Jessica followed him and stared at the statue from a few feet away. " Alex......." She said, "Be careful....I have a strange feeling about that statue...." She told him.

Sara rolled her eyes. 'Another statue. What the hell is it with these tomb builders and statues?' "Jess is right, Alex. We have yet to come across a statue in this cave of torture that hasn't been a trap of some sort. I wonder what will happen this time. We've had living statues, zombies, zombies with toxic breath....."

Baylor looked at the statue. "I haven't seen this much life-like architecture since the Terra-Cotta Warriors..." He then walked over to it, holding his hand on it. He drew back in shock. "Guys, this statue is giving off heat! Not that much heat, but it definatly is giving it off." Baylor got a cold chill up his back, and readied his wand, just in case.

Robin was snarling at the statue, Serrenedy was holding it back "We can turn back right? Rock power gets rid of the barier and we'll be fine...right?"

Sara looked at the snarling raptor in Serrenedy's arms. "Well, I might be able to clear a path threw the collapsed rock, but I'm not sure it'll be any safer that way than this way. And Alex seems to think that we're almost out. If it makes you feel any better, take Robin to the back of the cave while we open the door. If we need Demona, we'll let you know, alright?" She put her hand on the other girl's shoulder.

Alex backed up as he actually saw the statue beginning to move by itself. "Hmm, I see you were right. Unfortunately, our passage is blocked." He noticed as a large barrier of fire seperated them from leaving. He noticed that the creature had summoned a staff, and was looking towards them in an effort to guard whatever was beyond the door.

"R-Robin...er stay, um he-heal er. Sarah can you take her for about twelve seconds?" Serrenedy moved forward-praying to herself that this would work "Um...mister statue-thing is, we've come a long way, were VERRY tired, and our secret weppons are gonna clockout any moment now...could you pretty please with candycanes on top let us through?" Afterward she gave a sweet if now frightiened smile 'This is what I get for to much PPG' she thought to herself

Sara screwed up her face in confusion, but went and took Robin anyway. It took all her control not to laugh out loud when Serrenedy asked the statue to let them pass. It was a nice idea, but she had a good idea that it wouldn't work at all. "Oh dear. Serrenedy, you are almost too innocent for your own good, you know that."

As the statue summoned it's staff, the staff itself was coated with fire as it spewed out a strong stream of fire at the group. Alex thought quick, and made a quick flash-fire to counter it, taking most of the damage of tha attack. The recoil sent him flying back onto the dirt of the ancient floor.

Baylor thought fast and pointed his wand behind Alex, casting a spell that would create a soft barrier between him and the wall to keep him from slamming into the wall and seriously injuring him. He then pointed his wand at the statue monster and said, "Exarmantio!" The statue was disarmed from his staff as it flew into the wall behind him, stabbing into the stone.

Sara gasped as Alex was sent flying across the room. Thankfully, Baylor was able to protect him from too hard an impact. 'Damn it all! If only there was more loose dirt around here, I might be able to smother him. As it is, I might be able to knock him out with a boulder, but....' She hated to admit it, even to herself, but she was getting tired.
To her mild relief, Baylor disarmed the monster, but she was sure that wasn't the end of the fight. As long as the thing was still 'living', then it was still dangerous.

As Alex slowly got to his feet, he tried to think of a way to fight back against this monster. Unfortunately, a glyph was appearing over it's head. Looking over at it, it seemed to be generating a lot of fire. Thinking quick, he summoned a fire shield over his comrades, forcing himself to take the entirety of the blast himself.

"Dang!" Baylor said, feeling slightly useless as Alex was being beaten to a pulp. He pointed his staff at the monster. "Rastel Maskil Negima, Jovis tempuras fulguris!" A blast of wind shot at the flaming creature through the flaming shield Alex had cast around them. Crap! I'm exhausted! I copuldn't use that spell at full force! Still, it sould at least stun that monstrosity... if it hits!

Sara didn't know who to be more concerned for; Alex, taking the full brunt of this attack on himself, or Baylor, who looked completely exhausted. He would need a long rest after they got through here. And she hoped it was soon. She could feel that the night was almost over and the sun would soon be rising over the desert. But what could she possibly do to help?

After trying to get up, Alex was panting as if his heart was about to fall out of his throat. A the same time, the guardian had retrieved it's staff and was about to deal the finishing blow. 'so this is how it ends, Goliath?' he asked himself in his mind. Closing his eyes, he suddenly felt a surge of strength. "No, it's not!" He said, his voice seemingly mixed with another voice. Catching the staff in one of his hands, his eyes were glowing red, his appearance leaning more towards his gargoyle-like appearance. Using this leaverage, he picked up the guardian and threw it against a pillar, allowing chucks of rock and sand to fall. "Anesia, there's your leaverage!" He shouted to her.
