"Nah, you're just that alluring," Lori half-teased. That was it.
"No! I'm fine. I don't think drinks can do anything to me."
"Interesting."
"Mm-hm. I'm sorry you had to wait for me. Would you mind dropping me off at home first?"

Luca shook his head, grinning.
He had to agree with Lori, that was pretty interesting. Dari could taste, feel, hear and see like a human; but drinks didn't effect him? "Not at all," he said, smiling at Dari. He offered the alien his hand.

Dari took Luca's hand and Lori got up behind them, wrapping one arm around either man as they headed for the door and out into the night. This had been a pretty enjoyable evening altogether.

Luca drove Dari home, and then, when he reached Lori's place, stopped the car and smiled at his boyfriend. "I love you," he said, leaning over to kiss him. "Want to pick out a movie?"
Like a worried mother, Maia was up in the kitchen waiting for Dari's return. She had made tea, and was sipping at a mug when he came in.

Lori smiled. "Yeah. I'd like that."
Dari came in to find Maia and Toby still awake. He laughed and shook his head.
"I survived!" he said, "There was one really intense guy, but he ran off when I laughed at him."
Toby snickered. "Laughing at people isn't a good way to make friends, you know."
"Of course. I didn't want to be his friend. I met a small group of young men and they were really rather nice to spend the night with."
"So it went well?"
Dari grinned. "Yes."

Maia set down her mug and moved to hug Dari. "I'm glad you had a good time," she said, smiling at him. She pulled back, after a moment. "Do you want some tea? Are you tired?"
They entered Lori's house, Luca greeting Rosie happily. "What genre?" he asked.

Dari accepted the hug and returned it. "No, thank you, and no, I'm too worked-up. I think I'll stay up a while."
Rosie greeted the couple just as happily and licked at Luca's hands, then her master's. They traveled to the couch and Lori kissed Luca's cheek. "It doesn't matter. Romance?" Gay romance, maybe?

Luca moved scooted a bit further on the couch, laid down, and put his head in Lori's lap. He opened netflix and opened the romance section. "This?" he asked, looking at the description of the movie. Two guys falling in love. Perfect.

Lori immediately switched from club mode to loving boyfriend mode. He stroked Luca's hair and face as he lay in his lap and nodded when Luca chose a movie. "Sure."
Unfortunately gay films usually ended in tragedy or heartbreak. Something bad. Maybe this one would be alright? Or maybe Lori didn't care. The movie had barely begun when he looked down to Luca and ran a gentle thumb over the curve of his upper lip. He smiled.
"Luca?"

"Hm?" Luca turned away from the tv to look up at Lori. He smiled happily. "He reached up to stroke the growing stubble on Lori's chin.

Lori scrunched his lips together to tighten the skin on his chin and chuckled. He smoothed some of the hair away from Luca's face and ears. He admire him a moment and let his head fall toward one shoulder.
"You've been spending a lot of time here lately."
Rose curled up in her bed, chewing a plastic bone.
"Have you ever, uh... thought about moving in?"

Luca was honestly surprised by the question, pleasantly surprised. He stared up at Lori for a long moment, "You want me to move in?" he asked, smiling. That was pretty official, wasn't it? More than just words. He hadn't thought about it--he'd only just begun wondering if Lori would be alright with furthering their relationship.
The answer was apparently yes!

Lori chuckled lightly, probably with relief. He wasn't entirely sure why himself, but it was there all the same. He nodded. "Yeah, I'd like that."

Did he start packing tomorrow, then? What did he do? He leaned up for only a moment, to capture Lori's lips. "I love you," he muttered against them, and broke away to smile at Lori.
"My frog and your dog. Think they'll get along?" he teased.

Lori grinned and returned the kiss the best he could with such a broad smile. "I love you too," he replied, "and sure. We'll tell Seamus not to go fishing either."
Was this really happening? He was pretty sure it was! Lori had never gotten to the moving-in point in a relationship. It always ended before then or just never felt like the right time. With Luca, though, he was certain.
