Sensing the telepathic link now gone, Emma shouted, "Finish them!"
Steve Rogers fought and shouted back, "What of the infected ones? The students! Our colleagues!"
Emma felt the pain in her chest. Only a small handful of the children had been infected thank god, from both schools, but even a few was too many! Her collegues, men and women she had worked with...she had hoped, but knew the hard, cold truth.
She called back, "They are Brood now! The change cannot be reversed!"

A Brood charges up at Cassie and Dani and Achilles leaps, spearing the creature and the two tumble over on the ground! Achilles swung his fists and clubbed at the beast as it tried taking a bite out of his throat!

Seeing what happened to Matches only brought bad memories for Cassie. Memories of Conner dying in her her arms. She shook with rage.. Cassie couldn't believe that she had been cursed to see Conner die not once but twice.
"AHHHHHH!!!"
Cassie plunged into battle with the remaining brood. Her face, eyes, hair, clothes, hands, and indeed every part of her was covered in alien guts. In a matter of minutes it seemed like most if not all of the brood were dead or gone. Cassie stood alone in the middle of the field.
"CO'MON! THERE'S MORE OF YOU I KNOW IT! BRING IT b***h!"

Arsenal, keep Powell out of the stadium. Wondergirl has lost it and I need to get her clear.

The field had slowly dwindled...
Remains of Brood warriors by the hundreds littered the grounds of the stadium...
And not just the Brood, but casualties there were on the sides of both schools as well...
The surviving teachers, and what students that had not been avacuated, slowly congregated in the midst of the field together...
One shaky voiced freshman girl asked hoarsely, "I-Is it over?"

Almost everyone around Cassie thought she had lost it. They thought she had gone crazy again.. that she would turn all psycho Ares is great or something again. But d**k knew that wasn't the case. He knew because he was there the first time Conner had died. d**k knew because he knew what it felt like when you could save someone you loved.
" Co'mon Cass.. it's over."
Cassie looked at d**k all teary eyed she could tell that unlike the others who feared her.. d**k sympathized with her.
" d**k... we won right..?"
" Yeah.. "
Then why does it feel like we lost?
d**k hugged Cassie the stadium was filled with alien corspes.. both students and staff fell victim to the alien attack. Cassie broke down crying on d**k's shoulder.

One final Brood alien, laying injured on the ground...suddenly had it's head impaled by a spear wielded by the Queen of the Amazons...
Amazon and Thalarion alike walked through the Brood corpses, looking for any human survivors that might be amongst them...
Achilles came up to Wally and rested a hand on his shoulder.
"Wally?"
he took his arm and led him towards Cassandra.

Achilles smiled brightly and returned Wally's embrace, so long since he had a true friend who had no shame in sharing such a simple gesture. After a few moments, he let Wally go and rested a hand on his shoulder.
"As I understand, an alien force attacked both schools. There have been...casualties. On both sides, but we've ended the threat. All of us."
He placed a finger under Wally's eye and frowned, "How did you lose your sight?"

Cassie sniffles..
" Wally.. the school was attacked.. Achilles came to help. It's over now though.. "
Cassie looked down. d**k looked at her.
"Are you going to be okay?"
Cassie nodded.
"I'll talk to Ms.Frost about getting you back in the school. You fought bravely back there..
" Thanks.."
Cassie continued to look down at the floor. d**k whispered over to Achilles..
"She's really going to need you."
With that d**k left Cassie with Wally and Achilles.
