Akiko scrambled up the trunk blindly, ignoring the pain and the difficulty. Her only concern was getting up to the safety of the tree boughs. She grasped the bark tightly and scraped the palms of her hands against its rough surface. She reached out toward the nearest limb but just barely missed it. After ascending a few more inches, she attempted it again and caught the branch. Next, she swung her leg up, finding some tenuous purchase where the limb splits. Once she got her weight up over the branch, she sat herself up, bracing herself with her back against the trunk. She looked down upon the battlefield, and not that much had changed. She quickly got to work, withdrawing a shuriken from the folds of her robes. She spotted her target--the frog from before. This time, she kept her eyes toward the horizon, only noting the target's location peripherally. Then, with a flick of the wrist, she shot the shuriken toward the foul beast.

4-9 (4) + Throwing (4) + Strength (0) = 8 damage)

Just wanted to help you out with generating damage, as it can be confusing!

-First, figure out the base damage range. You were right with 4-9 for a Shuriken.
-Next, you add your Strength Mod to each of these numbers.
-Finally, you add your Throwing bonus to the larger number in the range only. To figure out your throwing bonus, divide your Throwing skill by ten, and round down. In Akiko's case, her Throwing bonus is zero.

This time around, the total damage is 4! ^^

The frog that had ended up behind Sukotto after the Uchiha's taijutsu barrage had been starring at the monkey-like creature that was climbing around in the tree. However, it soon realized that the Uchiha's back was turned and decided to take advantage of that fact. However, before it was able to launch its attack, it heard a faint ringing in the air. The creature wasn't exactly sure what was happening, but it felt a very strong urge to leap away, so it tensed its legs and attempted a powerful leap away from its position and towards the Uchiha.

The battle had taken an interesting pace indeed! The frogs, who once outnumbered the shinobi of Shimagakure, had thinned to match the numbers of the ninja. Most animals would have retreated after losing two members of their group, but the infection had eaten away much of the creatures' natural instincts. The frog that had been grazed by Akiko's shuriken turned on the girl, and with Sukotto now out of the way, it managed to leap its way up the tree towards the girl, aiming to headbutt her against the tree's trunk. The frog that had been merely observing the fight from a distance was enraged to see some of its comrades fall, and instead of charging towards Sukotto, it turned its attention towards Nadeshiko, who was a bit far off, but close enough for a quick attack.

Xyn's bunshins hadn't managed to confuse the frog that he had attacked, so it merely selected one of the identical Douken beings and charged. If it was lucky, it would strike the correct one, if not, it would fly straight through the clone, and land on the ground confused, but triumphant, as that would destroy the bunshin. Since Muunin's target had successfully evaded the bird's attack, it leaped a mighty leap and shot out its long tongue aiming to wrap the slimy appendage around the bird, hopefully dragging it to the ground for a feast. The frog who had lost an eye to Seiko merely stared at the Jio, puss continuing to leak out of the vacant eye socket. The other that the Chuunin had damaged continued its assault in spite of its serious injury.

((Wtf?!? crying ))

Good. The moment the frog in front of him made a leap toward his clone, Xyn immediately shifted all his attention to Munin. It had gone exactly as he had planned, but now he had to do something about the frog attacking the outmatched bird. There was no time to pull Munin away from the attack, his only option was to try and get between the two of them. With each step, he realized more and more than he wouldn't make it in time. With his options failing by the second, Xyn made a last desperate effort to stop the attack. He lifted his arm, but it was already too late.

How did he miss? The sly bird was seriously beginning to get the creeps from these things. They definitely weren't normal frogs. To avoid an attack from above in such a way... what? Munin attempted to flap his wings to get out of the creature's reach, seeing its tongue sticking upward at him. Incredibly long... Munin simply wasn't fast enough to avoid such a thing. Just as he attempted to make a dive rather than soar up, the frog had grabbed his wing, forcing him to the ground at a much faster rate than he had intended.

In the end, his efforts all failed. He had managed to divert the attack of the frog that came after him, but he simply wasn't fast enough to get to Munin in time. He was caught.. but now the creature couldn't run away. He'd kill the frog now and prevent it from causing Munin anymore harm. His left hand reaching for the pouch once again, his right arm shifted in front of his face as he charged in, two shuriken shooting out from under his guard while he kept the kunai in hand for a follow-up attack. From how strong the frog's grip seemed to be on the raven, Xyn didn't have time to hesitate, plus there was that disease to worry about. If that vaccine didn't work...

What? Why? This thing, how could it be this strong? Munin tried to move his wing, but it was hopeless. He felt as if his hollow bones were already being crushed. All his attempts to move were reduced to a slow crawl. Resisting this way was doing no good. He was taken down so easily, how could such a lowly creature defeat a proud raven? The time to consider such a disgrace grew short. If he was no match for this thing physically, then he'd have to outsmart it. Gathering all his strength, Munin defiantly glared at the frog.

"AAAWWWWWKKK!" He screamed at the top of his lungs. Hoping the sudden shock would cause the frog to let go.

Well, it did seem the frog was hit, but somehow that didn't slow it down. In fact, it seemed to only provoke it! As the frog turned on her, it jumped high in the air... was it supposed to do that? No... frogs aren't supposed to jump that high! They could probably hop as high as a full-grown man is tall, but there was no way it could reach her so high up in the tree. That's what she thought, anyway, until she saw it coming straight at her. Was it the disease that made it supernaturally springy? No... diseases are supposed to ruin a body's system. How, then, was it reaching her?

She panicked. She put her fingers together in the seal of the ram--it was almost instinct to her by now. Then, she summoned her chakra up around her and performed the jutsu she had learned from the Academy. With any luck, she would be able to get away in time.

CP: 21 - 5 = 16

1d20 (14) + Dodge (1) + Agility (5) Chakra (5) = 25
DC: 20

Body Replacement Technique [Kawamiri no Jutsu]
This jutsu lets the user quickly switch places with another nearby object, such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach, leaving the opponent open to a counter-attack. Explosive tags can be attached to the replacement for an added surprise. Fundamentally, all ninja know this technique. If the technique is successful you can use sneak attack to attack your target.
CP Cost: 5
Damage: N/A
Requirement: Must be taught.
Seals: Ram
Avoid: Dodge or Ninjutsu roll.
Special: + Chakra Mod to Dodge, Sets up for Sneak attack if dodge is successful.
Roll: 1d20 + Dodge + Chakra Mod

Akiko looked up. She had performed the jutsu in a hurry, so she wasn't exactly paying attention to where she was going to end up. Unfortunately, it seemed that she had transported herself right in the middle of the battlefield. This wasn't good... there were frogs on most sides, too many avenues of approach, and not the least bit of cover or concealment from where she was standing. She swallowed hard. If she wanted to get out of the danger zone, she'd have to take out at least one of the frogs and continue past it. She glanced back at the frog she had assaulted before. It had sailed clear over the branch and was now facing the other way. The position couldn't be better. She began charging at it recklessly, unleashing a single shuriken toward her enemy. She only had three left... she had to make them count.

(( Sorry about the delay on my part, next week is finals week v.v;; ))

Thankfully, Akiko had taken Sukotto's advice and attacked the frog that had its gaze set on the Uchiha. He knew that he would have been able to dodge the frog fairly easily, but if it had been a stronger opponent, Akiko could have saved the Uchiha's life with that kind of reaction. It seemed as though the girl was getting her wits about herself, because the frog that she had attacked had decided to target her instead of Sukotto, but she managed to dodge the attack with the use of the Body Replacement Technique. The academy level jutsu was one of the Uchiha's favorites, so he was glad to see Akiko execute it so well. After having managed to use the jutsu, the Tenmoki had placed herself in an unfavorable spot on the battlefield, but most of the enemies were distracted anyway. She actually ended up flanking the frog that had attacked her with another attack of her own, and Sukotto could tell it would be difficult for the frog to dodge it. It seemed as though the girl was finally surpassing the Uchiha's expectations.

The frogs had seemed to have given up on attacking Sukotto for the moment, and he considered assisting Akiko with an attack on the frog she was fighting, but decided against it. He felt as though she needed to learn to finish a fight, and a true battle was the very best way to teach her that. She was really impressing him with her grasp of battle already, and he began to wonder if the girl had ran to the tree in order to gain some sort of tactical advantage rather than in order to leave the fight like Sukotto had previously assumed. Instead of launching any sort of attack of his own, the Uchiha decided to continue his training session. It would be interesting to attempt to focus ones chakra with so much going on, so he figured that it would be a good test of his ability with concentrating on his chakra.

Chakra and Focus Training - Concentrated Chakra Burn
Since he had an easy time with the training involved in his most recent chakra-based exercise, Sukotto has decided to take it up a notch by trying out a more concentrated form of chakra training.

Nadeshiko had stopped for a moment to attempt to understand the behaviour of the frogs. It seemed for the moment that they would leave her alone without further aggravation. However, after a number of them went and exploded into lovely little puddles of slime and poison, it appeared that they needed no further harassment to take violent action. Of the remaining frogs, some were dripping liquid from lost or broken body parts. It was...quite a sight. But, as Sukotto had said, and these frogs now proved, they were definitely beyond saving. They were also definitely beyond reason, if frogs had any in the first place. As yet another frog turned to attack her, Nadeshiko, instead of trying to avoid the attack, which she highly doubted she could do, took out a shuriken and threw it at the frog, hoping to be able either to fatally injure it and prevent it from moving any closer or to slow it down enough for her to attack again.
