandered, waiting outside the temple. She would not enter whilst they were worshipping, she found it rude, as she did not believe. She slumped onto the ground, and pulled out the book of spell making she had been given by Bakar. She sat and read, frustrated at the Overseer, Lorika, herself, and the world in general.

"Yes, it would seem that common courtesy isn't so common nowadays." she remarked. "It's fine, sir, there's no need for you to apologize. I'd gladly tell you more about it, just... I would rather we save it for another time."

Coline stopped in her tracks upon hearing the Captain inquire about her trident. Uh oh. That was a bad move. "That is, uhh..." she started, resuming her walk shortly, "I was... in a hurry to assemble that I took the wrong weapon...?" Strain was apparent in expression despite her best efforts to mask it with a smile. "I-It's nothing to be worried about, sir. D-Don't worry."

The corners of Jessie's mouth twitched. "You are a terrible liar, my lotha'uss. Either that, or I am too used to having to see through deception. Are you going to tell me what the matter is, or am I going to have to pry it out of you?"

They were nearing the dining room. Voices could be heard beyond the door. He gestured that she should put the spear down, and then appraised her with one of his all-encompassing glances. "Perhaps we should leave the blanket out here, too. I'm glad you find it so comfortable, but it is a little unwieldy. Perhaps I could try and find you some thicker robes than the ones you usually wear next time I walk into town..."

Coline's shoulders lowered in defeat. Lying was never one of her strong points. Since it had already come to this she was resigned to thinking it would really be best to tell him, and she was just about to... until she heard what came next.

Glancing over to the blanket hanging from her back, her brows furrowed as she skimmed back through her thoughts. She hadn't really thought about it before now, but now that she had... she didn't remember ever taking a blanket with her prior to her restful napping. Her eyes slowly turned to the Captain.

"It was you...?" she muttered, brows curling upward. Coline's body bent forward for a bow, the lowest she's given. "You are... too kind, sir. Far too kind..." she acclaimed almost breathlessly.

She bit her lip in hopes of stopping them from quivering. Everything that had happened that day, her Captain, his kindness... it was overwhelming.

No... she couldn't possibly solicit his help now.

Her gratitude was touching... it touched a part of him. Perhaps this was one of the reasons why he insisted on helping her. Such small favours provoked such startlingly sincere reactions. He would normally have told her to think nothing of it, but as he knew she would pay no mind to that and had nothing else to say, he simply stood and watched her carefully as she sank into her bow. Her voice as she thanked him trembled a little, and he suddenly felt very sad for no discernable reason.

As Coline stood up, he caught sight of her pained expression. He felt his own features melting to mirror it. "My dear, what's the matter? Did I say something to upset you?"

"Please, sir..." she began as she carefully set the spear and the blanket steadily against the wall. "If you say anything more I think I might just burst."

Turning to face him again Coline placed a hand on her chest and smiled genuinely. He's made her heart race for the umpteenth time today. What she said just now, though exaggerated, might not be that far off from the truth. "If you find yourself in need of me for whatever reason, Captain, please don't hesitate to ask. I am in your debt."

Evelyn had been looking for the Overseer and dodging Lorika throughout the day {{morning? afternoon? I'm lost.}}. She was so ashamed that she had let the Overseer leave her that tears were actually falling from her eyes--in public, although no one was around to see her cry.

She shuffled around the Temple, trying to keep the weight off of her ankle without being to obvious that it was hurting. The last thing she wanted now was for her to have to be detained by healing.

"Oh," she sighed heavily, trooping outside on to the beach. She had become increasingly upset with every passing minute she did not find the Overseer. Cursing herself, she sat down upon the sand, intentionally hurting herself by looking at the sun directly. She found have continued had she not heard a bird singing distantly.

She looked around for the bird and upon finding it to be a bluebird, a song came to her from her youth. Perhaps she'd sing it to Bakar later...

"Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch
Who watches over you
Make a little birdhouse in your soul
Not to put too fine a point on it
Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet
Make a little birdhouse in your soul..."

{{I actually have no idea where much of anyone is. I know that Lorika and Righteous are out in the jungle, so I suppose I'll just RP with myself. I'm good at that...

Oh, and if you wanna hear the song--I'm in love with it it can be found here. }}
