Bain scanned the room. It was full of many warriors, all swordmasters. The academy had produced almost every legendary swordmaster to grace the history of Airapheer. Bain was probably the least experienced in the room. He looked around and saw many warriors carrying very valuable swords. Amongst all the students in the academy, there was even one who was not a man.
A figure stood uncomfortably on the side of the room, separated from the rest. He has azure hair that was laid quite comfortably on his head, but his face merely darkness. In the abyss of his facade there were only two big glowing dots that lightly inspected the room. A creature of shadows in the form of a man; this could only be what he had grown to know as the Meta.
The Meta was definitely a male. He wore regal blue clothing with gold outlines hemmed on it. He wore no shoes, but instead had red and white striped socks. He wore stripes gloves as well, and a scarf covering his neck. The only part of his body that was visible was the emptiness of his face. On top of his vest he wore an armoured chest plate. It had golden edges and the rest was silver. It looked very old, but anything but fragile.
He looked growingly uncomfortable as more people glanced at him. Finally a man approached him, looking at him suspiciously.
“You! Meta!”
He looked as if he was ignoring the man, but suddenly Bain heard voices emanating through his head.
“It’s Fish, not Meta.”
There was no movement from his mouth, it seemed like he didn’t even have a mouth. His words seemed to float into people’s heads.
“Whatever, Meta Fish, whoever you are. I don’t like the looks of you, so you better watch where you step in this school.”
His eyes slowly slid across his onyx face and stared at the man.
“I believe I have as much right to be here as you do. Don’t start this.”
The man drew a giant sword from his back and got into a battle stance.
“Why don’t we test that theory? Draw!”
Fish lifted his glove hand up to his hair and ruffled his hair while covering his eyes.
“Fine, if that’s what you want…”
He reached from behind him and pulled out a sword as if from nowhere. It was a long white blade with small wings pointing out from the hilt. The blade seemed as if it wasn’t sharp at all, it looked more like a staff than a sword. He stood straight with the sword at his side and gave a helpless look to the man.
“You really don’t want to do this.”
Without a word the man charged at Fish with his sword up in the air and jumped up to slam it down on him. Fish stepped back on one leg and held a flat hand up to his target. In a small instance he brought his hand down and swung his blade into the air, quite a distance from his target. A white wave of light erupted from the space in front of him and struck the man clean in the chest, blowing him backward into a wall.
The man struck the back of the room and collapsed on the floor, grabbing at his chest and yelling out in pain. Everyone looked at Fish in utter fear and slowly started to back away. Bain stood his ground and stared Fish down, trying to comprehend what he just did.
Fish sighed and his weapon disappeared behind his back again. He looked over to Bain and saw that he hadn’t moved. His chest plate started to glow for a second and then stopped. He felt Fish’s eyes probing into him and for a second swore that he had a smile on his face. Suddenly words echoed in his head.
“You must be Mr. Chartreuse!”

(lulz I'm a girl xd )
A character who starts off as a slacker in whatever he does for a living. As in something that requires physical labor. Then, a mythical or magical being comes and visits, and says that there is an "important job to be done." That is where the story starts. Could be the hero.
EDIT: This was for Cattra. Next person: Do the person above me also.
