Kairi Sora went to go get a ball, and Kairi took that moment to take a deep breathe getting her cheeks less red and heart down to a normal rate. Sora returned a moment later with the ball. He bounced it on the ground near Kairi's feet and Kairi saw that it had a nice bounce to it. The brunette then threw the ball down as hard as he could and it bounced several feet off the ground. He caught it and laughed. Laughing too Kairi said, "Haha it's okay. At least now we know that this ball isn't completely worthless like that other one. And yes that might come in very handy." The keybearer then slowly tossed the ball to the princess. Kairi was glad that he had passed it to her slowly because if he had done it quickly Kairi knew she would have sadly missed. She caught the ball and smiled, happy that she had. She felt like such a dork all happy that she had caught a stupid ball. "Whatever," she thought to herself, "As long as I'm with Sora I don't care what we do." She continued to smile then passed the ball back to Sora.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSoraxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFinally back!!! I can rest up, hang with my friends and... Sora smiled with Kairi when she caught the ball. He was glad that he could always be himself with her, and he knew that she could too. The ball suddenly was thrown at him. He fumbled with it a couple seconds before getting a good hold on it. "Well, I guess that hasn't changed, huh?" he smiled weakly. He tried to spin the ball in his hands and he dropped it on his foot. He heard a roar of laughter from the group before, and he glared over at them. That seemed to set them off even more and he just tried to ignore it.
Sora picked up the ball and dribbled it in place for a minute. Well, at least he could still do that. He again tossed it to Kairi, gently and giving her plenty of visual warning. "So, can you shoot at all?" he inquired. "If I can dribble and you can shoot, we may have a little team going here!" He forgot to ask Lakayna what she could do. She was really quiet and didn't seem like she really wanted to talk, especially to him. He wondered if he'd done something offensive to her. All he'd done was offer his hand. Was that an insult to her or something? He hoped not. He hadn't meant to insult anyone. He'd ask Kairi about it later when they could be alone. GO TO SCHOOL!?!

Kairi Kairi smiled back at Sora. "Hee hee I guess not, but it was kinda my fault for throwing it back at you when you weren't ready. Sorry about that!"Sora tried to spin the ball in his hands, but he dropped it on his foot. Some group of students a little father away roared with laughter. Kairi glared at them and said in a tone much darker then her normal one, "Jeez what jerks. See what I had to put up with yesterday. Screw them." Kairi ignored them and hoped the weren't getting to Sora too much. She looked at him and her normal smile reappeared on her face. Sora dribbled the ball for a minute then tossed it to Kairi again. She caught it just as it was about to go past her shoulder. When Sora asked if she could shoot at all Kairi looked at him a little crestfallen. "Barely," she told the brunette. "Though if I'm really close and directly in front of the basket I can usually get the ball through the hoop... So yes maybe we might have a little team going here," the crimsonette laughed. Remembering that Laykayna was there Kairi dribbled the ball for a moment then tossed it to her who then tossed it to Sora.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSoraxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFinally back!!! I can rest up, hang with my friends and... Sora saw how Kairi glared at the students mocking him and it made him smile. She was just as protective of him as he was of her, he realized. That was different. Usually it was a one-way kind of deal, but he didn't mind. As long as she stayed safe too. He glanced back at the group to make sure no one was going to jump them and then turned back to Kairi.
He stifled a laugh as she admitted that she wasn't the best shooter. At least she could sometimes make a shot. Sora never could. So that was a start! He watched as Lakayna quickly received and passed the ball to him. He was shocked by her catlike reflexes. His own reflexes reacted quickly when he saw the ball flying at him in the corner of his eye. He snagged it out of the air in such a calm manner that it surprised even him. "Well, I guess a ball coming at me beats a bullet or a laser any day," he joked. He hoped that wouldn't remind Kairi too much of the danger he and all of the others had faced. GO TO SCHOOL!?!

Kairi When Lakayna threw the ball to Sora Kairi realized that she was probably a lot better at sports then the brunette and crimsonette. She sent the ball flying towards Sora and he smoothly caught it. "Ooh nice!" exclaimed Kairi. She gave a little laugh, "Mmm yes a ball beats a bullet or laser any day. Ah lasers... That makes me think of that jerk Xigbar. I hadn't seen you for a whole year, and when I finally do see you he has you, Goofy, and Donld pinned down by Heartless. I had never been so mad in my entire life!"

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSoraxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFinally back!!! I can rest up, hang with my friends and... Sora was surprised by Kairi's reaction to his words. It obviously didn't bother her as much as he would have thought. Whenever he brought up something about their journeys with Riku, he'd have to watch for either a fist or a weapon coming at him. That was a bit of an exaggeration, but he did have to be careful around the silvernette. Of course, Riku had been through just as much as he had, if not even worse. At least the brunette had gotten to sleep a year of it away. Dying was no picnic though...
The name Xigbar brought back a rush of memories he'd forgotten he'd had. He grimaced when Kairi brought up the most prominent. He'd hated being pummeled by Heartless the first time he'd gotten to see Kairi in over a year. He'd beaten (and killed) the number II in Organization XIII for that. He was one of the few that hadn't been as big of a pain as he could have been. He'd only run into him once before that in the Land of Dragons where he'd mistaken him for Riku. "Yeah, that guy was weird," he commented, before taking a lame shot at the basket. It missed by a mile and the group's guffaws echoed from behind him. "He acted like he was our best friend until he shot freaking lasers at me. Last I checked, friends don't try to kill you. With a few exceptions of course." That exception was Riku, obviously, but the brunette had gotten over that for the most part. GO TO SCHOOL!?!

Kairi "Yes he was," Kairi replied as Sora took a shot at the basket. He missed and that set the other group howling with laughter again. Kairi retrieved the ball taking a shot at the basket as well. It looked like it was going to go in, but she had thrown it too hard so it bounced off the back board. Once again laugher could be heard behind them. "Almost..." Kairi mumbled ignoring them . She then turned her attention back to Sora. "Yeah friends don't try to kill you," she said. Kairi stood there with a troubled look on her face. The princess, for the most part, learned after their journeys to forgive those she could (like Axel) and to just deal with or forget those she couldn't (like Xigbar). But there were some events and people that she hadn't gotten over yet. Like Saïx. True Axel had been the first to kidnap her, but Saïx had been the one who stole her from him and locked her up. And then because of that, to Kairi's horror, Sora was placed in danger. Kairi was so scared and worried for Sora, and there was nothing she could do. Thank goodness Naminé had helped her escape. But still, after that whole experience there was a fear deep inside Kairi's heart that someday someone might try that again. And if they did Kairi would be endangering Sora once more. That was the absolute last thing that Kairi wanted.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSoraxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFinally back!!! I can rest up, hang with my friends and... Sora watched as Kairi made a shot at the basket, and was much closer than his own shot. "That was really close," he praised her, using every ounce of his self-control so he wouldn't turn around and kill the group laughing at her. It would be so easy. But it wouldn't be nice... it'd feel nice, but it wouldn't be nice. He went over and picked up the ball, then dribbled it back to Kairi's side. He decided any more shots would be a waste of time (for him, at least) and not doing it would save them from another round of laughing. He decided to try something he'd never done before. He tried spinning the ball on his index finger. It was very unsuccessful, but he'd tried.
Sora looked at Kairi with a sheepish smile on his face and noticed there was something different about her expression. It had only been there for a moment, but it looked distressed. Like something was bothering her. He held the basketball casually at his side and cocked his head inquisitively. "Is something bothering you?" he asked her sincerely. "You look bummed." He half-smiled, trying to make her feel better. He hoped he hadn't brought this about with his comments about the Organization. GO TO SCHOOL!?!

Lakayna's reactions seemed more automatic than anything. It wasn't until she heard other kinds laughing at one of her friends did she finally fully snap back into reality. She sent a menacing glare at the kids, baring her fangs and growling at them. Lakayna wasn't sure why she'd done that exactly, but she wouldn't let people make fun of her friends just because they weren't good at sports.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSoraxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFinally back!!! I can rest up, hang with my friends and... As Sora stood next to Kairi, a terrifying growl came from Lakayna. The brunette turned to her, eyes wide in shock. Well, hadn't pictured a sound like that being capable of coming from her. She'd been very quiet, but that was not quiet at all. To make things stranger, he noticed her teeth as she snarled. They were very sharp, almost like that of an animal's. He stared at her incredulously and accidentally dropped the ball in the process. He temporarily forgot Kairi's unhappy face.
After a moment, Sora finally shook himself out of the jaw-dropped stare. He glanced at the other kids to see what they'd thought. The wimpy ones cowered back, quickly shutting up. The other ones still snickered and acted like they weren't scared at all. But the brunette knew they were; he could see it in their eyes. He finally turned back to Lakayna, trying not to look half as shocked as he was. "What was that?" he questioned, still not believing what he'd heard/saw. "I have to admit I wasn't expecting that from you... Thanks, though." GO TO SCHOOL!?!

Lakayna's hand instantly flew over her mouth. She'd seen Sora out of the corner of her eye and the way he'd looked at her, and she knew he'd seen her teeth. She took a moment to calm down before she turn to Sora and removed her hand. "I just can stand it when people make fun of my friends," she replied, "It's just so insensitive and indecent."

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSoraxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFinally back!!! I can rest up, hang with my friends and... Sora felt slightly guilty as Lakayna clapped her hand over her mouth when she noticed him gawking. Maybe she was insecure about her teeth or something. He couldn't do anything right today to any new friends... She seemed to forget that she'd noticed him, but did acknowledge his question. He decided not to push the issue and save the questions about growling and sharp teeth for another time.
Again, the brunette found himself looking at the group that had been mocking them. They'd all shut up and were busy passing the ball. Served them right, stupid jerks. He'd love the day they did fencing, or had Struggle matches. After a moment of hearing what Lakayna said, he registered she'd said friends. He wondered if she meant both him and Kairi, or just Kairi. Either way, she'd said it. "Me neither," he told her. "They're just envious because we can have a good time and not worry if we look stupid or not. They have to struggle all the time to look cool and be someone they're not. We don't have to worry about that." He bit his tongue as he felt like he was going to say too much again. There were so many connections he could make to his adventures, and whenever he did that, it got him monologuing. And that was something he didn't want to do at this moment. Or at school ever. He reserved his monologues for bad guys only. GO TO SCHOOL!?!

Lakayna nodded and smiled, feeling more comfortable around Sora. She already knew a bit about him, so she'd be able to believe what he said if her ever brought up something up about his adventures. "Sora, you don't need to try so hard," she said, "I mean, you know; if you have something you wanna say, just go ahead and say it." She looked at the brunette's dark blue eyes. "You look like you have something you want to ask me. Go right ahead and ask it." She waited, her hands out and ready to catch the ball. She knew that Kairi was still there, but the girl looked like she was off in her own little world.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSoraxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFinally back!!! I can rest up, hang with my friends and... Sora was surprised by Lakayna's sudden warmness. Well, it was better than her out-of-it attitude she'd had before. He did, for some reason, want to tell her all about the crap he and Kairi had to go through back before they'd came back to school. He really wanted to tell someone that, someone who would believe him. Why in the worlds did he think Lakayna would believe him? Because she was from a different world. The brunette shook his head mentally. Why did he suddenly think that? The teeth, the snarl? Had that been it? That could all be normal though. He couldn't assume she was from another world because she was different. That wasn't an insult to him, but to anyone else it probably was.
"There's nothing else I want to say, really," he half-lied. He did want to say it, but not here, not now. However, he got the feeling there was something Lakayna wanted to say. Something had been bothering her, and he thought maybe he could get it out of her. Usually people felt better sharing their problems with other people. Yet he wondered if she'd ever tell him. Kairi, maybe, but probably not him. He tossed her the ball, seeing that she had her hands open for it. "Is there something you want to say?" he inquired. GO TO SCHOOL!?!

Lakayna shugged as she caught the ball. "I really don't know," she replied, "There are many things that I could say, many things I want to say, but..." She paused and looked towards the hoop and shot the ball up towards it, making a basket. The ball bounced back, and the dragon girl picked it up. She looked back towards Sora, ready to pass him back the ball. "...many of the things would hardly be believeable. You may be able to believe most of those things, but some of the things are probably ones that shouldn't be said. You know the darker things, something most people would never believe, even if they saw it with their own eyes or things they wished they'd never heard or witnessed."
