well, we DO need a fourth soldier for flare element. might as well be a PC as opposed to an NPC... maybe Meigan could just run up asking to go or some other thing XD

Ongz so I just remembered to do this...uhm..for about a week and a half abouts-ish...I'm working at the Calgary Stampede...and I won't be able to get on..most likely..maybe in the mornings a bit...but I'm not sure...so I won't be RPing...I've got a late shift..so...it's definitely late nights XD
And wow..I will actually read the ooc when I can as well..cuz I totally just interrupted a conversation..XD

It's well..basically..the title kinds explains it...Stampede...does it not conjure up images of cowboys?? Basically it's a celebration of Western Culture and values..and it is literally the biggest event of the year for Calgary...
Uhm...It's kinda hard to explain...it's way easier to just experience..but I'll start with what happens...
So first day there is a parade..called the stampede parade..great fun...it's downtown..
Then throughout the ten days of stampede there are tons of events...at the Grandstand there are rodeo events like bullriding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, etc. And at night there is the grandstand show, with fireworks and performances by the young canadians (A group of young dancers and singers who got to a special school for said skillz..) uhm..they have an agriculture tent with livestock,about agriculture and stuff...and they have the dog show.....in another place whos name I can't remember...there is of course..the main part which is where all the thrill rides and carnival rides are...mini donuts...games..prizes..(hah this year they have deep fried oreos as a new edition and deep fried coke?? lolz)
there are tons of concerts..artists come from everywhere to have concerts here...there are contests...
Cowboy hats and boots are definitely hugely seen.
It's really quite a way to celebrate Calgary's history and culture. It's really fun...and I really like it because it expresses our city nicely. And I like...adore my city so...lolz
hmm what else...oh yeah...coca-cola sponsors the Stampede...so pepsi products are a huge NO
XD
(Actually as employees we aren't allowed to carry anything pepsi around unless we take off the label...)
yeah that's my really lame expression of what the stampede is...people come from around the world to go to it...XD..
And yes..Sheer is right...it's very Canadian XD

I wish I could fly out there, but I'm stuck in Ontario. But I love Guelph so it's all good :3 Very Canadian, EH?
