Shiki nodded as well, but the moment Sandra turned away his expression fell a little. He never really had a chance to speak to his real parents. They were killed when he was seven. It was strange; he has three different homes, including three different lifestyles, yet in all three there was one thing in common...He never once had people he could truly call his 'parents'. Even his true mother and father were not really 'Mom' and 'Dad.' They died in a field in the dead of night, so it's impossible for him to talk to them now. And Sandra still has her parents, so he's assuming, and she's running away from them...

"So anything else you want to ask?" Sandra asked him as she started to walk again. She really hadn't mind him asking about her running away. There were few things that really got to her anymore.

"Do you still have both parents and a family?" Shiki asked.

Sandra shrugged. "I've never met my real parents and I don't know if I have any brothers or sisters. I was taken away from them and given to the shaman, who sort of became like my 'father' so I call him that, when my magic started to see itself when I was a baby. The same thing happened to my brother, well he's not really my brother, but not as early as mine did. So I guess the only family I have is my foster bother and the shaman."

"So you don't know anything about your real family?" Shiki asked.

"All i know is that they are a part of my tribe," Sandra replied with a slight sigh. It had been painful for her to know that one of the families she was helping with their crops was her own and they never gave any indication of it, but she was okay with it now. She had learned to accept that this was the way things were and she couldn't change anything about it.

Then she was most likely in contact with them and she wasn't even aware of it, "Good," Shiki said quietly. He was afraid something really bad had happened. (Gone to bed)

Sandra glanced back at him for a moment when he commented but didn't reply. She wasn't sure how good it was that her parents, whoever they were, hadn't fought harder to keep her or stay in contact with her. With a small sigh, she let it go. it wasn't really important anyway.

Shiki noticed Sandra was looking at him, "Your parents are still alive and, even though you don't know who they are, they are still in some way with you. I wish I had my parents, even if they wouldn't recognize me after so long."

Sandra just shrugged again. "I just wish I knew why they were so passive about giving me to the shaman," she said, loooking away from him. That was one of the main things she had wondered about, outside of that she didn't really care to learn anything about her real family.

"Maybe they thought that was for the best?" Shiki speculated.

Sandra almost let out a dry, hard laugh when Shiki said that. She had put a lot of thought into this. Of course it would have been for the best, her magic showed itself in drastic ways. She had probably done something bad and it would have been better for them to have nothing to do with her so when they gave her to the shaman, like custom dictated, they stayed away because they didn't want something else to happen to them.

Shiki looked a little hurt when she laughed like that. He figured he reminded her of something she wanted to forget, "I'm sorry," He said.

"It's okay, Shiki," Sandra said, feeling bad for letting that slip. She looked at him and gave him a small smile to show that she wasn't upset or anything. "I accepted this a long time ago. I'm okay now."

"'Accepted'...?" For a split second, Shiki looked angry. But he had managed to hide his feelings on that issue relatively quickly, "I suppose so. If it happened when you were too small to remember, then there really isn't anything you can do about it," He said, "What else is there to do but accept it and move on?"
