Kai half smiled and shrugged "My father sent me to a military school as soon as I was old enough and served for two years, my specialty was long-ranged combat. Well, either of you want anything to eat or drink?" he tilted his head slightly.

Emily wasn't so sure about him, and she wasn't reday to except food or drink from him yet. "No thanks, I'm really not hungry or thirsty. Besides, it's not like I'm running on empty just yet". Emily looked out the window as she asked him,"So, just so I don't keep saying, 'Hey you', what's your name?".

"Kai Strauss..and weather you wish to say your names is up to you." he kept his half smile as he turned and walked into the kitchen and poured some dog food in a dish, then putting the dish on the stairs to the basement for the dog. He returned to the living room and sat on his computer chair, leaving the two reclining chairs for the girls if they wanted to sit. "Well, you're welcome to help yourself to anything in the kitchen if you change your mind, though I would rather cook for guests.."

Emily sat down in one of the recliners, "Well, I'm sorry to say that I can not tell you my name. If we were under different circumstances I would tell you". Emily cracked her neck, accidentally using her bad arm. Emily grimimced slightly and then proceded to twist her neck in the other direction.

Kai grinned slightly and glanced between the three "..alright.. I'll just call you Miss..and the sleeping one little kitty..and Mrs. Bird.." he was half kidding, but wasn't wanting to point and say 'hey'. "..do you need some painkillers? I could bring a new unopened bottle if you don't trust me with pills.." Kai glanced at Emily, his eyes rested on her injured arm.

Katie opened an eye slowly.. "Don't call me kitty.. I'm Katie.." She then closed her eyes, curled up a bit more and seemed to go back into a deep sleep.

kiana was temted to knock kai down with a wing for the mrs bird comment. 'for one, im not married, so it would be ms., and two, if you so much as begin to call me ms. bird again, i'll knife you. i only give my name to other half breeds, so you can call me falcon.' kiana went over to katie and held up the girls head with one gentle arm and offered her a cup of water with her free hand. 'here, you'll need this. how do you feel? oh an look here a moment. i need to check your eyes.'

Emily almost laughed at the "Mrs. Bird" comment, but was able to have no outside apearance show it. "Miss is just fine. And no, my arm is fine, I've had worse", she said. It was true. She had had worse. Once she had been shot in her left leg when she was intangled in a gang war. It was soon afterwards that the war ended. Unfortunatly, the police were unable to collect any suspects from either side. If you ever asked Emily if she had anything to do with the two gangs disapearances, she would glare daggers at you and the discussion would end.

Kai was grinning from both Katie and Kiana's reactions. "Alright...so Falcon..Miss..and..the Katie cat.." he pronounced Katie so it sounded more like kitty since he thought they sounded similar anyway, but also turned his chair a bit in case he needed to use it as a shield.

Katie jumped up and pounced on Kai, knocking him back. Sticking her face rather close to his she said to him rather quietly, "You are not permitted to call me that" And then she fell back asleep, using up the energy she had just gained.

Emily chuckled mentally at the scene. Katie was down right hilarious from Emily's standpoint. Emily went and carried Katie back to the couch, wincing from the pain in her arm. As she set Katie back down, she felt something not right. Something out of place. "I wonder where the rest of half-breeds are?".

Kai grinned, though he had hit his head on his desk when Katie pounced on him. "Alright, lesson learned... now I'll go ahead and get myself an icepack." he got up and went into the kitchen, coming back to his spot holding an icepack on the back of his head.

Emily sat on the floor, resting her back on the couch. As she sat down her stomach growled.I just ate though... Dang. I hope 'Mr. Nice' over there doesn't comment on how I can have some of his food". She pulled out one of her knives, flipping it through her fingers with presicion. She then threw it into the air catching it by the hilt. She then proceeded to do it again.
(Sorry about not posting sooner. I was on a family outing. biggrin )

kiana was not amused with her patients little outburst and was grumbling to herself as she moved around the room, cleaning up the slight mess katies punce had caused. 'honestly...some people...no sense.....and that military boy. think hed have more sense than to antagonize injured people, especially strangers. especially funky mutant kids with powers unknown. freakin monkey....next time katie wakes up i might have to sit on her. girl needs food and needs to rest for at least a day. Kai!' she called out suddenly. 'bring me a pitcher of water, a clean glass, and start a can of soup heating, no, make that two cans. what kind of sandwich stuff do you have?'

Kai stood straight when she suddenly called his name "Yes, ma'am.. I have sliced turkey, tomatoes, cheese, lettuce, pickles, onions, white bread and rye bread." he listed off the foods as he got the items requested and set them on the table near Falcon, then went back and started on the soup.
