Asuka walked behind Ms. Bard and the dog that accompanied her, following her to wherever she was going. She seemed to be in deep thought, which was a given. Seeing what had transpired today, it was no surprise that she would be troubled. In fact, they all are. Asuka was hoping that they would be able to get the jump on Hessler, that they would have the surprise advantage. But it seemed the mouse was playing that cat for a fool. Asuka let out a weary sigh. It was only yesterday when they seemed to have just caught Hessler. Nobody could've guessed he would be out by morning.


"I thought as much," Asuka replied to Ms. Bard. He wondered where Camela and Danika were. They had received no word from them since the attack. That worried Asuka. I hope they are not in danger. Asuka left his mind to wander their current predicament.

"Whether his information are trustworhy or not, they are the only information that we have," Asuka stated after a few moments of thought.

Asuka was right, she has literally no leads and having Dr. Mobius was a godsend. "I guess it's better than nothing," Sophia checked her cellphone, and noted that the tower reception was back. Whatever was interfering with the building before was gone, so that meant Hessler's men were gone. Continuing forward, she entered a room filled with CPF officers, most of them were gearing up and conversing with each other; Dr. Mobius stood out in the middle of the room, his eccentric hair and horrible fashion sense had painted a sign that was worth commenting about if she was in a different situation. "I assume you are Dr. Mobius."
"That would be correct! You have amazing sense to determine my identity in a room full of men."
Sophia felt the need to reply to his comment, but held it in. "Perhaps, now doctor, I have a few questions for you. Why are you helping us?"
"I was already employed by the CPF. I think that is reason enough, perhaps 'duty' would be a reasonable answer."
"Okay... (This is going to be hard)" Sophia sighed, "I'll come right out with it then, what is Hessler planning to do?"
"In layman's terms, take over the country."
"Take over the country?" Sophia hinted a small notion of skepticism, how could Hessler possibly takeover the entire country with such a small force?
"Perhaps! Maybe even the world!"

Now she doubted what the man had to say, Hessler could possibly take over the city, but the country was an outlandish answer. However, it was her job to unravel all the answers. "How could he take over the country? He doesn't have the military force."
"Military force? That's just his goons, small fries really. He has something bigger up his sleeve."
"...and that is?"
"How about a new type of WMD?"

Sophia's eyes perked from the acronym, Weapons of Mass Destruction. It was a term that wasn't used anymore, all nuclear weapons and other types of fission bombs has long since been dismantled, their components used to create energy plants needed for the demand of clean energy all over the world. It was nearly impossible to get enough materials to create such weapons nowadays. But if the doctor was telling the truth, then they were all in danger. "What were you working on?!"
"We were experimenting on what you would call a mass driver or railgun. The goal was to make a medium that was able to send a large mass to another location instantly; essentially, a type of teleportation device. In our search to create the world's first teleportation, we attempted to combine the theories behind particle acceleration and displacement into our machine. Our results were favorable and we were successful in launching a piece of metal all the way around the world in a matter of seconds, but we found a side-effect."
"What kind of side effect?"
"It's actually quite complicated to explain..."
"Then make it short!" Sophia was starting to get impatient.
"You see, it takes a large amount of energy to create the environment needed to propel an object at speeds faster than light. We didn't expect that the energy supplied also traveled with the object. The energy is converted to kinetic energy, and a large amount of force will strike the intended target area flattening everything in sight. Also a residual 'E.M.P.' effect will also be present due to the electromagnets needed to fire the object."
"How accurate is this weapon?"
"Extremely. Accurate to a few millimeters, he could kill a flea on the other side of the planet. He could place a penny into your brain without you knowing or even puncturing your skin and the worst part is, you can't even see it coming. If he supplies enough power, he could flatten an entire city in the blink of an eye."
"So you're telling me... Hessler has a super accurate, super powerful weapon that could kill you or me without us even knowing?"
"Yes."

Sophia has the feeling of helplessness rush through he body. She couldn't help but be pessimistic about their current situation, they might as well surrender. Why hasn't he used this weapon yet? Or has he already? "Wait, if Hessler has such a powerful weapon, why all the mind games?"
"If my calculations are correct, he hasn't gathered enough power to run the machine. It's why he needs this city."
"The reactor.." Sophia immediately thought of the answer. The city has the largest self-sufficient solar reactor in the entire world. If Hessler needed power, the city reactor was a perfect medium to power his WMD.
"Precisely... Knowing Hessler, he has probably been hiding there the entire time."
"So he used the attack on the CPF HQ, Parliament and the surrounding core branches to make us think he was trying to take over the city. But, in fact, he was just driving our attention elsewhere... Where is the WMD located?"
"That, you would have to ask Hessler directly."
"We should act quickly then! Round up the boys!" Sophia commanded.
"You have at most, two days to stop Hessler before his weapon is usable. Once it's fully powered, then it will run forever."
"Okay, got it."
"Be careful, Hessler had many scientists working for him. He has an arsenal that will make the impossible possible."

Umi entered the apartment room, after leaving the training grounds. Vulcan still sat there each his dinner and occasionally speaking to a nearby person. Umi had the feeling that Vulcan wanted him to go because he would get closure. He noticed Blakely enter the living room, meaning it was safe to enter his bedroom to get a change of clothes. He was still topless from the injury, wearing only the bandages wrapped around his torso. Putting on a loose collared shirt, he stepped into the living room, "Vulcan wanted to meet him on the roof when we were done getting ready. We're leaving in a few minutes, that is, if you still want to come with us."
