Ms Emma Frost Please. I've seen people walk up, press the button, and keep on walking having never had any intention of crossing the street. rolleyes I said they think the light will change faster, not that they have to cross the street. They get (sexual) gradifaction from making all those cars stop with the press of button. It's almost a god complex....

Wesley Gibson I said they think the light will change faster, not that they have to cross the street. They get (sexual) gradifaction from making all those cars stop with the press of button. The sad thing is they have the mistaken belief that the button has something to do with the actual traffic light changing from red to green so they can cross when it's nothing more than to get that "Walk" signal.

The sad thing is they have the mistaken belief that the button has something to do with the actual traffic light changing from red to green so they can cross when it's nothing more than to get that "Walk" signal. Are you saying traffic lights and Walk light have no connection between them?

Typically, all the button does is tell the timing system to activate the 'Walk' light on the next cycle. The amount of time to the next cycle then depends on the system used at the intersection, whether it's timed or based on sensors.
Hell, sometimes the "Walk" light comes on regardless, and the button is simply there as a psychological thing for the pedestrians.
