Bubbles erupted from Alek's mouth as he found himself laughing. Despite the water, he found that this form of play was fun. Though the cattaur did admit that he was at first worried about Ashierra and a flash of guilt hit him as he surprised her. Frowning he pushed towards the surface and let go of Ashierra. "Sorry."
Back away the cattaur turned his back but then one last idea hit him though as he floated there in the water. "Hey. I wanna try something." Turning towards her Alek smiled and his slightly steaming tail flicked eagerly behind him. "Follow me?" Tugging at her hand, Alek slipped back underwater.

Gasping at the air, she shoved a splash of water at the male. "You better be." She huffed, hiding a laugh behind the false scowl. When she'd stopped panicking... that had been fun. A little... Before she could register, still thinking about the tumble in the water, she was looking at empty air. "Alek, what-?" She sighed, rolling her eyes. He was so implusive sometimes. With a deep breath, she followed after the male.

Alek laughed. At least she wasn't actually angry. "Aye. A thousand apologies to you." He had winked at her playfully before disappearing underneath the surface. The more he looked the more the cattaur felt intrigued by the under water world. No wonder syrins preferred this to land. Though he himself would rather bask out in the sun.
But who said he couldn't play first? Ears twitching Alek turned to find that Ashierra had actually followed him under. Grinning bubbles escaped his mouth as he reached out for her hands and pulled them close together.
Of course swimming underwater wasn't just what he had in mind. Without hesitation Alek pulled forward and brushed his lips against Ashierra's before going for a deep underwater kiss.

Swimming. When had she last gone swimming for fun? It had been a long time. As she sunk lower, she remember images of jumping into large, cool pools made by the magic of the clan. How she managed not to inhale in surprise at the sudden contact, she didn't know, but suddenly she was trapped in Alek's warm embrace, and how comfortable it was. The water made her body feel light as they hovered in suspension, her arms immediately wrapping around the male's waist. This was too interesting to be indignant about.

Holding on to Ashierra he made a purr of happy surprise as she wrapped her arms around him. Somehow with her close to him like this Alek didn't worry about the coolness of the water. Instead it felt very warm and nice. Closing his eyes Alek pushed their limit by deepening the kiss.
The kiss lasted until something tickled against his tail. Peeking an eye open, the cattaur tried to look around and saw a school of small silver fish swimming around them. Laughing bubbles, Alek pulled away from Ashierra only to nuzzle her neck before having to resurface with a gasp for air.

The water was more like a warm supportive cloud than crisp and wet. She even almost forgot the water was there until the kiss was broken. Her lungs burned for air and she swam up after Alek, gasping at the surface, where the hit of air was a hit of reality. Face turning pink, she swam for the shallows, eyes averted to the side even though she wasn't facing Alek. She was in deeper than she had thought... So much deeper...

Oh boy. Alek's ears flattened against his head as he looked after Ashierra. Maybe he should have at least let them play some more before ruining things...again. Shaking his head once more -to free his ears of water and his expression- Alek started wading after Ashierra to the shore.
The instant he was out of the water, Alek's fur started to really steam as he used magic to dry off the water. With a sigh the male started heading back the path towards the forest before sneaking a look to Ashierra, "I'm gonna go get something to eat. We can camp here tonight."
Feeling a little thoughtful and confused Alek slipped in between the trees and went to find a rabbit or something for their supper. Mainly though he needed time to think and to finally make a decision.

Ashierra was looking at her hands when Alek spoke. Food? Yeah, she was probably hungry. "M'kay." She muttered, not looking up until the male had vanished, and then watching the brush even after it had stopped moving. So deep... Sighing, pushing her hair from her face, she got up to start a fire pit. She left the water to dry slowly on her fur and skin, finding the water a comforting, nostalgic feeling, helping her to think. The fact that they had already........ had a night together, she should have seen this coming. Perhaps she should have left earlier? She frowned, breaking a branch from a tree. No, that sounded wrong. She thought and thought as she built up the fire place and cleaned up around it.

Alek spent a lot of time reflecting on things even while he was killing the rabbit. It was true that life had been less interesting when he traveled alone...but hadn't it been easier? He chuckled. "On my heart that is."
It was rare for him to let anyone close like this. The only ones he still trusted were those he had been raised with that had stayed by his side despite his choices. And that number itself was few. "But look now." Alek sighed and stopped pacing the small path as he forced himself back towards the creek...towards Ashierra.
"Here. I hope one should be good?" He tossed the fat rabbit to Ashierra and sat. Wow, look at that. Alek blinked as he noticed that the sun was already starting to set. "Evening already." He whispered before peeking back at his traveling companion.

Hearing Alek's return, Ashierra took a deep breath. She should talk about it, but how did one talk about their feelings? Catching the rabbit, she raised her eyes and nodded. "Should be." She said, nibbling her lip, glancing over at the setting sun. Was it really evening? Bringing her thoughts to a point, she started to prepare the rabbit, too distracted to tell him off for expecting her to just automatically cook the meat. "Which way would you like to go tomorrow?" She asked, peeking up from the meat to the male.

"Ah." Alek nodded before stretching out alongside the bank. Normally he would have more to say or would offer to help, but for now he was distracted. It even took him a minute to register Ashierra's question. Which way would he like to go tomorrow?
"What about you?" Alek finally asked looking up at Ashierra. "Which direction do you want to take?" His gaze was light, but somehow that question had more than one obvious meaning.

Ashierra's brow furrowed slightly, wondering what was on Alek's mind. He seemed distracted. She looked down when her question was tossed back at her, sounding a bit different than before. Was he upset that she had scurried so quickly from the kiss? ....Duh. What else could it be? She should have hit his shoulder, dunked his head back down, something other than run like a scared kitten. "...South I suppose. ...Get where it's warmer?" She smirked slightly, a hint of mischief in her eye as she glanced up at Alek and then back down. "Less chance of shocking ourselves with cold water repeatedly..."

"Warmer sounds good." Alek replied with a faint smile, "Oh yes, the fears of cold water." He shook his head with a sheepish smile. "Maybe we should travel by the ocean line towards the desert?" He asked thinking out loud. That would be okay. He did like the feel of sand beneath his paws after all and the crash of the waves against the shore was an added bonus.
The cattaur yawned again before looking up at Ashierra, "How's dinner coming along?" He asked. After dinner...then he'd bring it out...maybe. Alek's gut clenched and it wasn't just from hunger.

Ashierra found a flick of a sheepish smile on her own face. "Yeah, we could follow the ocean. That would be fine." Actually, that sounded quiet enjoyable. Better than tromping through some woods. Dinner? Looking at the rabbit in her hands, she gasped and stopped her magic. She'd made the firepit, got it all set, then forgot to put the meat on the flames, cooking it in her hands without thinking. It looked more done than she prefered... "It's done." She peeled meat off for herself before handing it to Alek.

"Great." He was glad she was okay with the ocean. Now that he thought about it...hadn't their journey started in front of the ocean as well? Alek chuckled softly as he remembered how that day had gone. Not exactly smoothly, but it had been fun.
"Oh definitely." Alek made a sympathetic expression -after all he couldn't count the number of times that he had made that same mistake- before ripping into the meat himself. "Mmm." He purred before swallowing another bite.
