'Damnit! How can you be late to register?! Oh well, hope the principal doesn't mind me being a few minutes late for our appointment.' The tall auburn headed girl cut through the halls of the school, loosely dodging other students and teachers. Occasionally someone would yell at her about running, but it wasn't long before she disappeared into the morning crowd and was gone from their radar. She wore light acidwash jeans that had a paint spill on the left ankle and splatters of the same white paint across her legs. Her shirt was paint-free, the grey fabric was decprated with kanji symbols for Crown Royal, the designer of the shirt. Over her shoulder was slung a denim bag, the intricate designs had no meaning, just denim circles and paint splotches. Across her cheek was a streak of white paint as well. Her hair was splattered with the paint as well, and around her neck she wore an ID tag, it read: "Inochi Shi, Senior" If one was smart enough, they'd realize her name literally translated to Life Death, it was a name she hated. Inochi came to a skidding halt at the principals office door, and knocked gently, hopeing to not stand there awkwardly for too long.
((Oi dae! Sorry bout that. A bit on the long side. @.@))

"Thanks." She gave the lady a smile. She turned and made a face. Koori began finding her way to her room. When she finally got there she tossed her stuff on the floor and collapsed on the bed.

Shaena stood, murmuring a fast goodbye to the students as they left. She was just about to follow Machi when she heard a knock at the door. With a sarcastic smile she raised an eyebrow at the principal. "You certainly are popular today, aren't you?"

Machi looked at Shaena. "Apparently. One moment." Machi walked over to the dor and opened it. "Oh. Hello Inochi," Machi put a door stopper under the door, "Maybe I should just leave this open." She walked over to Inochi. "Can you wait a moment while I talk to Shaena?" Machi showed Shaena into her office, but when she walked in she remembered something and poked her head out of the doorway and said to Inochi, "In case your hungry there is some food from breakfast on the table over there. Breakfast is already over and lunch is stil a few hours away. Help yourself." Then she walked back into her office and sat across the table from Shaena.
"Alright now down to business. Now I realize you have a couple friends that need to live in water?"

Shaena gave the new arrival a smile in greeting, then headed into the office when Machi indicated to do so. Taking the seat on the front of the desk, Shaena waited till Machi was done with Inochi.
"Well, one anyway. Alu the dolphin is down in the ocean. I found a cave for her to stay in for now. Of course, if you have any ideas for better places, I can send Luin here down to tell her.
And speaking of Luin, he loves the water very much, obviously, but he doesn't need it to survive. Otherwise I couldn't have him here with me, could I?"
Shaena gave a bit of a smile as Luin chittered a bit and playfully nipped her ear.

"Well there is this room downstairs I had set up. You know in case something like this happened. It's kind of like an underwater cave, but we had it furnished into a room for anyone who might need it. There is complete access to the ocean from the room. And I'm sure Alu doesn't want to be alone all day while your busy at work. So you can have that room if you want. And we can also put an aquirium in your classroom so Luin can swim around freely."

Shaena's eyes widened as Machi spoke. She could barely believe what she was hearing. "That would be wonderful! You're right about Alu. SHe wasn't too keen about staying in that cave I found earlier, but she knew it was the best I could do. I'm sure she'll be much happier this way. Thank you so much!"
(OOC:Ya know, I find it just slightly odd that no one has found it odd that I'm walking around with an otter around my neck. I mean, I understand Machi, since she knows I'm a mermaid, but the few students I've seen, not one has even twitched an eye. confused Weird smile )

"Haha. Your welcome! Now here is your schedule of when you have classes. I have also marked when you get to have your breaks. Since you only have three classes to teach there are several breaks. Also here is a map. [[forgot to say map are 3D projecters sweatdrop ]] "I've made it so it highlights certain places like your classroom, your bedroom, the cafeteria, and so forth. Your first day of work will start tomorrow at 9am. Until that time feel free to do as you please."

Shaena took the schedule and mad, giving the former a brief glance before turning to the later. She would look at the schedule more later. Activating the map, she gave it a once over to see if she could understand it. Finding it fairly easy, she looked back at Machi. "All right, thanks. I think I'll go down to my room, drop off my things and go find Alu before lunch. Will I see you there? Oh, by the way, do you have a class list for me?"
((It might be with the schedule and she just didn't notice. If so, go ahead and say it.))

"I will have that ready by tomorrow. Once i figure out how many students want to attend your class. And yes you will see me at lunch. I sit at the staff table. Sometimes if I have a lot of paperwaork I won't be there. But that doesn't happen to often. So I guess we're done." Machi pushed the button on the intercom and said, "Attention students! We now have another class available to you. The class is 'Elemental Control.' With this class you will learn how to control the elements fire, air, water, and earth. There will be two normal classes on the basics then there will be one class for the few students who already know the basics of these elements. If you want to change a class and switch to 'Elemental Control' class come down to the office and I will change it. Now this class only has two beginner classes and one intermidiate class available to you, so you better hurry before it's too late to join!" Then Machi walked out of the room and said, "Inochi, you may come in now."

((Ok, I'm going to make a few assumptions on how the maps work. I hope that's alright. Again, sorry about the length sweatdrop )) Shaena nodded. "Alright. That'll be fine. Well, I suppose I'd best let you get back to work then. I'll see you at lunch." Smiling at Inochi as they passed each other, Shaena heads out into the hall.
Taking a closer look at the map, she noticed a small dot standing in a hall. When she examined it, she realized that the room it was in front of was the office and the dot must represent herself.
Talking to herself as much as to Luin, she pointed at the dot. "All right. If we're here..." she moved her finger down to the water room "and we want to be here, what do you figure the best way to go is?" As if on command, a dim trail made it's way through the virtual hall from the dot and made its way to the room. Chattering, Luin pointed a claw a it. "Yeah, I think you're right. Follow the glowing trail." And so they did.
When they finally reached the room and entered, Shaena found that it was everything that Machi said it was. It was like a combination dorm room and sea side cave. In the middle of the large room was a huge pool of water. It was well large enough for Shaena, Luin and Alu to all swim around at the same time.
Around the pool was a solid floor that averaged around ten feet in width. (so that's 10' all around the pool) On one side was a large desk already supplied with most of the things that she would be needing for her work. On another wall sat a large bed. Shaena was used to sleeping on beds made of kelp or sea sponge and the like, but this one looked like it would be suitable.
What really caught Shaena's attention was the vanity set against the far wall. It was rather ornately shaped, almost organic in the way its curves were formed. It was painted a shimmering white with just a hint of a pink under tone which reminded her greatly of the inside of an oyster. The top seemed well large enough to hold all her brushes, jewels and things and there was just a slight indent in the center that would bring her in closer.
Crowning off this near work of art was a large mirror. Mermaids are naturally rather vain and though Shaena had learned to curb this part of herself when not among her kind, she still prized a vanity such as this.
Only Luin's chattering brought Shaena back to reality. He had jumped off her shoulders and was now in the pool, swimming laps and dipping down into the center. "You're right, Luin. We should go bring Alu here. This will be our home for several months. There will be plenty of time to admire things later."
Slipping into the water, she shifted back to her mere form and the two friends swam out together. They found that there really was no bottom to the pool, that it simply turned into an underwater tunnel. Following it, they eventually found themselves swimming out into the ocean in a part of the cliff right under the school. Looking around, Shaena didn't recognize the area, so she swam out further to try and find the cave again.
After a few moments of searching, Luin spotted it. "Good job. Nicely done, boy." The pair swam off towards the cave. When they reached the entrance, Shaena called to Alu. The excited dolphin came shooting out of the mouth of the cave like a torpedo.
After a few enthusiastic greetings, Shaena managed to get her to calm down. "Well, Alu, I hope you didn't get too attached to that cave, because you won't be staying there. I didn't know it till I talked to her, but Machi had a special room made in the lower level of the school just for people in our situation. It's beautiful and there is direct access to it from the ocean. Come on, we'll show you."
The three swam along the cliff till they found the entrance to the tunnel. After a few moments more, they surfaced in the room. "Well, what do you think? Nice huh?"
The trio of friends spent the rest of the morning getting settled in. Shaena just hoped that things would work out so well the next day.
