The host of Dem was over a mile away, though she was easy to find. She was the only one not shuffling around with eyes to the ground, and she radiated both evil and color. Her glowing orange eyes looked heavenward, ignoring Ora's approach.

As Ora approached, recognition quickly dawned. She let out a small sigh. "So, the girl gave up to you, did she?" She slowed to a stop as she approached Dem, keeping a slight distance between them. "Let them go, Dem."

Dem glanced over at her sinisterly. "Ora," they said, in the girl's voice. "Wasn't it your job to protect her? Now we have our revenge. You didn't stop us, your father didn't stop us, that woman didn't stop us... all you who killed us... you failed." They chuckled in a horrible combination of laughs, ignoring their host's choking over the unnatural act. "We win."

"I can't protect someone who doesn't fight for herself. I did what I could for the girl, what was requested of me." Ora gave her a slightly blank look. "Won what? A handful of zombies on a cinder of a planet? The mind of a broken girl?"

((I just realized that I've been posting in the completely wrong color for this character.))
Dem smiled horribly. "You always were a bit slow, child," said a slimy voice Ora would recognize.
And then, Ora was on a different plane. Senses were different there, but the best way to describe it would be to call it pale orange, flexible, and with floor and oddly-angled walls that would a cross between Saran Wrap and plexiglass.

((What slimy voice am I supposed to recognize?))
"Huh, I considered it something more akin to dis-attached, or simply vague?" Ora raised an eyebrow, not overly alarmed as she was transferred somewhere new. She'd traveled to enough places enough times, and generally rolled well with the punches. "I still don't see where this vengeance is going. Are you sure you're doing this right?"

((Beats me. Some dead person from her past, either someone we know or someone we don't. *shrug* Very open-ended. Sorry, I didn't think to specify that, and I should have. v_v))
No voice answered her. On this odd plane, Ora was very much alone.

((Ohhhhhh! I'm just a little slow these days.))
Ora let out a very loud curse, then shouted to the sky. "No, I don't need your help, damnit. I can still handle this myself." She finished her yelling, the appearance of calm dropping over her immediately as she set out to look around the place. She looked up at the sky and ground, looking to see what was visible, how it was visible, and if it could be placed in a known area of some sort. She would have teleport out of the place, but knowing where the place was, was key, if she intended to teleport safely.

((Nah, it really wasn't clear anyway. Just assume that anything with Dem is a random spirit, and that anything that "sounds familiar" is up to you. I don't know any of the old characters well enough to pull them off, even so much as name-wise...))
She appeared to be in a giant, flexible, and slightly warping box. Almost a cube, but with lengths just slightly off of that. She was the only person or object within it, and all sides were opaque. The brilliant orange hues did not effect the colors of Ora or her clothing, however, as if light was coming from somewhere inside the box rather than outside or from the walls.
This was another plane, however, where anything might be possible. There did not seem to be a light source, and there were no shadows. Faintly, a soothing hum pervaded the box. The whole thing was rather peaceful and eerie at the same time.

((You've known Ora for pretty much all the time she was actually active. You missed out on a lot of her childhood instances, but those were only jokes and she really didn't have any plot influence other than eating wedding cake, doing insane things for candy, getting kidnapped, and getting used by Arch to pick up a blonde chick that she referred to as the 'dumbich'. But yeah, I'll fill in names, if I can think of some.))
Ora tried to shake her head as the humming began to sooth into her system. It was relaxing, far too relaxing. She blinked, trying to keep her eyes open. "Damnit, Pat, I can do this." she whispered a second before leaning against the wall of the cube, sliding to a sitting position.
She closed her eyes, trying to block out the humming and trying to focus on a clear destination, something generic, and not too difficult to get to.

((...Eh. *shrug*))
The humming only sunk deeper into her as she closed her eyes, bringing to mind memories of those she loved in times long past. There was an odd feeling in the air, like she might be able to go back in time and be there with them again, if only she dared.

Ora let out a harsh shriek as the faces and voices of loved ones lost began echoing into her head, the pain coming back with each one. She felt some of them, begging her to come back, something that oddly felt like a possibility. "I can't," She choked out, inching closer against the wall, "I promised someone." As the humming pushed harder, Ora clawed into her arm, distracting herself with the flash of pain. The moment her mind was elsewhere she blinked out. Blindly.

Over the years Ora had adjusted to changes in pressure, changes in temperature, among other various changes that occurred when she moved from one drastically different place to another. However, she was almost always aware of what those changes would be, and prepared for them before she ported.
This time was different. The first thing she noted was cold, followed by a surrounding heaviness, and then the knowledge that she couldn't breathe. Ora's eyes opened, blinded and surrounded by dark cold water. She let out a gargled noise, and tried to swim up, though it quickly proved difficult with the use of only one arm and the cold sinking into her limbs.
She pushed for the surface, hoping it wasn't far off, and there at all. She bit her lip at the burning feeling in her lungs, resisting the urge to fill them. Almost there. Almost there. She said it in her mind, pushing herself, even as she realized she was sinking faster than she was swimming. She closed her eyes to prepare herself to port again, but the cold kept them closed, and her mind went blank.

Cassandra ran a hand through her hair a few times as she left orbit for Thesys. She looked harassed, and wondered aloud if this would be the last time she had to chase after this girl with the rainbow tattoos. Settling back roughly into the pilot's chair, she muttered, "Should never have trusted that micarri. Asked for it, I did..."
Her hand paused as the stars caught her eyes, and she gazed at them for a long moment.
For that moment, she looked infinitely tired. Ready to die, were I a mortal woman. She sighed. Damn that man. Damn eternity...
The stars scrolled by with empty comfort.
