"Nightmares," Annie replied, figuring that the one word would be enough. She stood up, the very little bit of sleep she had managed to get was at least helping her. She tucked a strand of her auburn hair behind her ear, sighing.
"I want to get my blood tested," she said, closing her eyes. "It is vital that all of us learn all that there is to know about our powers. That way we can't be manipulated again."
She began pacing as she thought, "Is it wrong for me to hope that Charles Ray is still alive? I want revenge... and... and that scares me about myself."

"I understand." She stood, but didn't move any closer to Annie. "You are blaming him. And there you feel that if you can bring him down with your own hands, your guilt will go away. But it won't. You have to find a different way to deal with what we have been through, and what we have learned about each other, and ourselves." She clasped her hands together in front of her and stared at them. "Just remember, you have friends who care for you. Very much. And I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say that we will listen and be there for you for anything." She looked back up and smiled. "And if you want to test your blood. We can do that. But... for now... I think you need more rest." She walked a little closer to the woman. "We've all had a rough day. And if you feel like you can't sleep, at lest, close your eyes and rest. We still have more problems to face in front of us. We're not in the clear yet."

Annie narrowed her eyes at Tansy and shook her head, "You don't understand, I can't close my eyes... if I close my eyes I see the face and expression of the man I killed. I killed someone, Tansy. How am I supposed be okay after that? How am I supposed to close my eyes to rest after that?"

Ako took the tarp Tansy handed him, and smiled at Gidget as she thanked him. He watched to make sure she would sleep before settling in himself. He rolled up his jacket for a pillow, and covered himself with the tarp. It was thin, and scratchy, but at least it was something. He heard Annie wake up, but was too tired to see what the problem was. Besides, It sounded like Tansy was up to talk to her.

"Well then, just try to relax." She smiled at her gently and looked around. "I'm going to keep watch from the roof. Okay?" She waved somewhat as she started slowly towards the door.

Annie opened her mouth to protest, but instead covered her mouth with her hand and said nothing, merely nodding at what Tansy said. She walked over and sat down between Garret, Ako and Gidget. Curling her legs up she propped her arms up on her knees and laid her chin onto her arms, thinking on everything that had happened.

Tansy made her way outside and looked up at the moon. She pushed off the ground and unfurled her wings. She lifted off and landed gently on the roof. She looked around and paused for a moment letting her eyes adjust to the darkness around her. She knew Annie needed time to think, and she didn't want to get in her way. She also would be able to see if someone was coming. And she needed to do some thinking of her own.
What was she. Was she an angel? And if she was, what kind was she? And was she good, or evil? She doubted that she was evil. She didn't feel evil. Was she an Angel of Death like Mr. Ray had said? Annie's blood was black... and Mr. Ray had mentioned that her blood was poison. And for all they knew it was true. So... was what he said about her true?
An Angel of Death.... That didn't make her evil.... right? It just meant.... What did it mean? That she killed people? She shook her head and sighed. it was all so confusing. If only someone could tell her what was right and what was wrong.

Gidget stirred in her sleep, whimpering a bit at her own plagued dreams. In her dream she is constructing something at a feverish pace. Her dream wouldn't allow her to see what is was she was building, but it seemed very important. Finally she finishes and looks down at her handy work. Laying before her on the table is a human being, a man to be more precise. he opens his eyes and looks up at her. His eyes are dead, soulless, and cold. He whispers to her, "Do the right thing Princess." She nods to the man on the table and picks up a screwdriver. Without so much as batting an eyelash she starts stabbing the man repeatedly. Blood sprays everywhere, but it doesn't matter to her, she had to do this.
Her eyes shoot open, a small gasp escaping her lips. It doesn't take long for tears to start welling up in her eyes. She rolls over and sees Annie sitting in the middle of their little sleep over. Gidget sits herself up and covers up in the cloth tarp. Without saying a word she stands up and shuffles over to Annie. Gidget sits down next to her and lays her head on Annie's shoulder.

Tansy walked to the edge of the roof and sat on it, letting her feet hang down. Her wings opened and wrapped around her like a blanket to shield her from the cold evening winds. She sighed. No one would be the same after this. None of them. She knew that. They would all question themselves. She sighed again. Pulling her knees up, she opened her wings to allow them inside the feathered shell and laid her head on her knees. Now almost completely hidden by her wings, she sat there, with her eyes open staring into the darkness.
A shiver went down her spine as her head snapped back up. Something was wrong. She stood quickly, as the clouds in the sky flew past the moon, suddenly pouring light onto the roof which she stood. Her eyes scanned the sidewalks below her. Her wings were open, ready to take off at any moment. her knees slightly bent, her head slowly moving back and forth to try and find what was near. Whatever it was, she knew she couldn't;'t let the others know. They needed rest. And she would do whatever she could to protect them.

Annie smiled a supportive smile at Gidget as she put an arm around the girl and squeezed her shoulder. Quietly she asks, "Having trouble sleeping, too?"
She already knew the answer and continued with a small smile, "How you holding up, Gidget?"

Gidget yawns and grumbles, "My head is cold. I guess you guys are going to get to see what my natural color is." She becomes silent again for just a moment before speaking up once more. "I could see what was happening in that building. I had hacked into the camera network before they had put me under. Annie...please don't hate yourself for what happened. I don't hate you, and none of the others do, so there's no point in it." She shifts her head and looks up at Annie with those same eyes that everyone has come to know over the last few months. They may have been darkened by the rings of exhaustion, but they were still those bright and loving eyes.

"I don't hate myself for what happened," replied Annie quickly. "I'm merely beating myself up emotionally for it." She smiled, rubbing Gidget's head, "Maybe we can go wig shopping sometime really soon..."
Shrugging she added, "If you want I could donate my hair to your cause, of course auburn won't be quite the same as bright pink, but..." She smiled, not knowing what else to say.

Gidget yawns again and snuggles up closer to Annie, her eyes blinking heavily, "It's okay, thanks though. I wouldn't want you to lose your hair. It's...too...pretty...to have...machine grease...in." A second later a sound snore starts coming from her.

Annie smiled as Gidget mumbled about machine grease, it was good that what had happened had not turned the girl away from her passion. Sighing, Annie decided to think of what she would create if she had access to art supplies. Something abstract, with a lot of orange and yellows and some pink... swirls...
She closed her eyes picturing the painting she would make and it was calming, and finally she could feel herself nodding off, but this time she was only dreaming in swirls of colors.

Tansy frowned. Maybe she was seeing things. Still, she didn't let her guard down just yet. She turned to look at the other side of the building. She wasn't sure why, but she had the feeling that something just wasn't right. Maybe she was just going crazy. She bit onto her bottom lip as she began to search all over again.
