[Before Narration]

[Anthony ~.~ Shipwreck Cove ~.~ Docks]

Anthony felt nauseous just picturing Jenny's description of the "never-ending rocking of the ship."

"FFFFF--..."

"I think I'll take my chances," he replied. The knight watched the mage back-flip and swim away.

The rest followed. Bobbi, then Kyle, then Sayrike, and finally Noelle.

The young man chuckled at Sayrike's last words prior to her follow up via the charms. He got it. He sent his response through the charms, "Psh... as if I'm capable of taking anything seriously." He paused. "Take care of yourself, Sayrike. I won't be there to save you this time," he joked.

Anthony gave Noelle a reassuring nod. "You, too."

[After Narration]

[Shipwreck Cove ~.~ Black Pearl]

Anthony was eager. He was beginning to feel anxiety now, like someone moments away from presenting a speech. He could feel his blood turn cold and his hands beginning to shake. He was nervous.

The knight sat on the railing, gazing out the mouth of the cove at the silent waters reflecting the sun's rays. They'll be setting sail soon.

The young man looked down at his palm, the same palm that was able to manifest his first orb of darkness. Suddenly, he wasn't as nervous anymore. In fact, he was beginning to feel excitement boiling up inside of him.

He was finally going to use his new ability.

((Sorry for the crappy post, I have to get to class! @_@))

[John.:Shipwreck Cove:.Black Pearl]

"Ohhhhhhhhhh a sailor's life is the life for me tiddly um HONK HONK deedle dum dum dee and I never ever ever do a thing about the weather 'cause the never ever ever does a thing for me..." John sang proudly as he used his float ability to make sure the hull of the Black Pearl was in peak condition. Slowly he scanned it to make sure it didn't need any fine tuning since it's last voyage out at sea.

John spotted Anthony sitting on the rail of the Pearl, and smiled as he floated up to him. "Hey bud," he started. "Ya ready to kick some dark-patoot? I hear they got cookies, but I ain't takin' 'em!"

John laughed a little bit to lighten the mood of the situation. It was a way to relax, and honestly was a poor attempt at that. John, himself, was nervous for the battle to come. One could never be sure what demons lied over the horizon.

{Bobbi .:. Atlantica .:. Throne Room}

After a quick embrace with Kyla and a check-in to make sure Kyle was okay after learning he didn't want to be disturbed, Bobbi had decided the best way to prepare for the upcoming battle was by getting a quick tour of the city from one of the guards via map. She was currently ensconced in listening to one of the Captains (or whatever rank the mer-dude held in Tritan's armed forces) detail the various strengths of his troops and trying to figure out where she could fit in to any battle plans without getting in the way. Not getting in the way was definitely a huge concern for her.

{Demyx .:. Shipwreck Cove .:. Black Pearl}

Demyx, not wanting to be left alone while everyone else was off doing stuff, had found himself a nice corner where he was likely to be overlooked, and sat to observe what the kids were doing. John seemed to be quite cheerful, but Anthony was being... well, "mopey" was the best word the Melodious Nocturne could think of. It seemed to fit, anyway.

Briefly, the Nobody wondered what the kids who had gone below were up to. He'd have wondered if it would have been safer to go with them, until he realized how stupidly suicidal some of them seemed to be. Each one of them seemed to be bent on proving they were epic-level Hero material, which just seemed silly. Oh well, it was their skins they were risking. He was just along for the ride, and to see about getting his heart back.

[Anthony ~.~ Shipwreck Cove ~.~ Black Pearl]

Is that singing?

Anthony's attention was adverted from his hand to John. He was singing and floating. He floated towards him, then addressed him.

They haven't talked much. They've probably haven't had the opportunity to even speak yet.

"Heck yeah!" the knight responded, breaking his gloomy behavior. "Whoever you are..." He was embarrassed. Did they meet before and he had already forgotten, or is this their first time meeting? "I'm sorry, I... I don't think we've met," he said, chuckling at the end. "Unless we have and I've totally forgotten. Which is common."

The young man stuck out his hand to shake the others. "Name's Anthony. Nice to meet you... and if we've met already, nice to meet you again!"

[Dawn : Shipwreck Cove : Black Pearl]

Dawn had been standing near one of the railings looking down into the water, while trying to stay out of the way of the scrambling pirates. She glanced to the side hearing the sound of singing coming from John, she couldn't help, but smile slightly at the scene. At least someone was able to lighten the mood. The dancer took a moment to look around who else stayed with them. From what she could remember, most of the Earthlings went under the sea. So it was safe to say things will be quiet interesting. She spotted Demyx. She tilted her head to the side as she approached the Nobody, with a slight look of confusion... she was about to do something she was good at: cause trouble.

"Hai there Demi," she said dubbing Demyx with a new nick name, "What are you doing here? You know there is going to be a battle soonish, right? I know you hate fighting. So you here to take up space or what."

[Noelle .:. Prote ~ Atlantica]

Noelle was sitting in the sand contemplatively, scooping up the grains and running them through her fingers. She was anxious. Her inability to get to Kyle was unnerving as well. It was the silence before the storm, and currently she had time to meditate on everyone's balance. She wouldn't get the opportunity later, so she would have to try and get to Kyle now or just worry throughout the day. It took less time then it did earlier for her to calm and be able to see everyone around her. The balances of those there were interesting. They were different from Riku's in that the Light part of their balance was nearly infinitely larger than that of their Darkness--but it was still there, some a little more than others, and each unique. Comparing them to her own balance relieved her worry for them. She still hadn't gotten to Kyle, though. He was too far away for her reach.

The agromancer frowned and went back to running the sand through her fingers. She needed to be closer. Maybe she could . . .

"Can I be of any help?" Prote asked, approaching and standing next to Noelle. She seemed to be startled from thought, traces of it on her face as she looked up.

"There were Geists in the valley." Noelle told him, her mind still clearly elsewhere, "Try and get some information on what kinds there are. There shouldn't be any like you, but we still want to know what we're dealing with"

"Of course." He said. Prote turned and walked in the direction of the valley shadowed in Darkness, his steps leaving no imprint in the sand.

"And in the mean time . . ." she said softly to herself. Noelle glanced around to make sure there wasn't anyone paying attention to her before rubbing her hands in the sand again. A very small and discreet hole opened in the earth beneath her into which she sank and closed as soon as she was inside. A tunnel opened up for her under ground, stretching toward where Kyle should be.

[John.:Shipwreck Cove:.Black Pearl]

John took Anthony in hand and shook he strongly.

"Aw, don't worry. I don't know you either!" he laughed. "I'm John. I'm from Cleveland! Mistake on the lake as we always say. How 'bout you?"

John continued to float hovering up and down as he gave off a soft hum from the magnetic energy.

[ Kyle : Atlantica : Ariel's Cove ]

Since last speaking to Kyla, the Dragoon-Mage had gotten somewhat more comfortable with the burden. He could move, at the very least, without losing concentration. He probably could have before, but with so much at stake, he preferred to be cautious.

He breathed a small sigh of relief. After a moment, though, he felt someone coming-- someone connected to him, anyhow. With all the magic he'd been using, his connections to the seals were automatically on, which was annoying because he could feel every little influx of emotion, of Joe's anger, of Kyla's concern, of Noelle's worry. It's not that they were annoying. Quite the contrary, he felt better knowing that they trusted him enough. Rather, the potential risk of something off-setting his concentration annoyed him.

"Careful, Noelle," he messaged her, swimming upwards from the ground. "Come in gradually. It's going to be... bright."

[ Sora ; Yuffie : Atlantica : City Proper ]

The Keyblade Master was helping out wherever he was needed. His first goal had been to immediately see the King, to prove that he had fulfilled his promise of reinforcements. It had come as a relief, especially when Sora assured him they were all equally as talented as he was. It was a small lie (they were close, but they needed more polishing), but morale was more important right now. And when the King realized he had over half a dozen Keyblade Master-equivalents aiding him, he was no longer so concerned about his missing Trident.

The Kingdom, Sora reassured him, would not fall.

'Please let that be true,' Sora pleaded in his mind as he and Yuffie helped carry some more shell-plate armor toward some new recruits that had just come in from the south.

[ Ajora : Paris : Bedchamber ]

After what had easily been another hour of delight, Ajora sat on the edge of the bed, gazing out the nearby window. Despite his clothing being made of Darkness (and thus recall-able at anytime), he remained nude-- his mind was everywhere but his clothing at this point. His elbows were propped on his knees, hands entwined and head resting on the edge of them, his mouth covered by the fingers, as he stared out into Paris' morning view.

Things were not going as smoothly as he'd liked.

"I must go, ma belle amante," he finally spoke, though he didn't budge; he didn't particularly want to, though simultaneously he did. It was... confusing. "As much as I have been enthralled by your company, business calls... perhaps tonight?"

At that, he did finally budge, craning his head just slightly to look over his shoulder at her form.

[Jenny :: Atlantica]

Jenny felt as if she were swimming in circles, feeling the anticipation well up inside of her. It didn't help that a lot of the songs echoed the same anxiety, drifting around her like a cacophony of sounds. She watched as everyone hurried to and fro, yet, she felt helpless as her heart pounded in her chest and butterflies fluttered against her stomach. "Don't back out now, you always feel jittery before a fight... don't worry."

She closed her eyes and her mind stepped into the realm of music, between the veils of melodies that sung out the feelings of their hearts. The mage sifted through them, reaching out for the familiar tunes of her friends and as if she were opening the curtains to let in the light she drew those songs closer to her. These she would protect no matter what.

Axel: Balcony: Shipwreck Cove> Black Pearl
“Well, no turning back now.” He muttered after reemerging with a piece of buttered toast stuck between his teeth. The sight of the earthlings leaving them behind would be unsettling, anxious to anyone normal, but he at least he acknowledged he should be feeling something.
Maybe if he pretended they were more like his old friends it would stir something more profound inside him. What that braniac had said earlier in the kitchen was still there in the back of his mind. Chances are she could be full of it, but the best way to do was maybe to put her theory to practice- if she was wrong he was going to make sure to rub it in her face.

‘ Alright then- think… warm thoughts…. Think warm thoughts…. Think warm thoughts…we’re gonna fight soon-so think..errr… dramatic thoughts?…’

During the rest of the time before the battle Axel did do something more proactive, and did some warm ups. After that he checked his armor and gear before scarffing something more nourishing then toast, and all the while keeping that stupid mantra in the back of his mind. It didn’t hurt to try right? Heaven knows he did everything else.
He noticed the ships were getting ready to set sail, and wondered how the team was preparing and went to go find Blondie (Cloud) and Fearless ( Leon) when he spotted Demyx and Dawn.

“ Hey!” he called, giving a half wave. “ Keeping an eye out you too?”

[Kyla: Atlantica: throne Room]
When the rest of the gang was in closer proximity Kyla made sure to greet them – Joe being the first to arrive. She did as promised, and did her best to gently deter their means to go see Kyle directly. Even with the safety precaution in place it didn’t hurt to avoid having to use it at all.
It was hard embracing Bobbi knowing she was keeping something from her. Kyla was just full of secrets to keep no a days it seemed. “The people here are so brave,” she commented as a group of armed civilians passed their group on their way to the front- “…So many children had to say goodbye to their families… hopefully those goodbyes are not forever.”

She tried to keep at least one eye on each person in the group. Kyla knew if she were in their place- she’d try and find a window to scurry off and find Kyle. That’s what Noelle did, and she discovered it too late. One moment she was running her fingers through sand- the next she was talking to Prote who had come down with them, then she was gone!

Kyla couldn’t’ find her anywhere! ‘ s**t!’

She didn’t need to think twice when Noelle didn’t end up being with everyone else when she checked- she had snuck away somehow. But how?! No time to waste- she sent a message in his direction.
He’d receive it with just a slight bit of a irritation at the end, mixed with understanding. It wasn’t that Kyla was ticked off that Noelle snuck off- she was more annoyed she didn’t catch her.

‘ Kyle! Noelle slipped by me I don’t know how she did it- heads up. You probably already know
.’

Guess there was nothing left but to concentrate on keeping the spell up- it was seamless, if the artist kept her cool it would stay that way too. The chances of Noelle somehow destroying the talisman from its location on Kyle were very slim.
Kyla returned her attention to the others. A thought occurred to her, for the fight- and she approached Jenny who seemed to be just bidding her time, letting anxiety nibble at the edges of her control. Kyla got the chance to take in her appearance then again, being a mermaid suited her.

“Jenny? I wanted to ask you- did you ever use that page I gave you?”

[Matthew :-: Atlantica :-: City]

Despite not knowing how to normally swim and having a phobia of deep water, Matt had found it easy to traverse the deep after his lower body shifted to that of a mimic octopus. He had followed Joe closely to the underwater city, and marvelled at what lay before him. It wasn't long before he split off from the group to do some exploring while he had some time.

Unfortunately, his sense of direction was much worse underwater and being in an entirely new location, he quickly found himself lost. Matt felt a pit in his stomach form as he began to get unnerved, and his social awkwardness prevented him from doing the sensible thing of asking for direction. As such, he ended up wandering the city for longer than he wanted.

---

"Wanderer's Log, Day 723. I have been scouring this city for almost two years now, trying to find any remains of my friends. Despite having ended long ago, the battle we came to fight seems as imminent now as it did then. I fear that by the end of the day, if I can find nothing of my comrades-in-arms, I may finally go insane."

[Nick :: Jadis' Castle :: Armory]

Nick turned another corner, walking into the armory with a small amount of entitlement. He wouldn't admit it out loud, but he felt like the armory was his and everything inside was his and his alone. He glanced at an Al-Bhed rifle, grabbing it with his left hand while he picked up a sheathed shortsword with his right and clasping it around the newly forming belt made from the Darkness. Grabbing a sheath for the rifle, he made a glance towards a sash with five throwing knives knives sheathed within. His gloved finger traced along the blade carefully as to not cut himself, but Nick couldn't help but hesitate. He had no knowledge of how to use them, and wouldn't have an opportunity to learn before this battle coming up. Perhaps he could have the Guado teach him, if any knew how to properly throw a blade.

A sudden realization struck him as he looked towards Teacher. Where were all the Guados? He hadn't seen a single one on the whole walk through the castle, and the cloaked woman hadn't mentioned them missing. Had they already left the castle? "Teacher, where are the Guado servants? I was hoping one of them could teach me to toss a blade after I play with Ajora and his crazy plan, whatever it is."

[Joe: Atlantica: City]

The male had been followed by Matthew, but he didn't really mind that. But he was a bit thankful that the blue mage had gone off by himself for a bit, because Joe needed some time by himself.

He had managed to seclude himself, though some of the guards knew where he was so they weren't surprised to find someone they didn't know just sitting there, slightly jittery and with his eyes closed. He was anxious, nervous. Angry at Ajora for doing this, angry at himself for being nervous about it. And he was trying to keep himself calm.

In smaller fights, you can do a lot to protect everyone. In a war, though...people will die...damn it, why can't I be just a bit colder? He was hating this. Hating this so much, and all he felt he could fall back on was his anger...but he was managing to keep that in check, his thoughts going from random thought to random thought to not be forced to think about it.

[Triton]

The king had been busy making sure his city and it's civilians were safe, bolstering his guards and those that wished to fight as best as he could. He even donned armor and a spear, himself. He might not have his Trident, but he was planning on being right by his people, regardless. Plus, his daughters....

They were set up in the throne room, shells and devices and magic set up to amplify their voices so they would echo across the battlefield. They could feel the nerves of the people, just like the king could, but they had themselves prepared as well.

The kingdom was ready.
