Landon definitely couldn't keep a straight face after her retort, but had busted out laughing before he even moved her, and then continued on with the same tone when he put her down.
Wasn't it just great when teasing worked? You know, unless they REALLY got mad, not just annoyed.
Then it turned out that Landon wished he had held onto Stephanie even just a few seconds later, because he figured out rather quickly why she stumbled. Not that it really would have been a good thing in keeping things limited, but it would have been no big deal, and she might have kept that smile plastered on... till she missed...
And well, he liked- loved, holding her... but that was uh.. beside the point.
"Well of course you'll never make it with that attitude!" he cut in, taking just a step back and crossing his arms with a bit of a smirk. He just couldn't help it. And even that little voice that told him to stop getting so excited about her losing more clothing was muffled.
Landon was actually quite surprised the ball even circled the hoop, especially from that ang- no! No ******** way!!! It went it!?
It wasn't like he'd never seen that happen before, with someone who was generally not such a basketball star, but still man!!!
He opened his mouth to speak, paused, then started again, "And why did I give you a second chance?" he asked, unsure even himself whether he was asking only himself, or her.
No way she would let him take it back now.
"Yeah, well, your still shirtless, and it's still my lead so so neeh!" he stuck his tongue out.
He could only keep the pouty tone up for so long though, before he broke out into a more genuine smile as he kept his eyes on her. No one else made him smile that for no real reason, ok?****************************************    As soon as forever is through

Move along, move along like I know you do.. The tone of her voice as she said his name was not very promising. James knew he shouldn't be surprised anyway. To think he asked tis if her... Of course, he didn't want to take it back, no, he meant every word. But... he had no right...
Some time passed with neither moving much at all, before she said something again. He should have expected it but he still...
James sighed wistfully, then looked up, at her face now, and would look into her eyes if they met his. Meanwhile, his thumb started gently stroking her hand.
"Y... You know that line? That stupid one? "It's not you, it's me?" I'd never be so bad as to use it in a break up, but... When I did break up with you, it.. it had nothing to do with any problems with you. I hadn't lost any love for you, I wasn't angry or hurt or irritated by anything you had done... I think, it was like.. things were going too well, and it didn't seem to make sense. Because I saw all of my other friends constantly moving in and out of relationships and having all these one night stands like it was normal. And at the same time that I looked forward to a future together... this... irrational fear of commitment would get me. It's like, the same reason I never held down a job for more then a month or two. And yet... and yet despite how fickle I was about everything else, I stayed with you for so long, way longer then anyone else did in high school, because I loved you, and I still do." He took a breath after so much, but he wasn't done yet.
"I was stupid and immature, and it was like, I was afraid of being happy for too long because I always expected something bad would happen to come between us, just like everything else... and I ended it before that could happen.... Now I have a steady, good paying job, I've kept the relaxation, the want for fun, but have found the maturity I didn't have back then- the knowledge of when you need to be mature."
James moved his other hand up and gently stroked her cheek.
"I loved everything about being with you just like I love you. I'm not asking you to choose on the spot, but... know that it never was that you weren't good enough for me. You were too good, and I couldn't handle that."
Wow. James had never before been able to put his feelings on the entire matter into words as well as he just did. Never come close. And now? Now it made so much more sense, and he knew it was true! For so long after he did it, he didn't even understand why he left her! And then years later, when thinking back on it, he never got why he didn't try to get her back when he realized so quickly how big of a mistake it was. Now, he did, at least, as much as he was capable at this point. ..And even when your hope is gone

Stephanie laughed. "You know you like it." Okay, so Steph was never very big chested, tiny girl... small boobs. That was just how the world worked.
But see, after she go pregnant with Hayley, she went up a cup size and well, she had a lot more than she did when her and Landon split.
"And you're not even that far ahead ego boy. So just shoot the damned ball." She smirked, not being able to keep her tough guy exterior.
"Unless you're scared now because I have mad skill." Stephanie had to laugh a bit at tha one.
Right, luck was more like it.
"Won't be long before you're pantless." She winked before moving out of his way.
Oh yeah, her plan was to have him giving the lap dance. Much more fun that way.

Kaitlyn listen to him, taking in his words like a sponge. Afraid of happiness? He was afraid so he broke her heart. Now after gaining closure he is reopening the wounds that just barely healed with more of his words. She wanted to believe that it was all true, but after all the years of doubt, and concluding it was her, it was hard to think otherwise on this matter.
But she hadn't expected to feel his hand on her cheek, only then did her eyes flash up to look at him. He had been looking at her, for how long? She swallowed everything he said, and just sat there. How cruel can life get. Giving the one person to hold all the power to hurt you with emotions. Break you and leave you bleeding, then come back saying they didn't want to. What had she ever done in her past to deserve such horrible treatment with Karma?
"James.... I..." She couldn't do anything, frozen within her thoughts and feelings. She felt for James, and she wasn't going to deny it. "I had dreams of being with you for the rest of my life, and you shattered them that day many years ago. It took me a long time to gather up all the pieces and move forward with my life. And now Landon came into the picture, helped carry some of my broken pieces, even some I even missed and has helped me along..."
Biting her lip she looked away. "After all this time your asking me this question I longed to hear weeks after you left, not years. I gave you my entire heart, and without giving me a valid reason you destroyed it." Alright, this was getting too emotional for her. Kaitlyn hasn't ever spoken of the hurt she had felt, but kept it to herself. Shaking her head slightly, her hand slipped out of his, as she stood up. Walking towards the door silently, she just had to get out of that room. She couldn't even face him now.

Landon shrugged dramatically, "Never said I didn't" ha. Yeah well, if she would recall, Landon liked her boobs very much. They didn't need to be huge to be appreciated.
Although Kaitlyn definitely did have bigger boobs...
Um, anyway...
No no wait.
Landon was openly staring now.
"Did your boobs get bigger?" of course, he'd always made a point not to stare at her chest, or any of her really, whenever he occassionally saw her since the break up. He was always with Kaitlyn, and Stephanie was always with James, sooo, staring at her breasts definitely wouldn't have been a good idea.
Now, he was totally analyzing them, and completely distracted from basketball. They had to be bigger!
"Hm? Yeah yeah yeah. Wait up." He got closer to her, stopping about two feet away, "So?" he prompted, waiting for an answer. He was pretty sure he was right though. Ya know, even if, other then at the pool, the last time he had seen this much of her breasts was like, 6 years ago... he was pretty damn sure they were noticeably smaller then!

Landon was obviously staring at her chest. Like, he was making it totally obvious and everything too!
She didn't feel embarassed either, like someone might normally. I mean, ex boyfriend staring and asking if your boobs were bigger? Yeah, uhm. Most people would feel a tad uncomfortable. Not Stephanie, not with Landon.
She shrugged and cupped them, pushing them together. This only increased her clevage. And as he stepped closer she released them. "Since the last time you got to play with them? Mhm. Having a kid does that to you dear." She patted his head, mocking him.
"Besides, its not like you can enjoy them or anything. Remember, I can't touch you at all.. blah blah blah. Which means, you can't touch me either." Stephanie stuck her tongue out at him and pushed him back playfully.
"And anyway, I have a game to win." She smirked at him, her eyes running over his oh-so-perfect body.

"I knew it!!" He sounded so triumphant, and yet, he had ben so slow on the uptake. Duh, he saw her in a bikini before this. Of course... he ha been really distracted at the time. It was awkward, he wondered about Kaitlyn, mostly awkward... Although... he had gone over her body too... Blame it on distraction.
Oh, but the way she did that. Just to tease him. Even her use of words.
Of course, Landon was considerate enough, that despite his little fetish, he wouldn't have done that if he thought it would make her uncomfortable. Ok, he might have stared a little before catching himself, but... The point remained!
He smirked. "Only a matter of time my dear."
Landon turned away, his smile falling only after she wouldn't be able to see it. He hadn't really thought about it when he said that. And he really was happy about it. But he was suddenly reminded of Kaitlyn... Technically, they were still together. This was all still wrong wasn't it? Even though he was trying...
But, he shouldn't be talking like that. Not that she would ever know. Stephanie wouldn't tell if anything (more) happened between them, so it wouldn't hurt Kaitlyn more then she already would be... but... Just, no.
He had enough guilt to deal with already. Despite temptation.
Landon found a new spot, and turned around, grinning now. He wouldn't ruin the playful atmosphere with his pessimism.
"Win eh? We'll see."
He was completely to the side of the court. He also wasn't as far as before, meaning he could throw it high and right in. If you misjudged the distance even a little though... you wouldn't make it. There was no backboard to save you, and often, if you hit the opposite rim, it would just bounce right out.
And Landon, was good at these shots.
He planted is face, glanced at Stephanie and her topless self, looked back at the hoop, and jumped, the ball going far higher then necessary. It went up, and right in, barely touching the net.
"Let's see those mad skills. Swish swish."
Oh yeah, he'd keep up with the unfair shots a turn or two more. Then perhaps, he'd switch it up a bit.

Stephanie' jaw dropped as he moved back and off to the side.
"You are such a ******** jerk." She scowled, crossing her arms tightly across her chest as she watched him take his shot.
The ball hardly even touched the net when he started to gloat.
Her eyes slight, nearly closed, as she glared at him.
"JERK! That is not even fair!"
She got the ball and nearly growled as she went to the spot. Her eyes looked over the net and how far away it was.
"Oh ******** it." She tossed the ball. "Oops," She shrugged before losing a gladiator shoe and tossing it to the side. Yeah, she didn't care. "Looks like I missed, and now its your turn."
Stephanie turned and looked at him, smirking again as she approached him. She brought her hands up to him, but didn't touch him. As she stood up on her toes and leant forward to whisper in his ear, "If you be nice, it'll be worth it. You keep this up... not so much."
She shrugged, stepping back as her smirk remained.

Move along, move along like I know you do.. James watched Kaitlyn closely after saying all of that. Saw her torn expressions... Damn. He didn't want to hurt her more, but.... He just wanted her to understand.
She looked up at him with those deep eyes, so full of confusion, conflicted emotions.
Katy started to speak, and it seemed like James held his breath, waiting for her to continue.
Of course... He had been expecting Landon to come into this. God, did James hate him or what?
When she stopped, he sighed. "I know, I know. That would have been the logical thing to do, but I wasn't feeling so logical at the time. Or I never would have given you up!" She stood, up, starting to leave.
James leapt to his feet and followed, but he stopped at the doorway.
"I didn't have a valid reason! There was no valid reason. It was all illogical, irrational, stupid. And now, the only thing that makes sense to me is how I love you. I want another chance. But I know I probably don't deserve it... Just... Just think about it. Please. That's all I ask."
He turned an went back to the bed, plopping down with another sigh. Damn it all. Was he destined to lose everything?
Well, if he was... It was his own damn fault. What was next, his job? ..And even when your hope is gone

Wasn't the old saying love is blind? Or something like that, the more those few words raced through Kaitlyn's mind, the more things got a little more clear. She didn't exit all the way, but was standing right outside the doorway. Her eyes seeing the little old man smile at her as he left, now they were all alone.
Without turning around, she spoke again. "Even though you ask something like this. It's all I've thought about for years." And that was an honest statement. She would have continued, except David came in, motioning her to come forward, which she did. He held out a letter for her, pecking her on the hand again and left. Opening the letter, her eyes skimmed the lines quickly.
"James. I love you too..." Now to be her usual self, Kaitlyn that was bubbly and fun. She didn't know if he got up or not. But after talking about something heavy like this, it was pointless since she already knew. No matter how much she wanted a future with Landon, realistically it wasn't going to happen.
Turning around, and yet he wasn't there, still sitting down? With a smile on her face she headed back into the room, to see him sitting on the bed. There he is, she thought. Going up to him, straddling his lap and wrapping her arms around his neck, she kissed his forehead. "I just found out that the massage thing we didn't send them to we get. So I will make you a deal. If you give me a massage, a really good one, then I will... Hmm, lets say, stay with you. Be it has to be, like the best massage in the world. Agreed?"
Sure going from a heavy subject like that to being playful is a sharp left turn. But epiphanies do that to a person, more noticeably in Kaitlyn then most girls, since she wears her emotions on her sleeves. But whatever. No time to be unhappy. Got to make the most lemonade with the lemons presented to you.

Aaaw! He really did kinda piss her off! But hey, this was basketball and he was good at it... Not like it was that far away... Ok, but it was a hard shot and he knew it. But could you really blame him for wanting to make her lose, all things considered?
"Hey, it's not like I cheated" Landon teased, although he figured he would finally play a little fairer. He didn't really want her mad at him.
Wow. She didn't even try to make it. Can you say air ball? And then her shoe was just flung aside.
Landon retrieved the ball and looked around, stopping when he noticed her coming over to him.
"Wha- is that black mail?" Because if so, it was working... He shivered, holding himself back, if only barely.
He sighed, and put a finger up, then stepped away.
Landon walked back with the ball, way back back. He stopped when he was a couple feet passed half court. With a bit of a running start, Landon flung the ball with impressive accuracy- leaving it to hit the back board hard and back toward him, bounce, bounce, bounce.
"Oops. Little too hard eh?"
With that, he slowly, slowly, began to dispose of his own shirt, pulling it up over his rock hard abs with his arms crossed as they pulled.**************************************** As soon as forever is through

"Blackmail? Honey, do you really think I'd blackmail you?" She giggled, full on giggle. "Of course I would." She shrugged and watched as he prepared his shot.
There was no way. No ******** way he'd make that shot. She watched as he ran forward and chucked the ball up at the hoop, totally missing it.
"Yeah. Just a tad." She wasn't dumb, just because she was blonde did not mean she was stupid. She rolled her eyes and got the ball as it rolled to her feet. She looked up, actually, just in time to see him slowly pulling off his shirt.
Her heart literally stopped, jaw dropped and her eyes were locked on his abs. She had to think about breathing, forcing herself in inhale and everything. "s**t," She breathed out, reminding herself she had to take in oxygen again.
She bit down on her lip as the shirt hit the floor, along with the ball. She blinked a few times.
"You're making this no touching thing awfully hard honey."
Okay, it was her shot. She could totally throw it, and tease him further, or she could make it and take the upper hand.
Tough decision.
Stephanie made her weak legs walk over to the ball, then she forced herself to focus on the net from a side shot as she aimed, and got the perfect shot.
Swish. Swish.
"There, your shot." She stayed in place, regaining her composure as she turned to face him, hands on her hips and smirking.

Stephanie was dying right now. "Okay. But if undressing you is inappropriate then so is this." She motioned to him, referring to his teasing as well.
"Oh just shoot." She laughed before looking over at the hoop. When he took the shot, he obviously missed on purpose.
Then there went the belt. Her eyes were caught on his uhm... junk. But she managed to look away when she got the ball again.
Fine. Two could play the teasing game.
Stephanie moved back, way back. Her feet shuffling and her eyes on the hoop. She had made it behind the half court line when she jumped slightly, tossing the ball. Of course, when she did so, her chest was definatly being focused on. Because she made sure they bounced.
It hardly made it halfway to the hoop before it fell and bounced. "Oopsies. Your turn."

Move along, move along like I know you do.. Yes. James knew that. She had said so before, hadn't she? Saying it again just drove the guilt further into his mind then it already had before, and that was saying something.
His brow wrinkled with irritation what annoying guy came back, but at least they had been able to talk alone... Hm, and he left wuickly by the sound of it. James was still just lying on the bed listening however, and staring up at the ceiling as he did so.
What?
Did Kaitlyn just say that? So... suddenly?
He turned his head just as she was coming in and sat up quickly, and to have her plunge right into his lap like that! Such an abrupt change. It confused him. Speechless.
James was probably staring at her like an idiot, and slightly open-mouthed at that, by the time she finished.
"Y-yes" he agreed, some shock maybe? He... had been so sure he had lost her. Well, not that he ever had her, this time. It had seemed as though the sex, however euphoric at the time, had been only a cruel teaser- showing him what could never really be again.
He reached up and stroked her cheek, "I love you" he said softly, such a light, charming smile forming on his lips at the prospect. Would it really work out? Should he allow this hope? Ah, but he couldn't help it if he tried.
And.. and yet... something still bothered him. But, it was pushed to the back of his mind by the brighter things, for now. ..And even when your hope is gone
