We going to Earth first, Rear-Admiral Hoffman is going to brief HIGHCOM board on what happened on Harvest in person.
Then, while that is happening, the ships will be basically emptied of all non Navy personal and maybe a few promotions will happen. (Which reminds me, only 2 ships are needed for the next part of the RP. I might make two separate stories that will come back together later on. Depends.)
Lets say, a month of prepping is going to happen to do with the next mission. (In RP... a month.) Yeah, so there will be storing out of those from Armored Prayer, and people will be transferred around and such.
After that, I will not say anymore.

How long would it take for them to get to Earth from Harvest? I just need to know the time frame really. (It is about Feb 5th-7th 2561 right now).
I wouldn't mind a bit of a time skip. XD
Also, you reckon Lord Hood would still be around?

From Harvest to Earth? I'd say at least a few months via cryo-sleep for the crew while in slipspace.
Personally, I think a year would be awesome because after everything on Harvest, humanity should really consider taking a break from intergalactic struggles, both internal and... well, intergalactic haha
Since Lord Hood was the one to issue the orders to go to Harvest, it might be best that he either retires, dies "in office", or goes on to give the new orders, but I think you should make a new Fleet Commander, if only just a name to go by.
That's just my opinions - if they matter haha

Lord Hood is 60 during Halo 3. So yeah, I think he would actually be retired.
But yeah, I really do want people to have some say in the story. See what people want.

Have the UNSC ships land in the midst of the celebration of the cease-fire then have a human anti-alien agency attack the ambassador, or both ambassadors, and start comflict in hopes that the human agency might be able to assassinate the high ranking Sangheili to disrupt the order on the Sangheili homeworld... Just a thought

Whatever lol it's just a thought, I'm just getting too excited about the new thread already, I'm actually bouncing over here, thinking about what the story will be xD
Something you should consider though is allowing Sangheili characters

The reasoning I see for their not allowing sangheili characters is twofold.
First of all, we have to consider the very isolationist view of the humans and not humans in halo, and thus the interaction thats RP worthy would just be specific instances of combined fleet activity, not something that would be healthy to character development.
The other problem is elites are basically not-spartans. We would have a lot of retards coming in making elites that have unending shields and charge in singlehandedly with nothing but an energy sword and somehow ninja the s**t out of everything. Or they would be written horribly, as we have seen the elites are all pretty much very.... elitist and professional, most people on gaia rps cant write dialogue for that, and we would get whiny pussies of elites or needless pricks.
Or we would have instances of an elite that got amnesia and just carries a big a** plasma sword and fights another mysterious elite with a long thin plasma sword that stabbed the first elites mate. If you dont see what I'm referencing here your in denial.
