Lt. Brookman You see bolters, I see another perfectly good device for stupid soldiers to incur friendly fire incidents with a new method of hurting people. The 3.5 second setup time requiring the soldier to activate multiple things to fire should help prevent that.

Lt. Brookman Weapons are always made by the lowest bidder. Excuse me for a second. Haha.. Hahahaha. Heehee hoohoo hehehehe. Okay, now seriously. You remember this?; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Objective_Individual_Combat_Weapon_programWell it started the XM-25 project. It's been going for a very long time an the only thing we've really seen from it is new weapons. We haven't had airbursting rounds. We've just had multiple offshoots of weapons including the discontinued (Don't think it was ever produced in quantity) XM8 model weapons. Now don't tell me that things are made by the lowest bidder, because this is the US of A military we're dealing with. They hold competitions to encourage people to make bad assery items. Just look at the F-35 an how it was concieved. Now there is a price limit, but uh it's pretty damn steep for the US. I just think the manufacturing cost of the Air-burst rounds on mass scale for infantry units is going to be too big for the weapon to do anything other then research.

Well I'm thinking of another roleplay, set in the world of Terra, instead this one has a similar setting to FF 7 with the whole futuristic look, with guns and swords both existing. The roleplay revolves around the Fujima ((Honestly the name sounds familiar but I couldn't think of anything better, unless someone's got a suggestion)) Corporation, which uses a energy source to power the cities that the Corporation is connected to, by the main city Middenheim. This energy source is known as the Void Stream, a stream of Void energy in it's purest form, although it comes from another dimension between Terra, and I guess you could say the afterlife, the Dark Void, which is where daemons (demons) reside. Now the generators or machines that the Corporation uses causes a rift to be torn between the two dimensions which allows these daemons to enter. Enter in the group of soldiers, or specialist that the Corporation uses to fight the daemons off, and either kill or banish them back to the Dark Void.
Another thing about Void energy is that it can be very corruptive, as the Corporation found out when a leak had been found at one of the generators, the whole sector was full of "Ghouls" mutated humans, that were rather rabid, voracious, carnivorous things. Though every once and a while something rare happens, where a human is born with void energy residing in them, albeit they attract daemons like moths to a lantern, and they are capable of being possessed if not trained. Which some of the specialist that the corporation uses are these void filled humans, with special abilities.
From there the plot goes, my character that I plan on making is one of those void filled humans, and he was possessed for a time, with the corporation keeping him under locked down, he eventually was released when they found he was no longer possessed, in truth he literally absorbed the daemon into himself, it becoming a part of him, which increased his power, though he already is a veteran amongst the corporation.
So what do you guys think?

So what do you guys think? I like it, not too fond of the names, but I guess the Void is based on the Warp?

Dark Void, yes, the daemons though are not made up of emotions ((That is what the demons of chaos, or the warp is made of, right?)) , they're living beings though they are made of void energy, and they are capable of possessing humans as I said earlier, albeit it has to be one of the humans born with void energy running in their blood, though they are perfectly capable of living in the human world as long as they want. They also are capable of just like the void born humans capable of manipulating the void, going so far as being able to corrupt a human, or quickening the corruption of a human already being corrupted by void energy.
