"I suppose that all you had to do was ask." Shinzou said as he drew his Zanpakutou. He took a two hand grip on the katana and wide stance as he looked over at his Captain. He didn't want to attack his Captain, but he had asked him to do so. Shinzou knew he was terribly over matched here, but supposed that the Captain had some reason for doing this other than just kicking his a**. He took a deep breath and then charged at his Captain, sending a horizontal slashing strike at his midsection, keeping a careful eye on the Shinigami's sword as he went.

Wasn't the act of drawing my blade, invitation enough for you? Guess all this time I mistakenly took you for an avid swordsman. Mock said in response to Shinzou's remark.

Shinzou's attack was so plain, that despite Mock being able to easily dodge it, not to parry it with his own sword would be rude. A mere flick of the wrist allowed the Captain to turn the cutting edge of his katana outwards, meeting his opponent's blade and blocking it. MockaDash followed through by thrusting his left arm at Shinzou, trying to hit him in the head with the thick saya being held on that hand. You can't possibly hope to last long, fighting like this. Put your soul into it. You know what ancient samurai swords and our owns have in common? he asked. And, do you also know the difference between pride and conceit?

Shinzou didn't say anything at all to this, it was a habit of his not to talk during battle. It was true though, his attack was mundane and ordinary. Yet he had never claimed to be a master swordsmen, he had never claimed to be anything, so all this confused him. He did however, easily see Mock's counter coming thanks to his sixth sense and jerked his head back out of the way. He supposed it was time to try something more exotic. As he dodged backwards he did a back handspring and landed, immediately launching into his next attack. He lunged and put his shoulders on a vertical plain, spinning so that his Zanpakutou would come down at the Captain with maximum force. It would probably be fairly easy to block, but it was better than abusing to useless Kidou that he did know, at least, useless against someone like Mock.

Hishida heard Mock call him over to group of shinigami and did as he said. As the shinigami took his time walking over to the group, a slight smirk developed across his face. It had been awhile since he had last trained, and something about the activity calmed him. He wasn't quite sure what it does to calm him, but he liked it. Once he reached the group, he noticed Mock and Shinzou beginning a spar, and gladly watched and studied the two fighting styles. He then looked around him and noticed a separate spar. This was a good opportunity to learn something about each squad members fighting style. Especially his captains, which definitely intrigued him. And so, Hishida stood their watching each battle, and decisively noted different movements that interested him.

Alder recognized a familiar concealing technique, well played by this Amatsu character. He aimed his rapier down, and took the hilt to the chin, preferring that over contact with metal. Amatsu's blade hit Alder's, grinding loudly as steel met steel. Alder, having regained his focus, rose up his heel, and attempted to immobilize Amatsu's Zanpakuto by slamming it into the ground with his heel. This was a very convincing move. However, while in mid fall, Alder halted his foot, and instead aimed another strong kick at Amatsu's lowered face. "Inexperience is something that one may see....but never can you fully predict it." Alder said, his tone more serious that it had been before.

(OH, and before I forget. Life's added a lot of crap to my plate, so I won't be online very much. I'll probably get one or two posts in per day, but I can't guarantee much more than that.)

[That's fine ^_^ I'm ending the fight. If you haven't noticed, i'm a critical strike fighter, and I don't like long fights.]

...As everything happened around him, Amatsu just let out a sigh. It wasn't in his to continue this none aggressive fight. No bladed edges, no bone breaking. It just wasn't for him. Suddenly as his eyes became shut behind his fringe he felt a strike to the side of his face. It was enough to send the unexpected Amatsu flying to the side. Skipping, and sliding across the ground he finally came to a stop on his back. His eyes were open, and he just stared at the sky. His face was clear from his hair due to he was lying on his back. Raising his hand he waved at Alder. "You win... Bravo sir..." He said before plopping his hand down over his chest. Amatsu continued to lay there staring at the sky. It was evening. A orangy yellow filled the Western sky, while the Eastern was full of purples, and dark blues. Amatsu let a smile leak from behind his lazy mask. He loved the middle catalyst of colors. Purple, orange, sky blue, a few spots of red at the right moments. Amatsu wondered who would be the first person to speak to him while he lied here...

Alder grinned a bit. He was dumbfounded by the sheer oddness of this man; who would lecture him about being too aggressive, and then just give up. "You perplex em enormously." Alder said, not managing to stifle a chuckle as he sat down on the ground. His hair blew around in the wind again, but this time, it was more even, emphasizing the end of the fight, and setting him into a calm mood. "If only there were more odd people in this world...." He said, rather distantly, as if he was deep in thought.

Yuki looked around after Mock told her to get to know Hishida. Noticing only one person not fighting she got up and walked over to the man she guessed must be Hishida. As she walked she saw that Captain Mock was in another battle but his opponent seemed to be pulling his blows. Which she thought was odd, fighting someone like Mock you should hit to kill. When she got over to the man he was watching the battles, "hello Hishida-san, my name is Yuki. The Captain asked me to get acquainted with you and as this is a training area I can think of only one way to do that. Would you mind sparring with me?"

(( I apologize in advance for the small autohit I'm about to inflict on you. Since this qualifies as a training and I'm a superior officer, I'm allowed to do that, though I dislike doing it anyway. The reason why I'm doing this is because I want to speed things up and start yours and Amatsu's shikai training on this thread, right now.))

As Shinzou came at him, spinning his Zanpakutou, Mock brandished his own at it. Channeling reiryoku into his arm and ultimately the blade, he allowed the energy to be released by the swinging movement of his sword. Though rather effortless for the Captain, it was more than enough to both block Shinzou's attack, as well as throwing him and his sword into the air.

Sheathing his katana, Mock said to Shinzou. For Samurais, their katanas were viewed as being extensions of their own souls. They were so important to them, that many even received names. That's what their swords and our Zanpakutous have in common. By naming something, you're acknowledging that it has an identity. Our Zanpakutous are a part of us. They are a manifestation of our soul. Mock reached for his kiseru and began preparing it while he spoke, by placing in the pipe some tobacco leaves that he kept in a small pouch, stored inside his kimono.I was merely talking with your soul, Shino-kun.

What do you think you're doing here? This is a training ground. Not a playground. You can interpret it from any angle you may desire. But ultimately, we're warriors. We live each day with the burden of the lives we've ended. It's hypocritical to call oneself a warrior without admitting to the blood on our hands. Our blades are the perfect euphemism for our nature. Think of them as tools for defense even, but bottom line, they are tools for cutting. They are tools meant to end lives.
A trail of ash came flying from the tip of Mock's scabbard, and landing on top of the tobacco, it lit the pipe, after igniting itself. Mock took a couple of short puffs of smoke, before continuing with his speech.

Don't step into a training ground, unwilling to spar. Don't charge at me without resolve behind your strikes. That was what I meant to test. - Your resolve. It took me less time than what I would ever imagine, to do that. I'm actually disappointed to find it so lacking. Especially in someone like you. Turning away from Shinzou, and slowly walking to where he once was, the Captain said As you are now, you're not worthy of fighting against my blade, my soul, my resolve.

Come talk to me again, once you're ready to answer my other question. What's the difference between pride and conceit.

(( @ Amatsu and Shizou: I'm thinking of doing your shikai training right here and now, on this thread. Are you up for it?

[Hate to post simply a OoC, but i'm a little confused on what my next post should be. Should I approach you upon what you said to Shinzou? Or Shikai Training?]

(I'm good with it.)

"I'm the one who should be questioning your resolve. Starting a fight and walking away before it's even started." Shinzou said as he dashed forward and rolled past Mock, his Zanpakutou gripped in reverse and pointing up towards the Captain's throat as he righted himself. "As for the difference between Pride and Conceit. Pride comes from honor and confidence, but only the exact right amount. Fighting someone who truly takes pride in their abilities is something that every warrior looks forward to and something they take pride in doing themselves. Conceit comes from arrogance and over confidence. It spreads like cancer and consumes it's victims. Conceit gets people killed in the end. It's fuel is dishonor, of ones brethren, ones weapons, and one's integrity. When you carry yourself with pride you can overcome anything, though through conceit you are destined to fail." Shinzou said before thrusting his Zanpakutou towards the Captain's throat. As his sword moved closer, he began to read the Captain out of the corner of his eye, looking him over for any hint of what might happen next even before his extra sense kicked in. He would need every detail if he was going to fight his Captain.

(( Just talk to me Amatsu. It would probably be better to let me end this little RP with Shinzou. ))

Mock didn't moved. He let Shizou's blade reach for his throat, only to have the Zanpakutou being broken in shards as it went against the Captain's skin. MockaDash had coated his body with a layer of reiatsu, strong enough to break the other Shinigami's blade. In response to this, the Captain simply smoked some more.

What's the honor in attacking an unarmed opponent? What's the honor in attacking someone who does not wish to fight? You've been conceited. And recklessly allowed your Zanpakutou to pay the price, for you. That is also cowardice. No wonder it doesn't want you to know its name. Not budging from where he stood, MockaDash stopped what he was saying to inhale some more tobacco smoke, and exhaled it as he spoke. We're are not barbarians here, boy. If you insist on acting like one, then there is no place for you here. He bluntly said.

With a sigh, the Captain continued. Though I did start what you might call a fight, you were the one who ended it, not me. Your following actions were simply shameful, at my eyes. But like I've said, boy, don't minimize my intentions and actions. I did not pick a fight. Like I've told you, I wanted to measure you, and I did. There was no point in continuing...

Mock detoured around Shinzou, and leisurely continued to walk towards his initial destination. Without turning back, he said. You seem to know the difference between pride and conceit. So why do you insist on choosing the later? Leaving a trail of smoke as he walked, he once again ignored his subordinate, and left him to deal with what was now the shattered remains of his Zanpakutou.

(( In order to "regenerate" your sword, you'll have to learn your zanpakutou's name Shinzou. Just like Ichigo.))

...Amatsu continued to stare up at the sky as though the words that were being spoke around him didn't exist, but in all actuality he heard every word. Everything that was said, ever emotion, every shatter of metal was heard and taken in with extreme acuteness. The words Mock spoke were as always wise and understanding, but at the same time harsh and almost to the point of annoying as he spoke to people as though they were children. Amatsu let out a sigh, he shifted a little before planting his hand firmly on the ground beside him. Rolling over he placed both feet just enough on the ground to rise up. Sliding his fingers to the side of his head with his hair falling behind his left ear. A rare thing to happen since Amatsu usually didn't bother to worry about his hair. With his sheathed blade still out of his sash Amatsu placed it on his left shoulder limply. He began to walk toward Mock with a emotionless look upon his face. "What reason was there behind shattering the one thing that separated him from every other soul beyond theses walls? What reason was there to contradict his morals, or honor? Honor is a broad horizon, it can't be centered to one single belief." Amatsu spoke as though he knew Shinzou, but he didn't. This was one thing Amatsu had a bad habit of doing. Standing before others that looked down upon another. Something that should have killed him by now...

...Amatsu cocked his head to the side as he waited for Mock's answer. Keeping the unfaltering look upon his face his position never changed. Amatsu wondered if Mock would draw his sword for the words Amatsu spoke. Mock was on to demand respect, but those words were some that would condemn disdain on his own honor in the presents of so many of his subordinates. A smirk formed over Amatsu's pale cherry lips. He thought of what he had said too late to take them back, but his true thoughts needed to be shown...
PostPosted: Tue Jun 30, 2009 9:46 pm

(( Congratulations on accurately describing Mock's persona Matt. xp Three years ago, a series of events completely changed Mock's demeanor. He's now kept to himself, and blunt when talking to someone, unlike the once easygoing Mock. ))

MockaDash halted his movement, and slowly turned around to face Amatsu. On his face, there was a wide grin. Simple belief? What simple belief? I never said it to be simple. And I do not understand why you accuse me of shattering Shinzou's blade. Had he thrust it into a wall and it broken the same way, would you accuse the wall of breaking it? Or the one who mindlessly thrust it against the wall in the first place?

I did nothing. I don't remember ever contradicting Shinzou's morals, rather he contradict them himself. He was the one who allowed such tragedy to befall on his blade.
Taking a moment to smoke from his pipe, the Captain was reading the reiatsu aura emanating from Amatsu. By doing this, he was able to somewhat read his feelings. Not that he needed to, since they were well imprinted even on the Shinigami's face. You believe I'm disrespecting Shinzou? I'm not. You believe I'm looking down upon him? I am. But not because I believe he's unable to reach higher standards. I'm doing it merely because I know he can, but he's choosing not to.

A man takes action, while a boy keeps expecting others to tell him what to do. Shinzou knows what he should do, but he keeps expecting others to tell him anyway. I can point the way, but you have to walk the path. And you're always free to divert from it. For every action there is a reaction. Men are expected to deal with the consequences of their actions. I'm waiting for Shizou to deal with his.
He said, referring to the fact that the Shinigami's blade had been shattered.

Pride, honor, respect. Conceit, disgrace, disdain. I don't trouble myself wondering about the way others view me. What's the point to life, if you only act in regard to what others might think? Rather, I act according to my beliefs, and accept the consequences of such beliefs, if they turn out to be astray. Nevertheless, I would never ask of anyone to follow me, if he/she does not have complete faith in me. Respect and obedience are completely apart. I do not seek obedience, for it can come from many things - fear, retaliation, faith. I seek respect, but I do not enforce it upon others. If I did, it wouldn't be respect now, would it?

And so, the question arises. Do you respect me, Amatsu?

...As Mock spoke, Amatsu filtered out what was unneeded, and what he must hear to respond. Amatsu was serious upon his words, but his true goal was apparent to the very end of Mock's ever so famous speeches. They never seemed to falter in opposing what others opinions may be. Mock was truly a master debater, one to rival the most vile, childish, p***k. Or a man to oppose a honorless lawyer that had nothing better to do than look down upon the weak. Mock was turning out to be more than Amatsu's calm composer could handle, but for the sake of what he wanted out of this Amatsu had to keep it, if just for a little longer. "I don't respect someone who doesn't respect me, so I believe you have to answer to that question." Amatsu placed just as bluntly as Mock had started. "And to add for a side note, I will respect someone that can best me in battle. I respect Alder now..." He said with a nod in Alders direction. Of course Amatsu had thrown the battle for the sake of how boring it was, he did respect Alder in that of a friend. Mock had been too much of a authority figure for Amatsu to call him a friend just yet. What Amatsu was experiencing was as simple as being transferred to a new unit in the army. He had to test the Captain before he respected him...

...Shifting his position, Amatsu continued to stare at Mock, though his hair fell back across the left side of his face. "So, what will you reaction be? More meaningless debating, or something more?" Amatsu said in a playful manner. Even though Amatsu knew as plain as day that Mock was stronger, there was no need to be coy to the fact Amatsu didn't respect him yet. That before was just meaningless pleasantries that were over now...

[ xp That was funny. I lost my thoughts half way through that post... so half of it might not make sense... don't feel like reading over it... Had a slightly long day -_-]
