Maria still didn't notice anything until a big clump of dust fell over the page she was on, covering the words. She frowned, and glared up at the rafters. There was definitely something up there. From her mother's gifts, she was pretty sure it was a bird, but she couldn't be entirely sure. So, she continued to stare at the shadows until they formed the shape of a...boy?! "Hey! What are you doing up there!

The boy looked down at the girl and snuffed at her, sitting on the rafter, knocking more dust onto her and her book. "Hiding. And you better not tell that crazy faerie I'm up here, bookworm!" he cawed at her, scooting more towards the darker corners.

"Hey!" Maria shouted, wiping dust off her book and her shoulders. She glared up at the rafters, considering going straight to Anya right then and there. But she figured she'd be nice to the newly engaged faerie... "Why don't you find your own hiding place?" she replied angrily.

The boy growled and looked down at the girl. "Hey! I was here first!! Don't you dare tell me to get lost!" he cawed again. He could feel his monstrous blood rising as one eye, an enigmatic purple, to a deep threatening red. How dare she tell something that could easily kill her to just piss off!! She was asking for it!! But he had to be careful. Even Jethrow didn't know what he was. Couldn't go getting discovered so easily.

"No you weren't!" she responded indignantly, standing and crossing her arms as she glared up into the rafters some more. Whatever this thing was, she was sure she could take it. Her eyes glossed over as she read his soul, seeing a chained raven. It was puzzling, but she was more angry than curious at that point in time.

The boy snarled and jumped down, landing on the top of the bookcase in front of Maria, two large black raven wings letting him land light enough not to break the bookcase, but loud enough to make an intimidating noise. His eyes were still different, glaring at Maria ever so piercingly. "Shut up little soul girl! And find your own spot! This is my place!!" he said threateningly, a few feathers molting off those sleek black wings.

One thing that Maria had clearly inherited from her father's side of the family: Stubbornness. She narrowed her eyes at the raven and didn't move. 'I was here even before you came to the school, raven mocker, so I win." [OOC:] This reminds me of a darker Razz and Yumi...

The boy yet looked to girl in confusion at the insult. "Raven mocker? What the hell does that mean?" he asked, sitting down on the bookcase, staring at her. As his blood calmed, his eye slowly started to change from its blood red back to its original enigmatic violet color.

Maria stared at the boy and rolled her eyes. "What do you think it means? A mocker of a raven. There was an ancient evil creature that was the offspring of a god and human women that had the body of a person and the wings, beak, and eyes of a raven. Raven mocker."

The boy snarled, both eyes bleeding over with red. "Shut up! Both my parents were respectable raven demons! Strongest in the western mountains! I am no mimic or imitation!! So shut up!" he yelled more towards the top of his lungs before flying over the girl and to the door. He muttered venomously about Maria, imitations, mockers, and other things as he left the library. The boy resolved to the belfry in the eastern wing of the castle. Maybe Maria wouldn't intrude on him there. Or anyone else for that matter.

Maria smirked as the raven went flying off, before she settled back down amongst her books, resuming her organization of them.

The boy sulked up to the bell tower, hiding in the topmost floor with the old bronze bell. He had made sure to tie the rope off so someone wouldn't ring it and blow his eardrums out. Once that was taken care of and a crate moved over the trapdoor that led to this room, the boy sat down to stare at the town, running his fingers through his wings, pulling out the looks feathers he was molting.

When Maria finished the bookshelf she'd been working on, she found she didn't have the patience to stay there anymore, and she wandered out of the library. Without Kuro around, she didn't really know anybody to talk to, so she wandered through the castle.

The boy continued to pull out his old feathers, tossing them out the window and letting them float to the ground. But he was itching like mad. "GAAHH!!! I hate molting!!! It's so itchy!! Worse than fleas man!!" he yelled to himself, scratching at his wings and head furiously.

Finally, Maria decided to go outside. She wandered around the edges of the castle rather than the overpopulated gardens, and she came across a pile of...raven feathers. She glared at it briefly, reminded of the annoying raven kid.
