I don't know, they'd still "belong" to us in that we would still be able to use them in every way we do now. However, if it did happen, I would like to think that Gaia staff would understand. Though, if you were having so much trouble with it, you could have just done a recolor of the Child of Gevaudan hair, because that's -basically- what it is. XD

Though, I don't believe the copyrights would go that way. Because we aren't a part of Gaia staff, they'd buy or characters and they won't be ours anymore.
Had we'd been staff members then if we design anything it becomes their property.
Legally, yes, they'd be able to ask our permission to create these items with no royals to us and credit of creation.
But just as well, they'd have to take the extra time with their pixel artists to even considering really using our ideas, as they only are ideas in the end.

You can still copyright ideas. But I really wouldn't want Gaia owning Sil or Aemilio.
And I know this'll happen anyways because my main story is being put in comic form...but I fear for roleplayers. : Especially with Sil. Because with someone like that, you'd only see her outer layer, and I'd have people playing her as just this mad psycho b***h.

I could've pasted the OH NOES all over the place! Like when Mel went ahead and stood next to Luciano (good battle tactic), Alex goes get electrocuted, Ace got shot in the back, Ace realized how messed up the room is, and the freaking barn collapsing completely (because Sil's going to be super duper angry). Even though the chain of events are already set in stone for me, I didn't think it would be so hard for me to create a rp post that makes sense in my OC's perspective. sweatdrop t h e C a r d M a s t e r Gaia had done things similar to this before, like the Bento Bunny fiasco or the winning Coca-Cola belt contest. I don't know the bento one was taken down temporary and then brought back up with credit in the item description. I don't know what happened for the dual belt item though, since it was taken down completely because the artist said he/she wanted money for it (could be wrong though). There's also the GCD McSourface pose from one of the old EIs. It's still here, but it had created a commotion. I'm sure that Gaia wouldn't want to go through those routes again. They still have the parody/homage option though. Seriously, I love the way you pixel the item onto a male's base. Don't worry about Ace so much since he's pretty much started from a Tektek'd outfit. The only thing that stands out as a non-Gaian avatar about him is his hairstyle being much curlier version of the Courtly Coiffure item.

There are contests where users can submit ideas for one item, but we have entire characters that can spawn off multiple items.
And the Dual Belt fiasco is even worse.
The person who won the belt contest actually stole the belt design off a different site, submitted as their own, and won. After Gaia found out, they had to change all the Dual Belts into the stupid G-Raver belts, which was the second place winner of the belt contest.

t h e C a r d M a s t e r No way~ Bento Bunny is a cash shop item that came with some chef sushi set update. Even if it was submitted to some regular Gaia item contest (I don't believe this concept is original enough for it to win anyway), it would've ended up in the regular gold shops like the rest of them. The Gaia artist who pixelated the Bento Bunny item was also a friend of the girl who claim copyright to the idea/pixel art in Deviantart. Even though both art of the concept are very similar, it still had its differences. ...Even though we have an entire cast going for us... Ace is heavily based off of Hidden Ace EI / Ecarte / Ian concepts. At least Alex has something going for him, like his hair. -sulks- I wouldn't want Sil's characters to become some NPC, but I wouldn't mind Gaia making a way for us to have the ability of cosplaying the OCs if it provided bits and pieces here and there for us to put it together. What you said for the Duel Belt fiasco is true. When it comes to who that held the responsibility of hosting and looking through contest entry, it was really the Coke company who didn't "research enough". Gaia only helps out by pixel-ling whatever the winning item was. Still, it was everyone's fault (plus the users) for not pointing it out until after the item was made.
