Canti shivered, sighing softly, murmuring gently as she stroked his hair.
"Things will turn out. I know it. I just . . . . I know things. Instinctively, sometimes. And this is one of those things. I KNOW it will be okay."
Phelia's eyes snapped open in surprise and she blushed softly, then, after his explanation, smiled back, bigger, and warmer than before, reachin out with her other hand to trace one of the scars across his stomach.
"These. And yes, I did, thank you, love."
Suru accepted the address, lamely and nodded to Laim as he left. ((Sorry, Meegs!))
When Jak charged through the door, he looked up, half disbelieving that he was there, still clutching his hat, tightly, knuckles white with the force of his grip. Tears started to slide down his cheeks again, and he looked even more pale than before.
"Jak . . . . Jak, what if we can't?"

Po snuggled closer to Canti, nuzzling her neck.
"If you say it will, I believe you my love. We have to trust in them to work it out on their own."
Jak kneeled down in front of Suru, wiping away his tears with a trembling hand.
"We have no chance of convincing her if we leave....if we show her that we can love each other, and still have enough love for her...maybe she'll change her mind. And I dont want to be alone anymore...if I cant have both of you...cant I at least have you?"

She sighed softly slipping down to put herself level with him again, kissing the tip of his nose.
"And if they can't, then we'll be here for them to help him pick up the peices."
Suru stared, for a long, long time, before half diving forward, hugging JAk tightly around the waist and burying his face in his chest, shaking with soobs, whimpering, childlike,
"I don't want to go, I love you. I love you, I don't want to go!"

Po sighed contentedly, pressing light kisses on her face.
"I'm so lucky to have an angel in my arms. You have so much love to give, I'm blessed to be in your heart."
"Jak wrapped his arms around Suru, one hand stroking his hair.
"Hush love...Its ok, you wont be alone. I could never leave you alone...we belong together. We will convince Laci, together."

She sighed pleasantly, nuzzling closer and murmuring, gently,"Are you hungry? I can o get you something, if you like?"
Suru stopped crying after a while. He lay limply in Jak's lap, breath comign shallowly, still shivering from his wet clothes and hair. He whispered, weaky,
"I spent all night running and drinking, but all I wanted was to be right here, with you. All I wanted . . . ."

"Why dont we go find something together angel? You need looking after and I just nominated myself for the job." He slipped out of the bed, his hand held out in invitation.
Jak gently brushed the hair out of Suru's face, kissing him tenderly.
"You need dry clothes....and a hot shower. You go up and I'll make us both a hot drink. That is supposing you point me in the direction of the kitchen."

"Thank you so much, Po. I don't know how I could get through this without you."Suru whimpered, softly, kissing Jak back and nodded towards the kitchen, padding odown the hall to the bathroom and closing the door behind him, too tired to even respond vocally.

Po gave her a quick kiss, slipped an arm around her waist and led her out the door.
"You dont need to get through it alone sweetie, I cant think of anywhere I'd rather be right now."
Jak followed Suru down the hall to the bathroom, listening for the shower to start before he turned to the kitchen. He pulled off his wet jacket, dropping it on a chair as he loosened his damp shirt.
Searching the cupboards, he pulled out the kettle and filled it with water, putting it on to heat as he sat down to rest, his body still trembling from raw emotion.

Canti slipped into the front of the house with Po close in tow. She spotted someone in their kitchen and, not recognizing Jak from behind and without his hat, she squeaked and shrank back against Po, shrieking,
"INTRUDER! PO! HIT HIM!"
Suru climbed under the ho water, rinsing, slowly. He tilted his head, thinking he heard shouting, then shook his head, lightly, going back to his soberin shower.

Po laughed at Canti's outburst, recognizing his brother's back immediately. He rushed over, giving him a hug.
"Now angel...I just cant do that to my own brother...I'm afraid you'll have to find another hero this time." His eyes danced as he grinned back at her.
Jak jumped up at the shouting, wincing as he was grabbed by Po.
"I'm sorry for frightening you beautiful, and for intruding in your home. I was about to make some tea. Would you like some? Suru's in the shower right now, he'll be out soon."

Canti paused and blushed, brightly, looking alarmed.
"OH! Omigods JAk, I'm so sorry, I so totally didn't realize it was you, it's just that Po said you were gone, adn you didn't have your coat on or your hat on, and I didn't recognize you and-"
Suru had gotten out of the shower and crept up on Canti during her shock and rambling, and muttered loudly,
"Good gods, Cantique, you talk to damned much."
Canti whiled to see her brother's smiling face and half tackled him with a blissful shreik, making it rather hard for him to keep the towel around his waist shut.
