Woolie actually is woolly. She's a sheep. A purple sparkly sheep, very rare, better for wool than milk, able to talk and -- thanks to the surprise-evolution of little hooved fingers and thumbs rather than the standard single cloven hoof -- type.
(And no, I wasn't at all offended by what you said earlier. That was funny!)
