maki nodded as the ice cracked under her feet "reon can you go on with out me a sec?" not waiting for an answer maki turned and headed towards a near set of trees.
she set chi down and max hopped onto her head "max, take her underground so she's safe, i'll come back for her ok?" max nodded as chi woke up and grabbed the front of maki's shirt "promis you'll come back oniee san?" maki nodded and hugged her sister, before max and the little girl vanished.
turning back she headed towards reon again "ok, i need to make sure she was safe, now we can continue...."

*Reon calls over to Chi*
"Don't worry Chi! We'll be back soon!"
*Reon looks at Maki*
"Okay let's start climbing!"
*After climbing for about 10 minutes, a loud crack sounds overhead, and a few shards of ice fall past the pair*
"I don't like the sound of that . . . Maki! Do you sense that?!"

maki shuddered "yes, and what ever it is i don't like it" she moved to the side as a few more shards of ice passed them "reon, do you think the cyristals near by?"

"I think it might be closer than we think . . ."
*Suddenly a loud roar sounds overhead. A blast of frigid air blows down on the pair*
"I think we're in for a fight!"

maxi winced as the wind swept past them "i think we might be!" she pointed at a growing crack in the cliff "we need to get off of here and fast!!!" she shuffled over to were reon stood as a large chunck of cliff fell free from the place she was standing.

*Out of the crack of ice above them, a single, glowing eye stared at the pair. A pair of large hands grabbed each side of the crack and forced it open, sending more chunks of ice down the mountain. A humanoid creature pulled itself out of the crack, about 10 feet tall, made of solid ice. In the center of the creature, the Bubble Sapphire was visible, glowing slightly.*
"Oh wow! There's the next gem! It's inside the monster, just like the ruby was . . . Come on Maki, let's take it out! Oversoul!"
*Reon engages his oversoul and the large dragon claw forms over his right arm.*

maki nodded and forced rayeen into her sai
"i only have one question reon" maki jumpped out of the way as a large chunck of ice crashed down the cliff face "how the hell do we fight this thing??"

"Not sure, guess we'll just have to attack and find out!"
*Reon jumps up to the next ledge, the ice creature staring down at him. He made the last jump and was at the same level as the monster*
"Here goes!!!"
*Reon swings his oversoul, but the ice creature easily blocks the attack, only a small crack appearing on its arm. The creature swings it arm and knocks Reon back. He rolls to the edge of the ledge, and falls, barely grabbing the edge in time. He dangles, holding on with one arm*

"REON" maki went to grab reons arm but was knocked back by a gust of wind and sent more ice crashing down the cliff, seperating the two "reon....if i draw his attention you try and get up ok?"
without waiting for a word maki raised her sai and swung them forward in an ex shape, sending a pink blast of light at the thing.
the crack reon made before hand grew but the creature took hardly any damage from the hit.
"i think we're in trouble"

*Using the distraction Maki provided, Reon manages to climb back up onto the ledge*
"I think i have an idea! But i'm not sure how safe it is . . ."

maki back on the ledge "anything's better than being squished by this thing so lets hear it" she side stepped avoiding more falling ice
"and if it works it'll get us closer to destroying hao"

"Well i have the Ember Ruby now, which controls fire. And fire does melt ice . . . but i'm worried i can't control it yet . . ."

maki nodded "what if i make a tunnle for you to channle it down?"
she jumpped and nodded "try it i'll help with what i can"
she raised both sai and slashed them straight down, forming a cryistal tunnle around the beast"hurry up this takes a lot of mana" she dug the sai into the cliff face wincing slightly.

"Ok, here goes! Ember Ruby, integrate!"
*Reon places the ruby into the holder on the ring, and the oversoul turns red*
"Argh, this is tough! I need to hurry! Aaaahhhhhh!!"
*A huge jet of fire launches from the claw, being channeled down the crystal tunnel and engulfing in ice monster*
"It's hard to control it! Almost, there-!"
*The fire stops coming out of the claw, Reon panting heavily drops to his knees. As the smoke and heat waves clear, the ice beast is reduced to a puddle of water with chunks of ice dispersed throughout. The Bubble Sapphire glows within a small piece of ice*
"Whew, we did it Maki. I couldn't have done it without your help."
