Just make it a small squad of between 3 and 5 models, with option to upgrade one model into a super librarian or whatever the highest rank is these days. You could give them a power along the lines of the Imperial Guard psyker squad.

Dark Angels are actually quite good...
My friends dad has a hundred Death wing terminators, half of them Assault Squads, and half the Raven Wing, and they are incredibly nasty, then can destroy any army matching their points, they even owned half a dozen stompers.

Van Evok
deathwing and ravenwing give dark angels bad name due to high point cost of models making them vulnerable to even few failed saves...
ravenwing with the scout move actually can charge IG in first turn with meltaguns fired, and meltabombs on the charge making for lots of destroyed tanks and general mayhem.

Deathwings can fare againts most oppoments with a well thought armylist,
most having dreggys as moving long range and anti-tank support,
land raider as a "shoot-it-up!" magnet and termies taking care of thinks in
mid-range.
True that they stuble too much on points cost, so mostly your army is
either full DA, DW or RW army, rather them all mixed into one as the current DA-codex WAS CREATED IN THE 1ST PLACE.

I mean come on, they gave us the option of taking pretty much anything
and mix it up and yet we can´t build it to be more balanced because the
special units cost toooo damn much. mad
Not the mention the DA space marines being nothing more then meatshield
to your VERY expensive, VERY small special units.
Did they just pass the project to rookies who haven´t read the original codex and backround stories or did they smoke pot while they we´re at it.
I´m quessing both. 3nodding

Blackened Heart Sucubi

oh yea... lol i still love that thing... and yes damn those dice to the darkest corner of the Warp.

Indeed, I´m sure most people here have seen some either hilarious and/or horrible failings in dice rolls.
Like Creater Deamon getting killed with a lasgun or
a lone character/model/tank survives practically from everything the enemy
player/s throw at it.

Blackened Heart Sucubi
but 3 plasma cannons is intimidating.... especially since they wont overheat in your face... but it is very pricey...

Yes, plasma-cannons-of-death.
I still remember how I made an angry squads of grey knight termies
vanish and make space marine termies turn around and run away. heart

This is another one of those pointless "my army is prepared for anything so it can NEVER lose" discussions.. stare

Bad Shin!
You have Orky painting to do Mister.
I'm currently making a 1500 point list to counter 48 Fire Warriors, a Commander with twin linked Burst Cannon and Fusion blaster, and some nasty body guards, 20 or 30 Kroot, with a Krootox and Shaper, and a Hammer head and Ethereal.

Any ideas on a good list?

Librarian Council

Cost: 80 pts+Librarians

In times of great need, Space Marine Chapters fighting with more than one Company at a time will organize their Librarians together into battle squads in order to amplify the power of their attacks to a staggering level.

Composition:

1 Master Librarian
3+ Space Marine Librarians

The Librarians may be armed however you choose, though they must all have the same type of armor. No mixing of Power and Terminator Armor. The Master Librarian may be a normal Librarian, but is treated differently for the Cataclysm Psychic Power. Otherwise, the Master Librarian may be exchanged for a Librarian Special Character.

Cataclysm:
In battle, the Librarian Council focus their rage and hatred for the enemy together into a single, rolling wave of psychic energy that is focused and directed by the Master Librarian. Such is the force of the blast that it is equivalent to a long range artillery shot as far as destructive force.

In the shooting phase, instead of using their individual shooting or psychic powers, the Librarian Council may instead use the squad power Cataclysm, with the following stats.

36" S6 AP4 Heavy Apocalyptic Barrage(X)

X is equal to the total number of Librarians in the squad, including the Master Librarian.

If the psychic test is failed for Cataclysm, the hit is directed against the Master Librarian. If he fails the save, it causes two wounds instead of the standard one. If the Master Librarian falls in battle, another Librarian may step forward as the "Master" of the squad, but takes Cataclysm tests at -2 to Leadership.

Thoughts?

Hmmm, so all the Librarians may have different Psychic powers?
Apart from the fact that I thing Cataclysm could be boosted to Str7 maybe, I like the idea. Brilliant work.

As I was doing it, I just got a mental image of a bunch of Librarians, wreathed in their own power, letting out a rolling wave of pure energy that would just make stuff start blowing up at random in their target area.

an idea of mine:
sniper instructors squad
elite slot
stats: as scout vet sergeant
3-5 in the squad
cost:25 per model
weapons/wargear: scout armor, boltpistol, sniper rifle, cammo cloak
special rules:
masters of stealth - add +2 instead of +1 to cover saves up to 2+, and giving 5+ in the open
headshot: inflict rending on 5+ to wound

sometimes, a team of chapters most experienced snipers is gathered to kill a specific target - especially Raven Guard and their successor chaptres favor this approach over more heavy-handed use of firepower

So, essentially Space Marine Ranger Pathfinders? I think that would cost too much and be too small a squad for people to find it overly useful.

I have a question in regards to conversion and legality of a model.
Could I represent an Emperor's Champion in Terminator armor. The fluff says the Black Sword and Armor of Faith may change.
As long as it keeps the stats given to it in the codex would it matter if I had my champion in Terminator armor?
