"I'm with the action hero!" Isaac said, his voice actually loud and clear for once, without a hint of shyness or, in this case, any condescension whatsoever. He stormed out after Carlyle to head to something useful their destination.

"We're lost," Cassandra explained, suddenly. "We need debriefing on an unusual assignment. Something probably sensitive. We need to get back to the Angelship to report in. Ideally directly to the Director of Ops."

Ty laughed good-naturedly at the confused officer. "Our bad! Sorry; could you point us in a useful direction? We just finished up teaming up with the Outlanders to investigate an underground base full of people with numbers on them and Dremmeur Sai was there for a little while and there were experiments being done on people and there was a guy who smelled really wrong and talked really weird and he could have killed us I think but he let us go anyway and ooooh, is that a coffee maker? Do you have cream? Sugar? Thanks!" The boy helped himself to a plastic cup, dripped a quarter cup of coffee in it, and filled it the rest of the way up with cream. Holding it in both hands and sipping happily, he smacked his lips and looked up to notice Carlyle and Isaac had both left.
He blinked.
"Guys? Hey guys, where're you going?" He clearly wanted to follow, but was rooted to the ground by the fact he needed an answer from the superior officer.

"Uh, I think Captain Erikson is submitting some sort of report at the moment. Check the radio tower?" the officer recommended. "It's, uh, at the top of the citadel. Elevators are out and to the left."

"Let's go!" Isaac called from the hallway, obviously changing directions because he had been going the other way. He stormed into the elevator and rode in silence with the rest.
They arrived and found...

"The radio tower is being used for a military high-confidentiality call right now," a guard informed them. "If you wish to-"
The door slid open. "Come on in," Captain Camille Erikson invited them. The guard blinked at her, then at them, then shrugged.

Isaac stomped into the radio tower and stood with his hands on his hips and his chest puffed out. Then he looked around. The Captain, his peers, military equipment, and a bunch of guards?
Oh no.
He suddenly un-puffed and shrank back, becoming his usual timid self now that they were here. Isaac waited for someone else to brief the Captain.

"Captain, Sir - Ma'm - we had an extremely unusual experience. Dremmeur Sai was attacked, and..." Cassandra, more or less levelly, although frequently skipping back to details she hadn't covered, explained to Camille what happened.
"...so we really couldn't even guess what the map meant," she concluded. "We figured you might have a better idea, what with a few of the points we mentioned."

Camille nodded. "I remember that fight," she commented dryly, indicating her lack of a left arm, where just below the shoulder the skin simply continued and the arm just didn't appear. "An Outlander biomancer sealed it as best as it could without a replacement arm on-site. Oh, and we have the D-O on call." She gestured at a screen where Paul McCulloch nodded curtly to them. Behind his head was total blackness, and the lighting was perfectly even; there was no hint at where he was.

"Oh - you were there," Cassandra murmured, turning red. "I forgot about that. And - Mr. McCulloch - sir - did you catch all of that?" she asked. "What do you make of it?"

Ty followed the rest of his team up to the radio tower, grinned and nodded at the guard, and tossed his empty coffee cup in the nearest available trash can. He waited for Cassandra to finish, figuring she had decided to err on the side of over-informing Camille, mostly intent on not staring slack-jawed at the Director of Operations' image. He tried to keep his fingers still. He tried very, very hard to stay professional.
And failed.
The young werefox waved and grinned at McCulloch. "Hii-iii! I'm Ty." He patted his chest, but his voice fell almost to a whisper in his praise. "I think you're awesome."

Isaac raised a hand halfway and stammered, "N-n-nice to m-make your acquaintance, D-Director si-sir. I'm I-Isaac Sc-Screwstrip, C-Clockwork Knight."
Then he retreated back into silence. Apparently Cassandra would handle explaining and briefing, and he could slide by in silence and no one would notice him.

"Isaac?" Paul asked, arching his eyebrow. "You're not very good at keeping out of trouble, are you?" he added. Only Isaac and perhaps Carlyle knew what he was referring to. "I'm not sure what Akai Ryu might have found urgent in Florida, but I'll send a few agents to see what we can find in a preliminary search. You'll be on the Triumphant on standby, pending decisions regarding another mission. Also, I was told a Lucifex was on-site here and was able to break my X7 encryption?

"Uh," Cassandra hesitated. "Yes. There was definitely a Lucifex here, and he... kinda broke the encryption. Kinda sorta with our assistance," she added quietly.

Paul nodded. "Lucifex are nothing to laugh at; the best you probably could have managed was getting yourself killed if you resisted or caught on to what he was doing. Anything else I should know about?"
