And what's "tactical"

I mean I know what CQC means..

and what tactical means.. but where/how have these trends shown up where they annoy you.

From places I lurk on Gaia. Mostly Barton Town and the OM Guilds.

People running around in stealth suits acting like they're one of the main characters from Metal Gear Solid. And then use knives a lot and call them 'CQC' knives, because their MGS ripoff naturally only knows CQC. Which doesn't use knives, and there is no such thing as a Close Quarter combat knife. There are knives, and then there are knives.

Tactical is basically the same people calling their stuff tactical for no reason. Like Tactical CQC knives.

Ahaha.

I want to fight one of these guys.

CQC .. as they show it on MGS anyway.. is just judo. With a few kicks and punches.

And I seriously doubt that any of those people know how to grapple.

If you know how to grapple and you have a knife.. you're probably the most dangerous person on the planet.

Unless the other person has a gun.

Unfortunately that's what people think.

I'd hate to sound "holier than thou" with this but that's probably what a lot of them think. Too many action movies. Bruce Lee said a fight should be like a small play... but he didn't mean it literally.

Even if you get hands on the person.. they're always moving.

No technique is infallable.

That's not a holier than thou kind of thing. It's just a fact.

I've seen a lot of people with characters that were lifetime grandmasters of like ninpo, taojitsu, judo, jiujutsu, and whatever you'd call drunken masters.

Then they get attacked, and have no reasonable defense because what they saw on TV/in a video game doesn't work.

I guess it's just a case of "You're attacking me wrong."
