It would have been two years ago, because a year before that, I believe there had been a case where two judges said "You win" and a third said "You lost", and because of the point split the team lost. At least, I remember something coming out of HoH 08 about it.
But yeah. Points are great. But they should only explain why the person won, and provide the judge with a way to break down their opinion more objectively. Comments are also great, because they let someone explain at length why they felt one person did well, or why another did badly.
But a simple majority is what it should come down to, after the dust clears and the numbers are crunched.

I used to be able to do about five chin-ups, which.. I was impressed at myself. My arms killed me after those, though.

Man, I'm the kinda guy who wants his own area to exercise, and I don't got such a space. Luckily I live by a gym now.
Still, while I ain't the lifting master, I can plenty handle myself. I'm more interested in running personally, I've got noodle thin arms but I've got stocky legs of the gods.

I generally do like, 10-15 at a time. With pushups though I only got to the point where I was doing 30 in a sitting, same with situps.

For core we did something like 30 crunches/pikes/whatever else. Then we did planks, some controlled exercise to help breathing, and then 20 push-ups. We did three sets of those.

@KB: That is true, but that also depends on the third judge looking at the judgements of Judges A and B, which would actually affect his or her judging. Of course, I think there are two styles of doing that. You either...
A. Have two judges judge a fight, and if they both rule one way that's perfectly fine. But if they disagree, THEN you get in the third judge, who looks at both sides of the argument and agrees one way or the other.
or
B. All three judges judge the fight for the sake of judging and honestly try to decide which fighter did the best. If you STILL end up with a tie, the scores will break the tie for you.

I'm more on KB's playing field, here but I'm lucky to weigh 140 when I'm drenched.
5'7"
I can/used-to-be-able-to chin-up like a madman, though XD
Haven't done them in a while.
Also: Is 504.71 Armor on a Malphite build too much?

The Darth Vizzle But yeah. Points are great. But they should only explain why the person won, and provide the judge with a way to break down their opinion more objectively. Comments are also great, because they let someone explain at length why they felt one person did well, or why another did badlyMy sentiments exactly. Because even if you end up with judges that tie, you explain why you justified that tie. And because of how different someone's personality and viewpoint is, you'll rarely have cases where all three judges comment on a fight as a tie. You'll always have one guy who sees it a little differently, and comments are very good like that. Comments can also be bad in that they can start arguments, but that's only when people try to debate it with the judges. A fair-minded competitor will be satisfied with knowing WHY they scored low without even needing to agree to it or know who thought that way. Because in the end, you don't need to agree to it at all. No judge is a god among men or a paragon of roleplay.
