'Or Kailee and I should just go somewhere and Elope.' Leon teased pulling Kailee deeper into his arms and kissed her forehead. He was teasing but still if the mother was trying to joke he'd join in. Softly he hummed a lullaby softly in her ear.

Kailee's mother laughed. "Hahaha! Haha! You do that and I will hunt you down and rip out your intestines." she said, her cheerful face fading into a fierce glare.

"She means it." Kailee murmured, not really perturbed. Eloping didn't appeal to her. She wanted the wedding, and she could veto anything her mother wanted in the wedding that she didn't want.

'Well then maybe it would be the best if you don't separate the bride and groom during the reception.' Though Leon did feel like he was forgetting something. Something important.

Kailee smiled. "She won't. I have final say." she murmured, cuddling into Leon.

"Shh! He's not supposed to know that yet!" Kailee's mother mock-scolded her daughter.

"Nyeh." Kailee muttered, raising just enough to stick her tongue out at her mother.

Leon laughed a little and pulled her into a kiss. 'My cheeky wolf.' He purred against her lips his hand ran down her side to her hip. 'Don't you mean we have the final say?'

Kailee giggled. "Aw . . . you mean I don't get all the decision making power?" she teased lightly, starting to wake up from Leon's attention.

Leon smiled. 'Only the bride stuff, like the dresses, bridesmaids, food, cake, that sort of thing. I'll take care of the vampire stuff. Okay?' He whispered caressing her cheek. 'Don't worry everything will be perfect my love.'

Kailee smiled. "Of course it will." she said softly, reaching up and pulling Leon down so she could kiss him. "I'm marrying you." she stated in a manner-of-fact way as though he should have known it would be perfect for just that reason.

Kailee's mother quietly slipped away, leaving the two lovebirds to themselves.

Leon used up some blood to blush a little and kissed her back his arms tightening around her protectively. 'And I'm marrying you.' He whispered on her lips. 'The woman I love. Silly of me to think it wouldn't be perfect when it will be even if it's just you there.'

"Absolutely perfect." Kailee affirmed, kissing him again.

On the edges of Kailee's clan's territory, a rival clan was plotting the downfall of the royal family. "Now Aven, the wedding of the princess to the most abominable of all creatures will take place soon. Poor girl, it'd be better for her to die than marry one of 'those' things. And once she's gone, we'll make this territory our own . . . and you and I can rule together."

". . . Of course."

'Um Miss? A letter for the Prince of Vampires...from his sister.' Leon looked up from his showering of affections to Kailee and frowned. 'Which one?'
'The married one.' The servant replied. Leon held his hand out for the letter. When he opened it the writing was in the code he and his sisters made up. His eyes widened first in surprise then his expression dropped.
'Now I know what I was forgetting.' He muttered re-reading the note.
To my dear little brother:
It grieves me to write to you in this code but I must as I have no choice. First some good news. I have had my twins! A little girl born first then a little boy. I've named the little girl after our mother and the little boy after you. We will be making it to your wedding soon. We should be there at most a day after this letter arrives. Now to the bad news. Our territory was invaded. My husbands men did their best but the invaders were just too strong. Their markings were unfamiliar. Please my brother be careful, they may try to attack you during the wedding! Please be on alert. The men my husband has left are escorting us and will aid your future family's men when we arrive

Kailee blinked when Leon's expression dropped and muttered something about knowing what he forgot. "What is it?" she asked, sitting up and reading the letter over his shoulder. "That's . . . That's not good." she murmured softly, worried about the invaders.

'Y-you can read the code?' He asked shocked. 'But yes we should be careful. And yet...it proves we can have children. My sister is a vampire and had twins, her husband is a Lycan. He...I think he is an ally of yours. The MacGrieve clan. They have pretty women but...they have a habit of being very...what's the word...possessive? I think is the word I'm looking for?'

Kailee blinked. "Well . . . it's not that difficult. There's a pattern there. Just remove these, replace those, it took me a little bit but I can read it." she said, pointing to the areas in the letter that she had noticed the pattern in and decoded it. But then she paid attention to what Leon said and smiled, nodding. "Yes, I know that clan. He's actually the one who sent messengers to my parents to convince them into making the engagement between you and me." she said, having eavesdropped several times on her parents.

Leon smiled brightly. 'Well I'm so glad he did. I got to meet the most beautiful woman I've ever seen in my life.' He held her close. 'And she's smart too. Maybe you can help us fix the code so that others can't decode it as easily as you did to mine.' He suggested then kissed her softly.
