Miyu looked up at Aragost curiously and listening carefully, she wondered why he called Pen Estel. Maybe it was a nickname like Yami-san, she wondered if Pen would like that name better.
"That sounds sad.... but he has Lothiriel so it's a bit better?"
Tao could not say no to a request like that and she lowered herself to let Adonijah onto her back. After all she carried many others before, and she loved to carry little ones it made her feel important.

Lin nodded at this, it should be interesting how the two would end up talking to each other, "Well, they should be here for a while... Lothiriel went to visit Ulani and Ulrich... and Aliya and her family too. I've met Lothiriel once, but that has to have been a very long time ago here, because she went to visit the Southland with her Daddy that time."
She was also sure that Lothiriel would love to talk to Elros.

Aragost smiled and nodded. "Yes ... he is much better now that he is traveling with Lothiriel. She is good for him ... in many ways. She may yet be able to help fully, I believe."
Time would tell, since at the moment even he could not - or would not.
Adonijah clicked his thanks to Tao and climbed carefully up onto her back, laying against her neck and rubbing her feathers lovingly.
"I guess I'm ready," he preed at her, though he didn't really want to go forward. She just wasn't giving him a choice.
Elros nodded. "Then perhaps this afternoon, after we are done with your language lessons - which I assume you're here for - I will seek her out and get to know her a bit. I do want to meet as much of the Aldrich family as I can."

Miyu thought about it and nodded, "I hope so."
Though she couldn't help but wonder what was it that Estel-kun needed (as she thought to herself in her head). Maybe he needed hugs....
Happy that Adonijah was willing to give them a try, she pranced forward until she was between the two mers. She turned to Ryu and started to look through his hair, she liked looking through their hair... sometimes.. though rarely a waterbug might find itself trap there.
"Hey Tao..." Ryu murmured petting the griffin.

"Well.. .that too," Lin giggled, "But it wouldn't be a visit without talking to you and just spending time."
She was use to it, she had been spending time with Elros even before he began teaching her as well. Lin was simply use to spending time with other people. So if she learned something it was all good too.

As Tao drew nearer to Feng and Ryu, Adonijah edged further towards the back end of the griffin so that he could still be as far away from them as possible. He was sitting by then on Tao's rump, right above her tail, despite the fact that it was rather uncomfortable there, fists closed tightly on her feathers so that he wouldn't fall off backwards.
Elros smiled. "I'm honoured," he chuckled softly. "Though it's true that you do seem to just like spending time with anyone who will let you. Gwaethir's been mentioning you off and on ... I understand you actually managed to hunt with him. Quite an accomplishment."

Tao looked over her shoulder to notice the little one looked like he was going to fall off of her. Besides he shouldn't be sitting so far back, she had plenty of room up front. She tittered questioningly behind her, wondering what the silly little boy was doing.
"Are you going to be okay Adonijah?" Feng asked.

"The hardest part was catching up with him," Lin replied honestly, "He's very, very fast."
She still didn't know how he managed to go that fast, and while she practiced enough where she would be less winded, she never seemed to manage to gain that much speed. Something gave Lin the feeling she was going to have to find another method to catch up with someone or anything that fast.

Adonijah's chest started heaving again, his nostrils flaring as he stared, wide-eyed, at the twins. His fingers started twitching slightly as their attention was directed towards him, and he slowly, ever so slowly, began inching backwards again, fully intending on jumping off the griffin and making a break for it.
Elros chuckled. "Indeed," he murmured. "I know of only one person faster than he ... he has spent so much time hunting animals that one must wonder at times if he has taken on some of their traits. Still, I daresay that keeping up with him was not the hardest part - but the hardest part, though you might not have known it, was him allowing you to go with him."
He paused.
"He is a very solitary man ... he makes Lord Aragost look as social as you yourself are," he stated flatly, folding his hands together on the tabletop. "And he strongly dislikes anyone near him when he hunts."
He looked at Lin thoughtfully.
"He must see something special about you," he murmured softly.

If Tao understood the situtation, she might have rolled her eyes, but she didn't. She really didn't understand what Adonijah's problem was, only that he seemed to want to get off her. So she did what seemed logical to try and socialize her little hatchling, she turned around so he could get off close to the two she wanted him to socialize with.

Now that confused Lin, because she had no trouble following him on his hunts. Certainly he would tell her to try and be more quiet, which she was still working on, but it had never occured to her that he would have normally told her to go home.
"Doesn't he get lonely?"

Elros coughed. "I don't think he knows what lonely means," he replied softly. "He ... hates being around people ... not that he hates people, but he prefers to be alone ... I don't even know why he took a job here, to tell the truth ..."
He tapped his fingers on the table, looking at Lin thoughtfully. "Now I'm curious to know what he thinks of you."
Adonijah's eyes grew even wider as Tao turned and moved him closer to Feng and Ryu, and he squealed and tried to wiggle forward on Tao's back again - but he was too far back already, and when Tao stopped moving, his fingers slipped and he fell backward. He screamed as he fell to the ground, landing on his back, though it didn't hurt at all, he was just scared.
He stared up at Feng and Ryu, his violet eyes wide with fear, and his fists slowly clenched against his body and his knees curled up against him as he froze, terrified of being put so close to them.

"Oh!" Feng hurried forward to pick up the poor terrified boy, "Are you okay?"
She brushed her hand across his head, to check for bruises, that was her biggest worry really. That he had hit his head hard or something like that.
"Adonijah?"

"Good luck with that," Lin told Elros with a wrly smile, "I have an easier time figuring out what Aragost is thinking."
Honestly at times she didn't know what went through Gwaethir's head, she knew less about Gwaethir than she knew about Aragost, but then again she didn't have to be so careful about her questions. She only knew, he was someone who liked to save words, and liked people to save words too.

Adonijah closed his eyes tightly to block out the vision of being so close to Feng. It always helped not to look, things were never as scary then ... but it also made him subjective to illusions. For example ... the illusion of her voice, sounding so much like his Mama's at the moment ... kind and warm and full of worry ... and her fingers brushing against his cheek ... so much like Mama's hands ...
And without even realizing it, he felt himself relaxing slightly in the caring arms of the person holding him.
Elros smiled and nodded. "Yes ... Lord Aragost is indeed far easier to understand at times than Gwaethir," he agreed. "But that just means that you have to try harder. I honestly believe that you would have the best of luck of anyone in getting answers out of him, of finding out things about him ... save of course Lord Aragost, and perhaps this Lothiriel that you tell me about."
