Cool thing.
And I dunno, I'm torn on KB's call. On one hand, I agree accepting your defeat gracefully is for the best. I could argue minor things with my judging, but for the most part, it was either spot on or damned agreeable. My opponent did great, should be acknowledged.
On the other, two judges deemed you victor KB, and you still lost. I know had I suffered that fate, I'd be complaining about it because that makes no sense in short or long term view. Someone else said it better than I could, along the lines of "ultimately, it's hard to numerically value actions in a roleplay, and while it's acceptable for deciding whether you win or lose per judge, totaling it and comparing the values seems absurd."
Which is why while I'm okay 100% with my defeat, if I in KB's situation, I'd have to be honest that I'd be complaining pretty hard too. I think virtually anyone would be.

KB, my judgments came down to you as a roleplayer. You, as you personally presented yourself in that fight. Everything factored into why you were graded as you were. Both of you in that fight were graded on the fact that your profiles were a lot high tier than the rest of the tournament, so you both were equally scored on the same terms. I'm didn't penalize you because you got a profile accepted that had some very high tier stuff. I penalized you solely on how you roleplayed that against someone with the same tier.

Yeah... that.
I have to stand behind the loss for no reason other than that GTB doesn't have a rule that prevents a single judge from overturning it because of a huge point difference compared to the others. Should, but doesn't.
Otherwise I'd be all for the whatnots, because from the point-breakdown that I read it seemed KB was taking penalties for 1) using overpowered abilities from his approved bio, and 2) roleplaying his character accurately, as a bloodthirsty monster.
While I won't make any statement for either side on specifics in the fight, such as this sun incident which seems to be on KB's mind, it does seem pretty off to me that he got a 2 in RolePlaying despite the category breakdown X showed us specifically states "staying in character" as being what it's based on.

.::. The dead never leave... .::. Not to interject... but isn't that KB's character to go all or nothing in a fight? Like, if he had to choose to kill someone with a gun or grenade... he'd go for the grenade.
-shrug- Again, sorry for interjecting -backs out to wait for comments in other thread-
.::. They just go somewhere else .::.

Picture this.
Championship fight. Two judges give it a close call but favor Fighter A. One goes "Fighter A was a f*****t" in his mind and heavily favors Fighter B. Fighter B wins.
This sytem's just asking for future drama.

The roleplaying section is both a factual and an opiniated area. There's a difference between roleplaying a guy who goes all or nothing and roleplaying correctly, or in a way that appeals to the reader. It didn't appeal to me. Is it because I'm biased on how it should be done? Who knows. It's just the way KB did that it didn't interest me. My judgment was like a "tiebreaker" anyway. Everyone else was judging them closely, but did that mean I have to judge closely? No. It meant whoever I judged better was going to win, anyway. But since I was blind judging (meaning I wasn't looking at the other judges' scores), I was solely judging on my personal judgments.

Vintrict My judgment was like a "tiebreaker" anyway. A tiebreaker against two other judges who were leaning towards KB.
That.. isn't a tiebreaker Vintrict. XD

This reminds me of the Tyson Griffin vs Evan Dunham fight.
Evan Dunham was legit pounding Tyson to dirt, and had his back all three rounds for a long time.
Two judges gave it 30-28 Dunham.
One gave it 30-28 Griffin.
If the UFC was this tournament, Griffin wins via lol.

Is there any reason why people can't join the guild anymore? A friend of mine was interested in doing some story-based character development with me, and I was curious about it.

Aguentar Bjorn Kearney Two judges gave it 30-28 Dunham. One gave it 30-28 Griffin. If the UFC was this tournament, Griffin wins via lol. If the one gave it 33-25 Griffin then that would be more accurate.

Ah.
So it was even more unreasonable, with an even more unreasonable outcome.

To insert my own two cents.
I'm surprised that I was given the win. While I'll happily say that the odds were stacked against Iden given the abilities of both characters, that's more an IC issue and not an RP one. I personally think I could have written better for the fight.
Second, I do have to agree with Haelstrom that it makes little sense for one judge to trump the other two.
Honest opinion given, I'll leave it at that. I can't really say much more than that given by all rights I *should* be biased in favor of the judgment.
