Nestled in the fertile forests and foothills surrounding a soaring mountain range, well north-west of the cities housing the Cathedral and the Iron Fist's fortress, were a number of small communities that called themselves the Dale-lands. Spread out across the land, each small community hosted it's own comfortably successful fashion of taking care of it's own people; a farming community here, a hunting and tanning community there. Linked in trade, as well as a general dislike of the pretentiousness of the "city folk", the people of the Dales managed to live out a fairly comfortable life, despite the need for hard work from all members of each community.

Set further in the foothills, several small rivers pooled into a large, heavily forest-shrouded lake. Due to the tendency of the winter run-off to cause that lake to flood, no real communities had settled around it, instead using the rivers themselves as a source of travel, as well as a source for fishing. The grandest of the rivers, the one coming directly from the mountains themselves, was the home of one of the largest communities of the Dale-lands, a miniature city all in itself. Settled a very short distance downriver from a grand waterfall, Mistdale was a thriving community boasting several water-wheel mills, many well-worn roads leading off to other towns, and a bustling series of taverns to service the daily marketplace traders.

Miners would travel down the river to trade their gems and minerals, trappers and hunters used the small city as a meeting and re-supplying location. Farmers would offer their produce, and the small, but thriving gathering of craftsmen would ply their wares, free of what they considered "city concerns"... nevermind that half of the traveling merchants that came through often took the gathered goods to those very locations. It was even said that, on rare occasions, some of the reclusive forest-dwelling Elves would tentatively make their way here, to observe and offer a small tithing of trade.

A beautiful roaring scream, of joy and sorrow so extreme...

The ever observant gypsy makes a quick scan of the village around them as they cross into familiar territory. Well, familiar to her at least. Specifically she was trying to gauge just how much of a raucous their presence would be causing amongst the townspeople. Thankfully the folks here see enough traffic that the appearance of the mismatched group doesn't cause too much alarm. Grateful for one less drama trigger in the mix, she leads the party towards the tavern.

She slides off of her mount smoothly and ties the reigns to the fence behind one of the drinking troughs. "All right, as I mentioned before just try to keep it cool here. These people are used to travelers and traders, but they don't get nearly as many soldiers coming through. When we go in, you guys find a table and lay low. I need to approach my friend alone ... at first. I'll bring her to you when I think she's ready."

Making sure everyone seems to understand, Talise strolls into the tavern.

There is a love in me raging. A joyous, magical feeling...

After Tali gives her warning about remaining incognito, Ky sighs in relief. He had debated whether or not he should wear a dark travelers cloak over his white and blue uniform, and now he was glad that he had decided to do so.

"I hope there are not any people who are looking for a fight in there. I would hate to have to draw attention to us because someone is feeling violent."

With that Ky dismounts his horse and ties its reigns next to Tali's mount. He holds the door open for Azmyrra and Evalin.

User ImageOffering a faint nod to Talise, Asmyrra slid from the saddle, gently coming to rest beside her horse. A few subtle stretches to ease muscles back into the idea of doing their job instead of the equine mount, she then turned her attention to tying the reigns of her horse near the water trough, and sliding one of her saddlebags free. She had no intention of leaving the contents of that bag anywhere out of her sight; the contents within it, including her spellbooks, were just too valuable, especially after the loss of her swords.

Giving Talise a moment's lead start, Asmyrra pulled the hood of her cloak up into place, adding another level of anonymity to her appearance. At the beginning of their journey, she had finally put away the Cardinal's robes, and taken some of her older clothing up as standard attire again, including the large, billowing cloak that, when held closed, enshrouded her completely. Probably a good thing, considering her attire was now that of a Kael'dorei Weave-shaper... even if no-one recognized the robe-like dress, the shear outlandishness of it would mark her as very much an outsider.

Once these things were attended to, she offered a firm nod to the rest of her party, and made her way towards the entrance of the tavern, figuring that Talise had been granted enough time to locate her friend... if said friend was even there...

"I definitely agree," Asmyrra murmured, offering a nod of thanks to Ky as she moved through the door. "After all, while we would probably win a confrontation, we'd expose ourselves as outsiders. And the last time I traveled through here, well... the Dale-landers do not respond well to strangers..."

___Asgard left a hand for another ale as the tiny lady spoke. He couldn't help but to bring a smirk to his lips at her words; it did seem like she knew much about the elves, even if she tried to deny it earlier when Azen teased about it. Oh, how tempting was it to just poke some fun at her again, and try to get something out of Domini, but was another fuss really worth it? With how wildly she reacted to the previous teases, he wouldn't want to cause uproar in the tavern again. "I would certainly not fully tell them where I actually got the directions. I could have gotten them from different sources, or gathered different hints from different people. Unless they have mind reading powers or magic, I doubt they could dig into my mind and fish out whom exactly gave me directions. If that was the case, they would not ask questions in the first place, anyway."

___The temptation to ask about why Rosso knew about the elves this much was growing with each word he said. Taking a risk, Azen turned to face the girl with mismatched eyes when, just as he was about to speak and probably bring an unavoidable doom upon himself, he caught a mocha colored figure from the corner of his eyes. The attire of the new person in the place was what caught Azen's attention. His focus quickly switched to Talise. Asgard perked an eyebrow in surprise, obviously not expecting to see his gypsy friend. After a short moment, Azen finally snapped out of it. "My apologies. I'll return shortly." He apologized to Domini and nodded once to her. The large knight pushed his body from the counter and slowly walked to Anora from the side, hoping she maybe wouldn't notice him, but then again he was a huge walking tank: it was very unlikely of him to not be noticed. "Hello little lady. Looking for something, Miss Tali?" He greeted, his lips forming a playful smile.

User ImageHe was smirking at her again... and his next words just confirmed how little this knight guy knew about the Elves, and their magic. Mind reading powers? Ha! Magic? He had nooooo idea. Domini settled her mug firmly to the countertop, those angular eyes sliding closed as her features became a mask... a mask doing a very poor job of concealing the emotion about to explode forth.

The last flare of her temper? More like a candle compared to a volcano...

Drawing a deep breath, Domini whirled to fire away with just how little this knight person knew about the kind of danger he was wanting to waltz into, only to be interrupted by his 'I'll return shortly' comment. Indignation quickly swirled its way into her sudden anger, and the Rosso slid quickly off her stool, upset enough to chase after this... this... Man... only to have her gaze fall upon the person he was trying to 'sneak' up on, and all of her anger drain out of her.

For just a moment, just a mere instant, the Rosso was paralyzed by her usual tendency to be reclusive, to not draw too much attention to herself... but her relief was too much to simply contain. It was probably quite the scene, this poor Gypsy girl being approached on one side by a giant man wearing dark-coloured armour... and then being cannoned into by a small, fast-moving blur of a Rosso, a fiercely relieved, tangibly joyful hug snaring and crushing poor Talise...

A beautiful roaring scream, of joy and sorrow so extreme...

The appearance of her knight friend, whom she had met several months before, caught her completely off guard. Not in a million years did she expect to see him here. A surprised smile starts creeping into her lips as she opens her mouth to reply to his query when suddenly she is tackle hugged by the Rosso monster. Oofing from the pouncement, she lets out a joyous laugh. "Ipo... Ipo... Tali .. can't... breath..." She squeaks, patting the girl's arms as if to say 'let up!'.

Once she can breathe again, she squeezes Rosso warmly. "There is the girl I was looking for!" She proclaims happily. Remembering now that someone else had already tried to get her attention, she looks up at Azen with a smile. "Azen, meet Domini Rosso. She's a dear friend of mine. Domini, this is Azen." She makes the introductions, moving a hand to motion between them. "I can't believe that both of you are here! What are the odds of that? Do you know eachother?"

___Azen chuckled at the display of Domini squeezing the air out of Talise. The giant crossed his arms and waited, not wanting to interrupt anything, a smile still on his face. When the exchange of hugs was done, and Talise introduced them both, Azen nodded once. "We met already. We were chatting before you came in; it's quite a strange coincidence. You actually are her savior, eh." He joked, though knowing it was probably the truth considering most of Domini's reactions when he replied before.

___Asgard showed the bar where Domini and himself were only a few moments ago with a hand. "Thirsty? Miss Rosso and I were talking right over here..." He paused briefly, the slowly rolled his ash irises to the two girls again. "Well, unless you wanted a private discussion, Miss Tali. Then I can just leave you two to it."

Following behind Asmyrra, Ky takes a look at his surroundings. So far nothing seemed to dangerous, and no one seemed more hostile than your usual belligerent drunkard.

Ky sees Tali being approached by a large man in dark armor. The way he speaks to her seems to indicate that they are acquainted with one another. Ky studies the man carefully. He had read stories and documents in regards to those whom wear such armor. Their tenacity for battle almost unmatched by any standard foot soldier.

He then sees a small blur of a woman plow into Talise, embracing her. Ky's hand twitches toward his sword, but when he sees that Tali is laughing he calms and watches with a smile. So this is the contact, he thinks to himself.

User ImageAfter her voracious pounce-hug of Tali, Domini gave the dark knight a faintly dark look, twitching her nose faintly. Glancing back at Tali, Rosso offered a firm shake of her head, scrunching her nose in the giant man's direction, her tone fairly suspicious.

"Do not 'know'... giant guy walked up, started asking questions. Wants to go... er... talk! Talk to Elves, ask them something," she growled, shifting her grip on Tali to simply be one arm entwined... the other free to hover near her waist, and any sort of potential weapons that were concealed beneath her coat. "How you know big knight guy so well? Maybe he is st--... ehm... stalking you!"

Watching the exchange out of the corner of her eye, Eva shakes her head slightly in disbelief. Tapping Ky's shoulder, she gestured towards the table the witch had found.

"She can take care of herself. Shelve the chauvinism for a moment and sit down already."

Her tone was probably a bit sharper than truly necessary but her back and legs were already screaming in protest. Damn horse. Sliding into one of the chairs, she sighed in relief. It was good to sit on something that did not move for once. Waving over one of the servers, she ordered a glass of something that would keep her pain at bay for a short while at least, then glanced over at Ky and the witch.

"I don't suppose either of you drink?"
...that will only bring you grief.

After being "reassured" by Eva, Ky blushes a bit and follows her to the table. He slides into a chair and shakes his head in regards to Eva's inquiry. "I am afraid not. Not a drop of brew has made it past these lips, and I plan to keep it that way. A proper knight must remain alert and oriented at all times."

He looks to the server and says, "Just water will suffice, thank you."

User ImageSettling herself into one of the simple wooden chairs, Asmyrra watched the faint exchange between Eva and Ky with no small amount of inner amusement. Chauvinism, indeed... this Evalin girl did not talk often or at length to anyone but Tali most times, but... most of her comments seemed to be laden with a type of humor that Asmyrra knew quite well, and appreciated. As Ky made his comment about the behavior of a "proper knight" in regards to libations, that amusement became quite readily apparent, her lips curving into a faint smile as one brow arched faintly at him.

"Much to the shock and dismay of many folk, I actually tend to drink quite happily, as long as it's something other than ale," she replied, her purring accent dancing with amusement. "When duty does not require a clear head, I definitely prefer the liberation that is found within a bottle of some sweet ruby wine..."

Turning her attention to the young lass taking people's requests for drinks, she murmured something about either a sweet wine, or failing that, a warmed honey mead. As the woman nodded briskly and made her way towards the innkeeper, those slanted orbs returned their attention to the strange trio near the door. Studying the outlandish attire of the woman who was quite obviously acquainted with Talise for a moment, she turned her attention to the darkly-armoured knight, her brow furrowing briefly in thought. Something about the design of the plating, the strangely familiar craftsmanship...

"...have either of you seen places with such attirements as Talise's new companions wear?"

"Your loss. Nothing like a good brew to make you feel like a new person."

Eva stretched then, wincing as her muscles protested, and stifled a curse as she settled in her chair. Regardless of what the others might say, eva was convinced she would always be sore no matter if she rode a four legged beast from one end of the land to the next. It seemed, as usual, that her pains would get worse before getting better. Then after the pangs subsided, she would be stiff for a few hours. After that, Eva would have a few moments of relief before having to get on the thrice curst beast again. Stifling a second string of curses, she glanced over at the knight Tali was speaking to and shrugged.

"Never paid much attention, but no, as far as I remember. Not that I am any sort of authority on the subject. I never had much chance to travel."

Eva glanced back at the trio then shook her head. She knew enough to tell the armor was of high quality but the make was strange to her. Nothing she had seen before indeed, and it intrigued her. The woman's clothes were not nearly as interesting as new styles were constantly emerging to placate the vain but armor was a different matter. The way the metal was tempered and worked was passed down with little tampering from master smith to journeyman generation after generation. Styles usually did not vary much within an area. Where had he gotten his armor? Shaking her head once more, she took her mug from the serving girl who had returned to their table. What did it matter? Eva would no sooner go running about in such armor than become a decent horse rider.

Ky regards his commander's question carefully. Though he had read about the armor, most of the information provided at the libraries of the Paladin's Rod fortress was nothing short of hearsay or legend.

Ky looks to Asmyrra and shakes his head, "Seen, no. I have only read stories about men adorned in dark armor. Some would tell of dark warriors whom carry a heavy burden in their hearts. They wear the armor as a sign of not only strength, but inner turmoil. Others would state that they are of a select group of knights that act as mercenaries. And there are others still that say the armor is cursed, giving them strength beyond belief in exchange for their souls. These are but stories though. I do not believe they say much in the way of facts."

Ky nods cordially to the serving girl as she sets his mug of water on the table. He takes it into his hand and takes a health swig from the mug. It had a peculiar taste to it, but at this point he wasn't going to complain.
