John opened his mouth to protest...before shutting it, Raven shooting down his only defence before he could deploy it. It was fair enough too - she had always ben there for him. The least he could do q was...not getting to involved in his fights.
"Errands? Like what?" He asked, screwing his face up at the idea of Hono fighting in the tournament - if he had his way, she wouldn't be fighting. A woman as fine as her should rely on a guy like John to deal with that sort of thing...

"I may need to replace weapons, and having someone I can trust to get them for me would be real nice... Aaaaand I might need someone to keep an eye out for the kids." She leaned into him as they walked again, leading him towards the far side of the building. "Sam isn't a problem.. but Bren, more and more I worry over the boy, he had to grow up far too quickly and sometimes he reacts badly to the things I chose to do."
The Leather Boutique, was a much larger store than all the others, and Raven was glad to see it as she tried to put her own children out of mind once more. "At any rate.. what kind of coat do you want? Long or short, form fitting or loose?"

They simply wouldn't understand, probably wouldn't even try...but then, he hadn't given them the opportunity. He would have to do that. Tomorrow He looked down at her quizzically, noting the sudden change of subject, and wondered if she was like him - not really suited for children. Sure, John put in a good effort when he'd been around...but the f fighting spirit didn't let him rest. Maybe this time it would be different... But he went with along with it. "Well...i guess a short leather one like the one I just had would be nice...form fitting I guess, although maybe something looser would be better..."She nodded and led him towards the mens Jackets, looking admiringly at what she thought might be a women's duster in a dark purple. " A bike jacket then... any color preference, something with studs or a logo of some type?" There were quite a few jackets in different styles, some simple, and others appearing to have more straps and buckles than was quite necessary.. even a couple that looked more like porcupines than anything else.

He started walking through the aisles of the shop, pulling on his beard in thought as he looked over the selection. There was many to choose from, many different types and styles...
He found one that was rather plain, but fit him well - well encapsulating his mighty frame in the thick leather, with no logos our patterns, just a thin line where the leather met ast his shoulders and back.
He ead about to show Raven this one to get her opinion, before he paused at a rack, pushing some jackets aside to look at the one that had caught his eye.
It was looser them his first choice, with buckles around the wrists and waist. The collar was thicker them the other as well, but the thing that caught his eye was the lightening bolt stitched into the left sleeve, coming from the shoulder down to the wrist.
He grabbed this and put it on, his steel hand poking out of the sleeve with the thunderbolt on it easily., anything as he did. He walked back to Raven, holding his arms out. "Waddya reckon? Too tacky?"

Rae snorted and slowly walked around him, her nail tracing along the thunderbolt as she stood beside him, tugging at the hem to make sure it encompassed his wide shoulders properly. "Not tacky at all... rather fitting I think... simple, yet... striking! And no holes!" xd
That last was obviously meant to be a bit of a joke, as she nodded her head approvingly... John had good taste, he just needed to remember that clothes wore out, and to discard them at that point instead of trying to hold onto them past their prime!
"Good choice, did you want to get something to eat before we find that bank?" She asked as she started to herd him towards the check-out.

"Hardy hardy har." He said to her joke about the holes, poking her belly gently - so he liked to get every shred of life out of his clothes? Whats the problem with that? xp
"Sure, I could eat - and i'm damn thirsty..." He said as she shooed him to the cashier,, taking the jacket off and presenting it and the other to the man.

"I need to go powder my nose... I charge you with the duty of finding me a fruit salad as well as hunting up food for yourself! Do you accept this mission Mr. Tomorrow?" It was almost as if the woman could never be serious for longer than a total of one hour per day, hopefully John wouldn't get too tired of her silly little jokes too soon.

John responded in kind, saluting her crisplybefore turning on his heel and marching away. Her sense of humour was refreshing, just what he needed to keep him from going into a brooding mess. It was a welcome change from being yelled at for getting beaten up again, thats for sure! He looked down at the card she's handed him, looking it over, turning it over in his hand. He had no ideahow to use it -.he hasn't really been posting attention to how Rae used it. He was sure it would come to him - buthe might need to preform a but of recon... He skulked around a vegan shop for a few minutes, spying a fruit salad perfect for Raven, but taking three time to watch a gaggle of school girls use their own cards. Bemused, he approached the counter and ordered thee fruit salad and an iced tea, swiping the card with a smirk - no hand over, no smiles, just cold and to the point. Interesting... He did the same at a beef place nect to the vegan shop - why are they always next to each other? - getting himself a sizeable sandwich and some fries with a large bottle of water. Taking thee goods on the trays, he found a table and sat, wrorrying about the seat using his weight...

She smiled as she sauntered over to John, leaning on his shoulder as she looked at his catch. "Well done, you learn fast young one!" xd
He had done well, although she hoped he didn't expect her to manage to eat three fruit cups by herself... eating food was mostly just a hobby for her after all xp

It wasn't perfect, he'd obviously ordered too much - but he was able to handle the excess! A she sat down he spoke up quietly, almost meekly. "Rae..." he started, pausing for a moment, hesitating - he kind ofknew the answer, he just wanted to heart it from her mouth. "...Why'd you join the tournament?"

She would pull a chair around so she could sit next to him, instead of across the table, grabbing one of the fruit cups and looking into it as if the contents were all important as she considered his question. "Mostly I joined because I was bored... and at least on a team I have something to do, even if it is only cheering for my boys... but also, I need the practice... because I am liable to find myself in deep trouble sometime soon."
She quirked a smile as she speared a few grapes on her fork. "Sometimes even a priestess has to take up arms to fight for her God..."

John grunted at that, taking a big bite out of his sandwich. He could understand the reasons by that...he figured she's been bored.
"Would you like me to give you some pointers?" He asked seriously. "I may not be very fast, but I can certainly show you howe to take a hit properly, as well as some grapple amd throw manouvers..."
s**t he was scared. Scared she's get hurt, or worse, killed - especially if she was running around performing some kind of holy retribution.
"And...you know you can always call on me if you need a hand with anything..."

She grinned as she looked him up and down, since he defiantly fit the bill on that order. " I know how to use my size and flexibility against an opponent, but finding a big guy willing to take me seriously in a practice bout... without having to dislocate his elbow or knee first... can be a challenge!" sweatdrop Hell finding a big man that didn't look at her and automatically classify her as tits and a** was a challenge most days... some guys weren't just dicks, they seemed to try and think with theirs too xp " And I know I can always count on you dear.. plus I'm certain that you would make a great human shield... you manage to totally cover me without much trouble at all..."  Of course there was no chance in hell she was going to ever lose him to protect herself.. that had never been her style, and it would break her heart at the same damn time!

"Well, it's nice to know i'm nothing but a piece of meat to you, Rae!" he said with a laugh, reaching out to give her a playful shove before returning to his sandwich. "The good thing about me is that i'm durable - I'll let you do things that the other kids won't do, and theres no worry about hurting me seriously."He was certainly certain that Rae could hurt him if she truely wished - but she'd have to work for it wink
