"To destroy the single greatest threat to democracy, no civilian in this county should be more powerful than the law."
"Indeed...we are all just roaches...caught in the grasp of a great, phantasmal hand...our destinies unfolding beneath our noses...our minds shaded by the drapes of mortality..."
The voice echoed through the silent halls, the sound of footsteps sounding through the ancient walls as a being approached them, his body draped in a tight, black and gray suit, covered by metal bracers and boots. His face was obscured by a small helmet, the visor exposing hold his left eye; the cask split in color of black to his right and orange on his left with very small slits near the mouthpiece for breath.
His hands were clasping each other at the small of his back, his eye gazing upon the small group, most of his attention however affixed to Ms. Marvel as he approached them from the shadowy archway, his eye slightly leered forward in almost a sneer, his body tilted forward slightly until he stopped walking, keeping his distance from everyone while his eye scanned each of them...
"Death cannot be defeated...completely...neither can life, totally, be extinguished. It is foolhardy to think that one can oppose such dominant forces and come out unscathed, far be it reasonable to come out alive..."
His head would slowly tilt to Elasa, his eye slightly perking as he examined her form, noticing the blue ring and the Lantern symbol on her chest, his eyes almost conveying a sinister smile without his face needing to be seen, "Hope...hope is a weakness...to hope means that a future is uncertain...unplanned...unable to be prepared for...I tell you now my fellows...joining this cause would mean the end...it is best to let the noble fall first...let the weak fall and let Nekron get comfortable...and then strike him below the belt...his ego and self-assured victory, would be much more advantageous then an assault the moment he appears..."
"That's what keeps the order. That's what keeps us strong. I'd rather die for my country than be saved by an abomination like you."

Elasa frowned, looking at the newcomer. "Hope... Is what gives people the will to live," she said simply.
Atrocitus looked to Deathstroke and cracked his knuckles. "You know what is foolhardy?" he asked. "Assuming you can use conventional fighting tactics against a being that is far more powerful than you. If Nekron is not defeated after he appears, nothing will be able to defeat him. Understand?"
Elasa interjected again: "During the Blackest Night, Nekron attacked the Life Entity... and every living thing felt pain. The Entity could have been destroyed, and if that had happened, we would not be here... We would all be dead."
The man stopped in his tracks. That voice... Could it be...?

"To destroy the single greatest threat to democracy, no civilian in this county should be more powerful than the law."
"Perhaps...personally, we should be worried less about unifying ourselves, and more about finding something that can fight him again...unless someone just happens to have a White Ring on them, I suggest we invest in more alternatives...perhaps defending the Life Entity itself should take over importance more then this petty world and its populace..."
His eye only casually glanced at Atrocitus, not at all impressed by any showing of force. His eye then looked over at Elasa, his head tilted slightly in her direction, "If hope gives meaning to life, then meaning is about to disappear...Nekron will eliminate all hope that can exist with his appearance...people will be gripped with fear...they won't know how to act...if we try and fight Nekron without a solid plan, merely striking blindly as soon as he shows his ugly mug, we won't succeed in much..."
His head then slowly turned to the halls, his eye slightly leering as he gazed upon the passageway, his voice now intentionally directed to who remained in those halls, "Growth without cost is no growth at all...we need to make sacrifices to win this battle...the pawns need to move on the chessboard first...they need to understand their place and give themselves for the cause...then the bigger pieces can move...and strike with accuracy..."
"That's what keeps the order. That's what keeps us strong. I'd rather die for my country than be saved by an abomination like you."

Starfire's eyes flared angrily flared green and hissed at the newcomer, "Slade. You have much nerve showing yourself here, Deathstoke."
Dr. Doom considered Slade's words and then added, "Perhaps we are all looking at this the wrong way. Sun Tzu had said that it is foolhardy to attack strength, but to attack weakness instead. The question we should be asking ourselves is: Where is Nekron weak?"

"To destroy the single greatest threat to democracy, no civilian in this county should be more powerful than the law."
"Hmph...precious Starfire..." Slade would softly whisper, taking a few steps to look upon the woman, an evil smile easily seen in his eye, "What? Still bent over how I've treated you all...you should be grateful...I kept you all from being bored half the time..."
His posture would then tilt to Doctor Doom, his eye glistening as he could see that Doom was coming to his point of view, at least partially, to how they needed to act, "And wise Sun Tzu was...to strike at the weakness is what we should really be focused on...and there is only one weakness, true, that can cripple death. Life...we need to find something that can get close to Nekron and grasp Life into him to repel him back to where he came from...but just who could that be?" His voice stretched further as he looked back to Elasa, his knowing gaze looking upon her as insidious retina pierced her sight, looking to her to convey the answer they all knew...
He stared at her for a long moment before he slowly relaxed his arms, raising his palms slightly as he walked a step to Atrocitus, "Come on...even blind rage should understand that brute force will never succeed when the force is just as immovable as your anger...you dig into something just beneath it...sweep them from under their legs and crush in their skull...that sounds much better then just matching muscle muscle, now doesn't it?"
"That's what keeps the order. That's what keeps us strong. I'd rather die for my country than be saved by an abomination like you."

Eira eyed the new comer with a dull curiosity. The room had immediately turned hostile. She wondered at it, but kept her thoughts to herself. Her lips tight with worry, she twisted her staff in hand and sighed, trying to relieve some inner tension.

((By the by, I am not Ms. Marvel, I am Reyna)) Reyna turned keen eyes onto Slade. A small smirk curled her lip. She, for some reason, found this man amusing straight off. She Crossed her arms and listened to him speak, and the others counter. She lost track, getting bored. Her thoughts wandered to Jotin.

Cap looked from Slade, to the various Lanterns, to Firestar, and then he sighed.
"I... Don't know, Firestar. I just don't know," he said softly.

"To destroy the single greatest threat to democracy, no civilian in this county should be more powerful than the law."
"We are..." Slade snapped his jaw plainly, his eye staring at Captain America and Firestar passively, "We are very much getting into something far over our heads. We need plans..we need a strategy...but most of all, we need something worth shoving into Nekron's face, else all our might and muscle will be for naught..."
Slade once more clasped his hands behind his back as he took a few long strides away from them, his eye scanning the chamber around him, his calculative mind blazing, thinking, raging in its robotic mannerisms, always plotting and always thinking...even now, devising ways to get out of this situation the best way he could...
"So...with that said...perhaps we should be focused more on survival...finding that source of Light to our problems..." Slade would slowly turn as he spoke, moving back down the throne room, moving past Elasa and troupe, his eye briefly looking into her's, his eye leering in a slight sneer, the vileness of his gaze almost glowing in his iris...
"It would be a real shame...to lose someone precious before you really knew just how instrumental they could be to this world...to your own well being...it would be a great shame for them to perish before their time...but perhaps it is best they do, before they perish from something much greater..."
He would make a soft chuckle, turning his head away as he continued down the hall, fading into the shadowy walls as he laughed, disappearing from sight and slowly made his way towards where Apex was, his own goals returning to relight why he had come...
And as he vanished from the meeting, moving towards his own goals, the invisible energy of the Dark Lantern would seep through the chamber. It's harsh, melancholy waves of both death and sorrow brimming through the castle as easily as they had permeated through the earth, traveling in search of the recipient...carrying the harrowing, desperate message that meant life or death...
She would hear it in her head, Elasa's ring picking up the energy and processing it, like from radio to radio, a direct link to Zesoranael as he screamed out for her, "ELLLAAAASSSSAAAA!!!!!!"
"That's what keeps the order. That's what keeps us strong. I'd rather die for my country than be saved by an abomination like you."

/// Taking him over now, so.....just going to move him. I expect he would have been making a lot of ruckus earlier. This is the only reason I can think of that he'd be so quiet in castle doom. : P ///
Larfleeze, unfortunately, didn't hear any of the conversation, or see the new arrival. More to the point, he wasn't even in the room. Mesmerized as well by the grandeur of the castle, the orange lantern took advantage of the group's....distraction. Snuck out of the room and down the halls long before the blue lantern had even started explaining what was going on.
He had found himself in a room that was filled with lots of bran new sparkly shinies. He didn't know what the room was, he didn't know what it was he was looking at, and he didn't care. It was shiny and new, and he didn't have one. "Mine, mine, mine, mine, mine." he mumbled to himself as he floated around the room.

((Saph... You're gonna make an epic Larfleeze. xD))
Elasa grunted, leaning forward slightly as Zeso's yell resounded in her mind. She frowned. He was alive? But... How could she reach him now? She needed to make sure this volatile lot did not kill each other. After all, that was one benefit of being a Blue Lantern: she had the ability to project her aura of calm onto others, even an entire group, and such an ability was invaluable to her at the moment, especially since Atrocitus was in the immediate vicinity. She didn't know what he'd do if his Red Rage was able to work itself up again...
Apex stopped as he saw Larfleeze inside of another room filled with what looked to him like valuables. Now, Apex had no idea who Larfleeze was, and like any good apprentice of Deathstroke, he decided to play the caution game, even as he detected his mentor heading for him.

"To destroy the single greatest threat to democracy, no civilian in this county should be more powerful than the law."
"It seems you've changed little since last I saw you..."
The voice would echo a couple of feet behind Apex, his master having appeared to Apex as stealthily as a ghost, his manner nonchalant with his hands, once more, clasped behind his back, his head tilted forward slightly as he looked upon his student, "Apex...my apprentice...it has been too long..."
Slade knew that his student must've sensed his approach, but this was the real test. Slade became the wraith he always could be, letting Apex think that he was still a ways a way, when he was in fact much closer and thus, he wanted to see how his student would react...
"That's what keeps the order. That's what keeps us strong. I'd rather die for my country than be saved by an abomination like you."

Eira watched as Elasa frowned. She wondered at the cause, but set her thoughts on finding the the source of Light. She bit her lip in thought. Perhaps Indigo-1 would know. "Perhaps we should consult the leaders of our corps..." she murmured aloud.

Apex, far from being happy at hearing his master's voice, or even feeling any particular emotion, raised a hand in Deathstroke's general direction to tell him to stop with the movement and sound..
"Shhh..." he said softly, staring at Larfleeze as the Orange Lantern floated around the room. "Don't startle him. It. Whatever. I want to see what it does..."
