sora4126 LightsideDarksider Freakin' malware! And screw AVG 9 for not installing properly. My laptop just got hit with a trojan which led to a malware program called "AntiSpy Safeguard" being put onto my laptop. I am typing this on a computer in the school library. Yes, librarian, I am finishing up homework, I'm not on a chat site. Anyway, took it to Staples. They walked me through on how to bypass the forced scan and get back onto the OS, but the sooner the entire thing gets off, the better. I'm gonna try some anti-virus programs my folks have, but if that doesn't work, Staples might have to perform a virus sweep themselves. And if that doesn't work, we may have to nuke my hard-drive. Doing that means I lose everything, from games to important school work (not like any of the work wasn't already done and graded anyway, so no big loss), but I don't want to have to do that unless it's absolutely necessary. So, I'm probably not going to be one for a little time afterwards. Bottomline, if you see something recommending "AntiSpy Safeguard," learn from my mistake and DON'T. GO. FOR. IT. That's not true. I wipe my hard drive fairly often. All you need is an external hard drive to put your stuff onto. (I got a terabyte sized one for about $100, but you can see if you know anyone with one). The way to safely get your stuff off involves installing a specific version of Linux onto a flash drive. So, you'd run Linux off of the flash drive, get the stuff off your compa into the External Hard Drive, then reinstall everything. You'll just need to be sure you're not bringing anything from the trojan with you. Which shouldn't be too problematic. EDIT: Also, so long as you're smart on the internet. You'll only really need AVG and CCleaner installed to keep your computer safe. Both are free, so bonus. Normally I'm smart about crap the internet can give you. I actually had AVG 9.0 installed and it used to periodically scan, but apparently it failed recently without me knowing. And this malware program caught me while I had my guard down. I had a Lab midterm this morning and I was freaking the hell out. So when I got a message from something that looked like it was sanctioned by Windows (but really wasn't) telling me I had a trojan and it linked me to the highest recommended site (which gave me this malware), I was too stressed out to even think twice. Man, this sucks. Luckily I haven't purchased the full version of this malware yet. If I did (which I won't do), then I'd be in real trouble. Like I said, this is a fixable problem, but it's going to require a lot of help from people who are better at fixing this sort of stuff than I am. And I have an external, but it was attached when it happened, so likely it got some of the infection as well. Besides, I wasn't using it to back up data, I was using it to free up main hard-drive memory.

Skaeryll Wow... Budew sucks the only offensive move she has is Absorb and it does jack s**t to anything that isn't water type. Roserade is a solid Aromatherapy user in the end though, it's worth it.
