Aura rolled her eyes. "Well, obviously it didn't. Mom sent me back and it's her spell. It wouldn't keep her magic out," she pointed out. "It might have kept me out if I'd tried to get home on my own. You never know."
When Artemis began talking, Aura frowned. "Camps? Oh, those." Looking at Einon, she asked, "That's where Mom went when she was looking for Dad, right? Earlier?" She was a little doubtful. Then it came to her. The boy her father had mentioned when he'd come home. This boy had to be him.
Oh.

Engela smiled sweetly back at him. "I'm not quite a house bird yet," she replied just as quietly before returning her attention to the threads. Yes, she'd gotten into it, and now there were more.
Nightmare threads had always been a specialty of hers. Perhaps they wouldn't all die, eaten up by their worst dreams - but those that lived would be completely, irrevocably insane. They drained her quite a bit, but when she was in one of her moods, the effect was worth it.
She supposed she ought to feel worse about it than she did. If Aura had still been here, she would have used something kinder, something that would kill quick and clean - but Aura wasn't here, and Mathias had seen her indulge in worse.

Some of the soldiers began freaking out Maverick glared and sighed he looked at Engela he picked up the bow of a fallen Archer and quickly shot a bunch of arrows at her and said "stupid whore leave this place you have no buissness here"
Leon heard the words that came out of the young man's words and he looked wide eyed at Vix and said "stupid boy doesn't know who he is talking too eh"

((OOC: Wait, they can see us? *had thought Mathias and Engela were still around the corner*))
Vix chuckled lowly. "I guess the only question is whether Mathias kills him for insulting her or Engela does for the hell of it first."
Engela's shield was nearly effortless. After twenty years of practice, she was better than she'd been. Although one or two did get through - her attention was more on the threads than on him - she managed to avoid anything more than a slight graze on the shoulder. Her eyes rose to the young man speaking to her, and she suppressed a smile. "Boy," she replied evenly, "I have more reason to be here than you or any of your men."

Maverick glared at her and the troops there were still remaining he ordered a full retreat "we're done here for now" watever troops hadn't lost their sanity or died followed him out almost running for their lives

Vix lifted a brow when Engela allowed the stranger to retreat without attacking him. "On the other hand, maybe she's decided to restrain herself."
After watching the boy retreat, Engela smiled to herself and walked over to Vix and Leon. "Getting yourselves in trouble again, I see," she said lightly by way of greeting. "Haven't you two had enough of this sort of thing yet?"

SilentShadowDreamer Alexa gave a small, wry smile. Glad though she was that Kirra hadn't felt the need to continue on the path she'd unintentionally pointed out, she also didn't know what else to say. She realized with a small start that she was tired. More tired than she'd felt in ages.
With only a brief minute or two of wondering if Kirra had set this up somehow, her eyes closed slowly and she relaxed - not quite sleeping, but unable to remain fully awake.

Leon gave her a hug a friendly one he was just glad to see her again and released and said "and you haven't? though i think I am getting too old for this...i hope alex is okay" he sighed

((OOC: I hope it be okay if Mathias does a little 'payback', even though the post is out of sequence. I can't allow someone to insult my wife! Could you make a post to reflect this one, Sivler? If it's not too much.))
Mathias smiled as he watched them all sucumb to his beloved's threads. For the fraction of a second, he pitied the troops. What a waste of life. He snarled when he heard Maverick speak about his wife like that. He summoned a massive arc of shadow lightning, hurling it towards Maverick and striking him in the chest, knocking him on his a** before he left. "HOW DARE YOU CALL MY WIFE THAT NAME YOU FILTHY LITTLE WORM!!!" His voice echoed throughout the town, even if it didn't hit a wall to bounce off of, almost as if the voice was around them all. His eyes burned with black flames as he watched them leave. Turning to Leon and Vix, Mathias's eyes returned to normal and he glared at Leon. "I TOLD you to take it easy. If you turn into a vampire, your wife AND mine will kill me." He watched Leon hug Engela, the only non-family guy that was allowed near her without receiving a snarl from him.
Einon nodded to Aura's comment about getting through. "True." He tossed the ball at Aura to see what she'd do with it.
Artemis smiled. "Yea. Man, when she came out of that portal, I thought she was gonna KILL him. There was a brief flash in her eye that looked dangerously at him. Hehe."

((sure thing creep deserves it anyway XD)) Maverick fell onto his a** after ordering the retreat once again he glared and spat at the ground and left after his troops
Leon smiled at Mathias and said "i did old friend i didn't fight anyone i just gave orders i swear" ((sorry edited i had to go take care of something rather quickly))

Looking intensely at Leon, Mathias sighed and chuckled. "Yea yea. ONLY gave orders. We've ALL heard that one before." Mathias patted him on the shoulder. "Now let's go find out how that little pryo mage is doing with your son. Or more importantly WHAT she's doing with him." Mathias laughed at his own little joke, something he never would have done 20 year ago. But the absence of war, and love in its place, softened him.

(wow, a lot of the old good guys are coming back...i feel so left out.)
Kray smiled and extended a hand. He shook the elder’s had warmly. His body suddenly stiffened as he sensed something coming towards their direction at high speeds. He had been using the sword so long and have developed his dark sense that any disturbance within a 50 mile radius, he could feel. unnaturally strong people are headed this way, into the desert? there could only be one reason for that and he cursed himself for not thinking of it earlier. If he had heard information about his village that he didn’t know, that must mean others heard it as well. So what kept them from finding the village. The protections placed on it would keep it from view if the people did not walk through a certain area but that couldn’t keep it hidden forever. “I’m truly sorry but there is something that I must check up on. Balon, come with me. I had hopped to allow you to heal naturally but something has changed. I didn’t want to heal you with dark magic because it would have side effects later but I think I have no chose. This will only block the pain and your fatigue so don’t over do it. It will all come back once it wares off.” Without waiting for an answer, Kray formed a dark orb in his hand and had Balon’s body absorb it. “come, I’ll explain on the way.” He said leaving with haste.
Balon was extremely confused but with his body feeling normal again, he followed Kray out the door. They grabbed their weapons and ran out the east exit.
Kray studied the energy emitted by the 2. he was not worried about beating them in combat, they were no match for him even on a 2 on 1 what he was worried about was them getting the other dark artifact before Balon. He ran with all haste toward his old village.

Gah! I went to rehearsal and came back only to realize that everyone's waiting on me! I'm sorry!))
Alexa stirred finally, shaking her head. "Wow," she muttered. "Guess living off two hours of sleep finally caught up to me." Grinning up at Kirra, she said agreeably, "Sorry about that. I seem to be making you do all the work here."

Engela smiled faintly when Mathias got all righteous about her honour. It was always entertaining to realize that he cared about insults towards her more than she did. "I wouldn't worry about it, Mathias," she said lightly, returning Leon's hug briefly. "Vix seemed to be looking after him just fine."
When Leon made his point, she laughed slightly. "Touché," she replied. "You know we can't stay away." At his mention of Alex, she frowned. "Why, what's the matter with him?"

Vix winced. "Please, boys," she said. "It may be old-fashioned, but I'd rather not be forced to think about my child's sex life. Also, don't worry, Mathias. I've been keeping an eye on this one," she added, indicating Leon.

Aura caught the shadowball absently and began twisting it into ribbons absent-mindedly, her thoughts a million miles away. When Artemis spoke, she jumped a little. "Oh. Yeah." She grinned conspiratorially at Einon, obviously deriving keen amusement from poking fun at her parents in their absence. "Dad's supposed to be all dangerous and stuff - or at least he used to be, I guess - but Mom has him wrapped around her little finger."
